Who’s ready for lunch!?
Rarr.
I’m being lazy today. I did change from PJs to workout clothes, but I have yet to work anything out but my brain. Been busy working on odds and ends – a bakery conf. call, Travel + 2010 Highlights posts, writing project admin.
Hunger came on fast + furious at 1:30 and I was sitting down to lunch at 2.
Enjoyed a lovely, colorful Hugh Jass salad with the last of the Thanksgiving Day leftovers – one week later!
- Baby spinach, drizzled in honey and olive oil
- Lavender Salt
- Carrots
- Green pepper
- STUFFING!
- Turkey cubes
- A 1-inch piece of last night’s bleu cheese
- Walnuts (can’t get enough of ‘em lately!)
- Pepper
Plus H2O with lime.
Afternoon plans include more of the same, plus a body workout at the gym (and some biking!) followed by another dinner with Karen and a UVA event!

Looks delicious! I have to say, I LOVE all the bowls you’ve been using lately! Do you actually have multiple ones of each or just one or two of each to keep photos interesting? I like switching it up but I feel kinda weird just buying 1 bowl or plate on its own!
I have 1-2 of most – except for our standard white Pottery Barn wedding set.
Still working on my leftovers too! Maybe tonight will be the last of them…
haha I love that water glass! That would make any meal happy for me!
You make me really, really want to try lavender salt!!! You’re lucky your left overs lasted a week too, my family ate ours in 3 days LOL
I wish we still had stuffing left. Love that.
Sometimes lazy days are the best days! Enjoy it.
ooo…are you going to lighting of the lawn tonight?!? So jealous!!
Yup!
That was my guess too! I am also sooo jealous! Hope it is a beautiful evening.
Helluva salad!!! ;D
Beautiful salad! Have a great workout!
That looks amazing. I had the last of our leftovers today too
I need to workout my body too! I worked out my brain baking a cake for my Pops this morning. Time to put those icing licks to good use
Salad sounds great! I need to throw a bit of honey on my salads. I always forget it’s in the pantry!
I can’t believe Thanksgiving was a week ago! It strangely seems like so much longer.
Gosh– it HAS been a week since Thanksgiving!!! Crazy!
Cute dishes amd mug!! Love it! Salad looks wonderful…..Love anything with blue cheese on it!
Great use of leftovers! So much better than the traditional day-after sandwich with mayo, ugh. Looks delicious.
Mmm I love walnuts on salad
stuffing in salad is genius…PURE GENIUS!
I love the addition of blue cheese – YUMMO!
I LOVE stuffing/dressing on a salad! YUM! Good luck getting all that stuff in this afternoon!
I really can’t believe Thanksgiving was a week ago…wouldn’t have believed you if I didn’t look at the calendar
I am not going to tell you how long it took me to figure out what “Hugh Jass” means… ’cause its just embarassing.
Have you run across any lavendar honey? It is really good with lavendar seasalt and melty blue cheese on crostini!
I’m not sick of Thanksgiving leftovers yet! We finished off the last of it for dinner and now I’m wishing for more
I wish I had still had leftovers! The only thing that remains in my fridge are some mashed potatoes. Not that I’m complaining, I do love them
2010 Highlights, what a wonderful idea for a post, or for just life in general. Looking forward to seeing it.
Here’s the 2009 version!

That salad looks amazing! There’s just something so right about walnuts and bleu cheese together. Yum
I love colorful food! And this is definitely a colorful and yummy looking salad!
I love all of your innovative salads. It would never cross my mind to toss leftover stuffing on top…
You’re so busy!! I love how you say you’re being “lazy” but really you’re doing a million and one things!
Have fun with Karen and the event tonight
The salad looks great, I am curious about the salt now. Have fun at the event tonight.
lazy, you, never!
The nuts I can’t get enough of are raw almonds! I just LOVE them and have to restrain myself every time I’m around them:) Have fun tonight!
The mug is one of a kind
I had one of those days yesterday. I literally wore my workout clothes from 6am-5pm and I never made it to the gym. Oh well! I think wearing the clothes burns calories, right?
hugh jass. hehe. love it.
I used up the last of my T-day turkey today too…topped this brown rice salad with it instead of my usual go-to chicken: http://eating-made-easy.com/2010/12/02/brown-rice-salad-with-chicken-apples-and-pomegranate-arils/
Yum! p.s. love the use of “Hugh Jass”
It’s morning where I live, but your salad makes me want lunch!
I love that mug – it’s so hilarious, every time I see it!
I have been a walnut whore lately!! This morning I had walnuts + mini marshmallows + mini bagel. Surprisingly delicious!
I love your leftover salad!! So much flavor in one big bowl.
Can’t believe how creative you got with your leftovers! Stuffing in a salad–unheard of? And I’m so intrigued by your lavender salt. I’ve never heard of that, but I bet it tastes wonderful.
Glad I’m not the only one still eating leftover turkey! We had a 20 lb one for 3 people; I’ve eaten turkey everyday for a week, LOL.
You’re food always looks so great! It always leaves me inspired to make great food.
Love that mug. Looks like something out of the Survivor show. Immunity Idol?
Someone please tell me where the Hugh Jass reference comes from. I see it everywhere!!
MamaPea made it up, I believe!
Hope you had a great body workout
I want to eat more veggies now……you’re inspiring! That salad is to die for I’m sure. Somehow I end up eating loads of carrots and onions and forget about other things. haha
Very inspiring. Thank you for sharing.
