Reunited with my Charlotte friend love!
While I’m in NOVA I had to stop in and visit Emily, her plum, her husband and doggies.
The plum is featured here as a symbol to what’s growing inside! 12 weeks!
When I arrived after the VDA meeting, I had the banana + sunflower butter snack I’d been thinking about all morning. Plus some TJs Ginger Cats!
Then we went out for a walk with the doggins
We walked for about 45 mins and then picked up Casey to head out for dinner
Destination: Fontaine Caffé & Creperie
I had a sparkling water as my adult beverage
And loooved one of the table’s apple + brie bruschettas
For dinner I obviously had to get a crepe
This is the Zenist with lentils, tomatoes and spinach in a spiced coconut blend. The crepe was made with buckwheat flour!
It was so delicious I ate it all!
We walked back home and are watching HGTV and eating ginger cats in Almond Dream ice cream (which was really good!)
Meow!
At the VDA meeting I met 3 Charlottesville dietitians and told them about our Great Harvest. I also recommended they stop into Great Harvest Warrenton on their way home to meet Pablo and taste some bread. They did – and I found this in my inbox!!
I haven’t slept well in two nights – can’t wait to put my head on the pillow tonight. Tomorrow I head back to Cville where I have a mile-long to-do list waiting for me!

ohh I miss old town and DC!
Looks like you had a lot of fun
Oh my gosh that crepe!! I have no words, just drool.
Emily, her plum, and you are all glowing.
Haha oh my gosh I LOVE Emily’s shirt!! Where did she get it??
Love TJ’s ginger cats, they’re the best. Well actually I love ANYTHING Trader Joe’s – but those are particularly delicious
Also good with peanut butter (and ice cream!) are Annie’s Hunny Bunnies.
Ginger Cat’s are my favorite, too!! My boyfriend even gave me a tub of ‘em for Xmas this yr (among other things.. it wasn’t just ginger cats, lol!)
In fact, I once asked him to pick up some Ginger Cats for me one time when he was going to TJ’s and I was staying home…he gave me the *weirdest* look (this was before Xmas) so I had to explain that yes, Ginger Cats = people food. When he got home, not only did he have Ginger Cats, but he also had the Chocolate Cats for himself… haaa! I laughed so hard.
Those are some of my internship preceptors! So fun! Makes me smile that it’s a small world.
I hope you get some rest tonight! Eek!
That crepe looks delicious and so does the apple/brie appetizer! Yum!
Glad you guys got to hang out! That crepe looks amazing. Have a safe trip home!
You and emily have the cutest shirts. Love your dinner that crepe sounds awesome, and dessert oh yum.
those ginger cats look delicious! meow indeed.
Well taht’s the cutest plum if I’ve ever seen one!
Have fun with Emily!
That apple and brie brushetta looks delicious! As does the almond ice cream and TJ ginger cats. I really need to make a stop into TJ’s. I’ve only ever been there once, but didn’t really look around too much.
Wow, that crepe is amazing! And I’ve recently been eating a lot of sunflower butter with peaches. Bananas are $13 a kilo here right now
I love crepes, have you ever seen them being made? It is quite an art!
Jealous you got to hang out with Emily and eat yummy crepes and eat almond ice cream. Enjoy your time with her!
That crepe looks SO good!
I love that shirt! It’s adorable!!!
Also, I have JUST started foraying into non-dairy ice creams (almond & coconut) and WOW I am so surprised by how tasty they are!! I think coconut ice cream is actually better than dairy ice cream.
Looks like a delicious dinner! You actually had a galette for dinner, I think. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Galette. I studied abroad in Rennes, France in Brittany and had more than my share of these. YUM.
Looks like a perfect visit with an old friend.
Wish you guys still lived in Charlotte so I might have had a chance to meet you!! Glad you both have moved onto places where you are happy though! That crepe looks delish.
Fun! 2 awesome bloggers chillin with some ginger cookies and ice cream. good time xoxo
I miss old town! So many great places to eat, so historical, and just beautiful! My fiance and I lived there for a little while, he worked at a firm right there in old town! I miss it!
Hope you get some sleep tonight Kath!
Oh my goodness that looks good! Two questions – 1) What is that green stuff that looks like glitter paint? Pesto? and 2) Was it soft like a traditional crepe, or more tortilla textured?
I guess also, 3) Is it wrong that I’m already trying to plan meals for a tentative trip to DC more than 2 months from now?
I actually don’t know what the green stuff was! And it was a very soft crepe
Looks like a fun evening!
Hope you get some well needed rest tonight!!
No way!!!! I love those cookies!!!
I haven’t seen KITTY Graham Crackers before!!!
LOVE IT!
Those crepes look so good…sounds like you had a great time.
Cute shirts! Both of yours. And those flowers in Old Town are gorgeous.
I love that you and Em are both wearing foodie tees
Ohhhh! Hi friends!!! Miss you!

I love TJ’s ginger cats! I have a package of them that I am hoarding in a cupboard right now.
Mmmm… enjoy!
Sweet dreams.
That crepe looked delicious!
Cute pics! Love it when blog friends show up on each other’s blogs. You always have great blog titles.
I will be going (across the street) tomorrow to TJs to get those ginger cats. Had no idea they existed, dont care if they’re not vegan and not GF. I will be getting them!
banana + sunflower butter = Tj’s SFSButter is my love, my passion. lol
Your time with Emily…awesome! Her plum. Love the reference. Grape, plum, apple, etc. I remember playing fruit naming/size games when I was pregnant!
Yum apple and brie! Brie is so delicious.
Yay for blog friends!
Hooray for my two favorite bloggers, together again!
And, I love both of your shirts.

Wow that crepe looks so good and that ice cream! Where do you get the ice cream from?
How great that you got to meet up with Emily! HAhahaa, that’s so cute about the plum. CONGRATS to her!!

Aw, I’m glad you got the chance to see Emily again
Friend time is a must when life gets really busy
Your dinner looks yummy and I LOVE almond dream ice cream!
Hope you have a safe trip back tomorrow and a good nights sleep tonight
Almond dream ice cream sounds like a dream. I’m yet to find a carton of ice cream in mumbai without a funky sounding ingredient list!
Lol it looks like your dietician friend has grain on the brain, literally! The woman on the right looks like the sprigs on the wall are coming directly out of her head. That’s some unfortunate yet funny head placement.
How fun!!! I want to come play!! We have a crepe place here too that does sweet + savory. The savory are made with buckwheat and they are delish!
These were buckwheat tooooo! We miss you!
It is so neat to read your and Emily’s different posts!
Very fun to read!
Have a safe trip tomorrow
That apple + brie bruschetta looks amazing! As does your lentil crepe. YUM! Have a safe trip back home!
looks like you girls had fun! get home safely.
Looks like you two had a blast! And what a happy bunch at the Great Harvest place!
WOW your meal and dessert look/sound amazing!! Have a great sleep (hopefully)
Congrats to your friend! I always have a cookie jar filled with the ginger kitty cookies…so good!
I’m partial to sweet crepes, but that savory one looks scrumptious!!
That crepe is a thing of beauty! I’ve never had a savory crepe before. I’m very intrigued
buckwheat crepes are the best! also, those ginger cats are such little cutie pies
MUNCH!
Beautiful food! I I wish I saw more crepes on the menus out here. They are so easy to make and can be filled with anything!! Love the simplicty of the brushettas too…Can’t go wrong with apples and brie:) Aloha!
I just might have to recreate that bruschetta sometime. Looks much better than the tomato variety.
Hope you’re able to get some good rest soon!
Fun photos- I love both of your t shirts! The bruschetta looks great, I love brie!
Love the picture of Pablo and new friends. Hi Emily! Congratulations!
Hi Mama Younger!! THANKS!
Brie and apple = delicious! Looks like you and Emily had a great time together!
I hope you were able to rest up! It looks like you’ve been having a busy (but FUN) past few days.
And Emily is going to make an adorable mom.
I don’t know what is going on with that crepe folding situation but I like it
also, loving your friend’s shirt (if I knew someone with that shirt, I’d be their friend too)
oh that dinner looks so good!
Pictures are beautiful. And you guys look great.
Crepe with lentils??!!! That might be my dream food.
I took a deep breath when I saw apple + brie bruschettas!
Love Emily’s t-shirt – so cute!
I was just thinking of almond ice cream last night. Mmmm. Must find.
Fontaine looks incredible! I need to put that on my list of destinations when I get up to the Northern part of the state next!
Looks like a great day, and a great meal! And congrats to Emily! She really is glowing.
Love both of your tshirts! Adorable!!
The RD on the left is Rita from Martha Jefferson! She does a little segment on Ch 29 news and has recipes on the Martha Jeff website!
i love both yours and emily’s shirts!
That crepe places looks awesome!
Congrats to Emily! And congrats to sleeping in your own bed tonight!!!
What a fun day/night to hang out with Emily!
I love both of your shirts! So cute!
That Almond Dream looks good. Must try it
Mmmm…there are few things I love more than a good brie with apple or pear. Add in some carbs, and I’m in heaven. Yummy!
That crepe is kind of making me hungry for lunch already, and it is only 10:02AM. I can justify being a little hungry, though, because I did not have much for breakfast.

Ohhh – that apple brie bruschetta sounds increddddible!
That crepe sounds to die for right now. I’m in the mood for some lentils! Love this post, your blog and Emilys are two that I read the most!
Its always so fun to visit a friend. That crepe looks fantastic!
Oh man, I haven’t had crepes in sooooo long! I think that needs to be remedied.
I didn’t know about Great Harvest until I read your blog. SO glad I know about it now. Best bread ever.
I thought the lady on the right in the last picture had one of those headbands with ears on it until I looked closer and saw it was the wheat on the wall.
I went there LAST WEEK and ate THAT BRUSCHETTA.
My gosh, I feel like a celebrity. That is so exciting to me!
Hahaha
