Morning has broken, treadmill has broken

January 11, 2011

There was nothing fancy about our 5:30AM workout, but it left us feeling refreshed and awake!

Just a quick 30 minutes on a treadmill that wouldn’t go above a speed of 4.0 and an elliptical and bike. I spent 15 on the treadmill walking at a steep incline and 14 on the elliptical – plus one minute of pushups and downdogs!

The unfortunate part of staying in a MO-tel – you have to go outside to get anywhere. We had to bundle up to walk across the parking lot to the fitness center, and the heat was iffy so we had to keep gloves on the whole time!

Breakfast tasted great!!

Matt and I each had a hunk of Honey Whole Wheat we took home from the tasting yesterday (one great thing about GH breads is that this loaf was a WEEK OLD and still tastes great! The methods of baking and secret proportions of honey and ingredients keep them from growing mold without preservatives. They also freeze really well!)

Topped with PB and crunchy buckwheat granola from home, this tasted like BUTTERSCOTCH!

We also shared an orange and a banana

And each had a small glass of milk!

I am multitasking by putting on makeup, eating, blogging and packing all in one. Not how I like to do things, but sometimes there is no choice.

See you from the HQ!

At least it had a fitness center! There are couple of “MO-tels” by my office and I don’t think any of them have fitness centers.

Woah that bread with peanut butter and granola on top looks so good. I never really thought to do that before – so simple, but looks so delicious!

I love seeing your MO-tel life, and how you make it work.
Good for you for getting on the treadmill this morning. We are on our 2nd “snow day” here in Charlotte today, and if I’m not getting up at 5am for work, it’s hard to make myself get on the treadmill…

I stayed at a Holiday Inn Express once and I was so excited to use their gym facilities but as soon as I started running on the treadmill, the electric charge was so great that my hair was standing on end! The machine zapped me everytime I tried to up the speed. That was a short workout. :-)
