Stealing his oats! KERF Readers, meet Larry 🙂 And Tanya!
Roni took a cute self photo with Larry and I wanted one too, but I was too short to see over his shoulder 🙁
The PepsiCo Sustainability Center is really cool and made of TONS of recycled materials. Our chairs are made from recycled Aquafina bottles! The insulation in the walls is recycled denim. And this info board is made from oats 🙂
Here’s a sneak peak of Quakers new True Delight bars. I tasted a bite of the Toasted Coconut Banana Macadamia Nut – YUM! They have a pretty good nutrition label sans a few sugar alcohols. They’re hitting shelves soon.
Although I wasn’t terribly hungry from my earlier big bowl of oats, lunch was excellent. I made a salad with a bunch of fresh ingredients.
Mixed greens, cuc, broccoli (perfectly steamed), tomato, chicken strips, tuna, cheese, oil + balsamic vinegar.
And the orange in the fruit bowl was just calling my name!
Lunch was calorically light, but I’ve got plenty of snacks if I need them later 🙂
Me with PB this morning –
Oat Friendly, Heart Healthy Lecture
I am preaching to the choir here, but did you know…
- Heart disease is now a women’s disease
- Women who have a stroke are much more likely to die within 30 days than men.
- Unusual fatigue is a top symptom reported before heart attacks in women
- Women with diabetes have a very high risk of heart disease
- Coffee and alcohol are huge causes of heart palpitations.
We’re learning about heart health and cholesterol by Dr. Annabelle Volgman, a cardiologist here in Chicago.
Better go pay attention!
