Man, I really need some gum today
That was a test to see how well you guys are reading!
Nate told me that if I’m going to talk about studying for my tests that I have to at least let you guys know if the result was good or bad. Sooo….I got my Biochem test back today. You know how I said some of the problems were hit or miss? I totally missed a big one
I still did alright overall, but I was not a happy crab this morning
Kelsey and I had another Humpday Potluck.
I brought:
- GH Dakota buns
- Leftover Fiesta Broccoli Dip
- Kashi H2H
- Pumpkin Butter
Kelsey brought:
- Avocado
- Cheese
- Pineapple + mango
- TJ’s greek
Since yesterday’s Broc Guac was more of a Southwest dip, I took today as the opportunity to mash in the avocado and make some real guac. Delish!
The cheese (here for the brand). It was like manchego, which I lurve.
The fruit.
The yogurt + cereal + pumpkin butter blend
I’m still a little hungry, but I think that’s my cue to chug water. In an emergency, I’ve got a grapefruit and fun bars to rely on.
Two classes down, two to go!

Yum! That avocado spread looks delish!
I thought you said that if you got hungry you had “fun bags” to rely on. Now that would be something.
Lovin’ Lunch… I have to eat now after seeing that!
yeah…i knew the onion breath was not right!
looks like a fun lunch!
AVOCADO! So delish. I just ate some with my lunch too =)
LOL Sarah.
Looks like a great lunch party! My bf made a big batch of guacamole for me to bring into work today because we had avocados and cilantro that was going to die before we could eat it. Our poor planning = snacks for my colleagues
What a great lunch! You guys always manage to splash lots of color in there!
Sorry about the test, at least you still did well overall.
Lunch looks great!
Mmm, lunch looks great as always. Good luck with your afternoon classes.
I love the combo of yogurt, pumpkin butter & cereal!
Your lunch looks great and flavorful – yum! I took a few biochem classes in undergrad and was never a fan of them!
on days where you have multiple components in lunch, do you find yourself less likely to have a snack?
HI Kath! Just catching up on comments from last night. I noticed that Snake mentioned you and Matt possibly moving? Maybe I missed something…..are you guys moving?
This spread keeps looking better and better!
That spread looks delish! So creamy!!
Lovin that yogurt combo, too
I’m glad you did well overall on the test, and you know what you missed!
Great spread
Sorry to hear the test didn’t work out as well as you had hoped. But your lunch looks delicious and I’m sure it brightened your day.
great potluck lunch. hope your classes fly by!
I think I may have to try the broccoli gauc
Oh wow, super delicious!!!!
Love the idea of a pot luck lunch with a friend! Looks yummy ; )
I agree with the others: that avocado spread looks delish!!
Yeah, that was a slick way to sneak onions into the oatmeal ingredients. I knew you were up to something!
*smiles*
Michele
What a fun lunch!
I love your potluck lunches!
good luck with your other 2 classes today!
Your potluck looks delicious!!!! Loving that avo/broc spread!!
ACH that avocado has me drooling! Not to mention all the fresh mango/blackberries/pineapple. I may have to run out (I’m at work) and find fresh produce before I implode!
my belly wants to say hi: GROWL.
One of the easiest most fabulous lunches yet!
Happy “humpday”!
Delish lunch! That spread looks so good.
What a Delicious & Nutritious Lunch!
you make greek yogurt look so good. does anybody else think it tastes a little too much like sour cream?
mmmm- that spread looks delish! I think I’m going to have to try that! I also like all the stuff that you add to your greek yogurt, you give me so many great ideas!!!
“ONION BREATH”. I missed that line in your morning post.
Megan- I think greek yogurt is soooo good. It only tastes like sour cream sometimes if you are using an off brand. Start out with Fage, which is a tad pricier but so much thicker and creamier. Try 2%—it is so creamy, and it can be sweetened if you desire a more dessert-like taste. Greek yogurt is also so versatile-mixed with hummus, in smoothies, with pumpkin and pumpkin butter-it’s all so delicious. Dont rule it out completely! Plus, the nutritional stats & satiety levels of gre-yo are impeccable!!!
Have a lovely rest of you day, don’t let your chin fall just because of one test!! You know better than that!! My mom always says, “how one deals with the results of a test is the real test”
LOL! Aprils fools onion breath, lol
Sorry about you test but that crab is always my favorite hidden smiley on gmail chat =) V.v.V
what brand is GH? i missed that part.
Yep, fell for the onion breath too. I was like “no, she’s gone to the dark side!”
I am glad to see that me and my husband aren’t the only onion haters out there!
Happy April Fool’s! I have my first day of the month giveaway on my blog today – including $40.00 in Oikos greek yogurt and two jars of Better n Peanut butter if you wan’t to check it out!
ha @ the title!
I would love to have some of that guac now. It looks so good!
We love manchego too! It’s great with apples.
Sorry to hear about the test. Feel free to vent – I know how frustrating it is when you miss just one thing that ends up making a BIG difference on your score in the long run. I’m glad that you’re still sounding pretty upbeat though
Hang in there!
You and Kelsey have THE best lunches when you get together! They always give me great ideas to try for myself. Keep ‘em coming!
Megan- I’m with you. I used to love Greek yogurt and jumped on the blog bandwagon that raves about it. Then my taste buds woke up or something and I realized- this tastes like sour cream. And yes I have bought the 0 percent plain, 2 percent plain, 2 percent with honey, etc. It tastes like sour cream (and yes even Fage, which I liked best. Oikos is nasty and Chobhani take it or leave it). Period. So now I stick with my supermarket Lucerne yogurt- low-fat, 90 calories, not that much sugar (15 grams>) and yummy flavors. Also, it’s cheap-. 60 cents versus $1.99 for a small container of Greek. Tastes awesome with my oats in the morning. I’ll probably try Greek again, but for now I’m going to watch my pennies (which no one seems to do in blog world) and eat my Vanilla Lucerne.
I love that you guys bring food to mix and match! and that broc guac looks delish! I can’t wait to get some avocado so I can make some!
Haha, onion breath… we know that would NEVER happen
Oooh that guac looks delish. I’m having some tonight too and cant’ wait!
sorry about the test! but that lunch looks amazing!!!! I bet i would like the guacy-brocy dip even better with that cheese MELTED on top! And I love greek yogurt but it definitely has a tang to it that most normal yogurts dont. I used to need sugar with it but now I LOOOOVE it!
love potlucks, your lunchtime ones are such a good idea!
Okay, you had me there… I thought “there’s no way Kath ate onions”.
Right, April Fool’s!
pu!
That looks like such a good lunch!
onion breath eh? haha! Did you guys hear about the new dessert bar uptown? We NEED to go very soon!
rhodeygirl ,
No, not really. As much as I love my multi-component lunches, I actually think having a huge bowl of something (like an EarthFare salad or soup) is more filling. But it does all depend.
Fancy ,
We’re not moving in the near future. The idea of opening a Great Harvest franchise (possibly in Charleston) has been seriously tossed around. But not until I am finished with my R.D. at the soonest, and we’d need to figure out if we could even get the finances to make it happen. But it’s a dream of Matt’s and I hope we can make it happen!
jenna ,
GH = Great Harvest Bread Co. where Matt works.
michelle (PinQue),
Oooo dessert bar!! Yes, let’s visit it soon!
K
that lunch honestly looks like my “perfect meal”!!! I wish I had some pumpkin butter and homemade guac on me!
That crab icon is so freaking cute. Did you use the phrase “not a happy crab” just so you could use the icon?
