She becomes very irritated when a movie deviates from the book (i.e. Harry Potter). She is probably up to her eyeballs in required reading until summertime anyways. I did buy my tickets today and I am now $200 poorer (not to mention the dinner/parking) but I am very excited to see the show...on March 7!!! I ADORED the musical--probably the best I've seen on Broadway (ok, fine, probalby tied with Rent--wonderful in differnet ways!!). I didn't love the book, and agree with the above poster who says reading the book first might be a distraction. The book is fabulous. The show is also fabulous. But they are fabulous in different ways. When my friends and I saw the show I was distracted by the differences from the book that I noticed, while my friends who had not read the book were able to just enjoy.
