Today was nonstop moving.
In fact, it hasn’t stopped yet. I just need to get my post up so we can pack the computer and keep working!!
Moves are tough. But also kind of fun.
HIGHLIGHT of my day: the insides of our kitchen drawers!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
The drawers were a horrible grungy wood color before – such a small change with a big improvement!
Painted the same color as our new living room: Benjamin Moore Robin’s Egg Blue
And the third glimpse of blue, a Caribbean-inspired master bath: Benjamin Moore Tranquil Blue
LOWLIGHT of my day – cleaning the trashcans!
I had all but decided to buy a new trashcan with this move. We’ve had our other one for about 5 years and it was GROSS, even with me cleaning it well before last year’s move.
Recycling bin – ewww!
I broke out the Shaklee Basic G (the grimiest one) and my Scour off – along with a steel wool in case I needed it.
I forgot to take an after shot before the sun set, but the can is now SPARKLING!! Thanks cherry pits!
We made 3 trips to the house today with 2 Hondas and 1 SUV – thanks so much to Sara for her help!!!! She was there sweating right with me all afternoon. xo.
After trip #1, we took Larbs + Matt by the bakery to pick up the leftovers from Saturday for their trip home.
Sandwiches were made
Hummus + cheese + veggie
With some chips
And a bite of Rainbow for dessert
The bakery is so lonely on Sundays!
Matt and I worked straight through all afternoon and all I had for a snack was a handful of trail mix – could.not.stop.moving.
So by dinnertime and after our third trip to the house, we had dinner.
Now I had every intention of cooking tonight. I had a meal plan, ingredients and I know were my pot is. But I currently can’t see the stove in the new house, as it’s covered in boxes, and the old house kitchen is completely empty.
So we dined out again and went to a favorite place on long days: Continental Divide.
Where’s the beer!? Thirst won.
I had the Mushroom + Spinach Enchiladas in corn tortillas with rice and beans. SO delicious!!!
And I totally cleared my plate! It was one of those meals where your stomach is still growling by the last bite – but then it settles into nice satisfaction. We really love that place!
Going to work on cleaning. Movers come at 8:30a!

LOVE the color of your bathroom and living room. My favorite blues!
Such a good idea to paint the insides of your drawers. We have an old home (1918) and the drawers completely disgusted me when we moved in. Might have to do that still!
Are those sweet potato chips with your sandwich? They look delicious.
Love the colors!
Looks like the move is going well! The color of those drawers is beautiful and I like that it matches the living room
Yummy looking dinner too! Rest up for tomorrow!
I absolutely love the idea of painting the inside of the drawers! And what a fun color
Sounds like you all accomplished a lot today. Can’t wait to see the house!
Love the color choices!
Yuuum, the enchiladas look so good! So does the sandwich – very healthy.
I LOVE the colour of your drawers. Especially against the white, just so nice and calming; like a summer sky.
Love all the blue! Especially the bathroom – contrast with dark wood!
Love the blue colour!! So cute
Sending you energetic thoughts! Hope you’ll be mostly done soon!!
I really really really need to trek 50 miles out for sandwiches and bread now.
Nice job on the paint colors, makes me want to paint my apt!!
All those colors are awesome. I love the master bath, those wood floors are amazing!
Ugh, it’s been a week since we moved back home and I still don’t have everything done and back to normal. I wonder if it will ever get done. Good luck with the rest of your move!
I love all the colours! I wish I could move. It’s such a cleansing process (literally and figuratively)!
Cute photo of Matt! Happy moving!
I love the blue colors that you used! What a nice, peaceful color to see every day!
I love the Robin’s Egg Blue color of paint! It is all coming together!
The Shaklee Scour Off really does work, and I can attest for that!!!

I love all the blue! Very fresh and homey. How exciting!!
I LOVE the cherry pit scrub – it’s the BEST! I use it for so much, especially for getting marks off of my stove grates!
Love the color you painted the rooms. It reminds me of the sky!
Busy! Busy!!!
You got so much done! Go you!
….Your painting job is fantastic! Such pretty colors!
wow I cannot believe that you made 3 trips today AND you painted drawers already. Totally awesome. And it’s the simple touches like that that make me sooooo happy. Reaching in for a spoon or fork and seeing robin’s egg blue would make my day. Seriously. I love details like that
And you guys are making SUCH progress. Wow. Impressed. And that you’re blogging! Hope that internet/wifi setup goes smoothly in the place. The joys of moving in…
I love all the blue paint!! Very pretty!
Love those blues! I think I should check out the tranquil blue for our bedroom. I have been wanting to paint it that tone of blue for ages and it doesn’t look like it’s so dark that my husband would object. Our room is small, so it has to be somewhat lighter in nature.
Good luck with the rest of the moving!
The blue is so pretty, good luck with everything!!
Those colors are fantastic!! I love the living room color and the bathroom color. Great color choices.
Have a great move tomorrow!! Can you believe you own a house?? Congrats again!
Moving is EXHAUSTING, but oh so satisfying when it’s over and done with! Good luck.
All those blues are so pretty! Good luck with the move!!
I love the blues! Our full bath is painted Valspar’s “Pool Blue” and I love it – it’s so warm and at the same time, so calming (it is a warm blue color)!
I love the blue – it is so bright and cheerful and I love the idea of making the drawers match the wall. I think it will tie it all together so well.
Moving is such a lot of work, I am always amazed by how much stuff I have that I haven’t touched in years and yet refuse to throw away. Maybe that needs to be added to my goals now so I might actually DO it before I move again!!
Your home colors are perfect! So excited for you. Just got back from week long trip to Emerald Isle, so catching up to your exciting news! How wonderful that your new home will be free of toxic cleaning chemicals, since you have your Shaklee Get Clean! You always put it to the best tests with A+ results!
LOVVVE the drawers.
Nicely done!! And I too LOVE the drawers’ painting idea!!
Man you are ridiculously organized!!!!! Me Jealous!!!!!!!
So pulled together & then you ate healthy too,
Put us to shame girl!!!
Think I need to go clear the cobwebs off my ceilings in our Adams Family house!
I love that the bears got priority seating
love the color choices so much especially that popping blue bathroom. It’s always nice to treat yourself to a relaxing dinner out after a day like that! Congrats on almost being done with it!
Yay yay! Happy, nourishing, acheivement0filled day!
Yay for getting moving work done– success! Good luck tomorrow, i’m sure it’ll all go smoothly

The paint colors look fantastic – especially the Robin’s Egg in the drawers
You can’t cook while moving, it’s just not going to happen
Good luck on the moving. It’s looking great!
All the best with the move Kath! I love the color you used for the inside of the drawers…they look great!
Good luck with the move! Love all the blues!
Loving the inside of those drawers! I can’t even imagine how tough it must be to move while you have your own business!
Ahh what a busy day! I hate cleaning garbage cans too.
Kath,
Just a quick breakfast suggestion for you to try!
I found something that to me is MUCH tastier than
rolled oats,Scottish etc….
it is OAT BRAN! I was so surprised how much tastier it is
(and I think may have more protein?not sure!)
Ate it it with a drizzle of milk, a few chopped dried apricots
and slivered toasted almonds.Super yummy and I read the
same health benefits as straight up oatmeal!
Jave you tried oat bran ever? (I bought Bob’s Red Mill,
but will now look for cheaper options as well….)
I used to eat oat bran a lot – just haven’t bought it in a while. I prefer the subtle sweetness of rolled oats over the brany oat bran, but it is good!
I LOVED the robin’s egg blue color! The room looks incredible with it (as do the inside of the drawer’s!)
What a fantastically clever idea to paint the interior of your kitchen drawers! And that luscious robin’s egg blue? Gorgeous on the walls, too. Also, I am in love with the tranquil blue against the white of the fixtures, and the dark, rich wood of the floor in the master bath.
I enjoy your posts so much. Have a great day!
I never thought to paint the insides of the drawers. Something to remember when wr re-do our kitchen. Love the floor in the bathroom. Is that laminate?
god, moving sucks so much. I’m super impressed that you guys did it all yourself. I caved in the last 2 times I’ve moved(within cville even) and hired mover!
I love your choice of blues on your walls (and the insides of your drawers!). Good luck on the move!
LOVE the paint colors! We are moving into our first rental house in a few weeks and I am going to paint our kitchen some shade of cool blue- I love the Robin’s Egg!
Your bathroom floors are gorgeous! Love the color choices, too. Looking forward to seeing you settled in.
Crazy that I just happened upon your blog with a “tranquil blue” search term! I’m an RD as well
Love the blog. Yummy pictures
