Man it has been a whirlwind of a morning!!
Busy.
Sweaty.
We’re working on getting the second batch of OpenSky mix bundles out the door tomorrow, so if you ordered one, expect it in the next week or two! Everything is made, filled (and shipped!) by hand, so I’m sorry it wasn’t there yesterday!
I just sat down to eat! Sometimes I love blogging because it’s a time when I can sit down and rest for a minute.
Tuna salad on end pieces with veg!
Los chips on the side!
I’ve got a ton of work to do today – both in the bakery and online. Humpday it is!

Your sandwiches make even the bread ends look good!
Happy humpday
That sandwich looks fab…and so do those chips! Are they BBQ flavored? BBQ chips are one of my favorites!
End pieces are the best–they are always the heartiest.
Mmm, end pieces. You know I had to stop reading your blog for a while because I thought I was allergic to wheat and all your beautiful photos made me weep! (And made me hungry!) Good thing all my tests came back negative. Making a sandwich right now!
The ends are my favorite part.
Busy is good!
The end pieces look like a bun. Yum!
I love the end pieces of a loaf of bread! I think they get a bad rap… personally they are some of my faves.. for sandwiches. and especially for dipping.
Do you blog while eating or before? Blog & Bite?
The end pieces are the BEST.
I love those Polan Spring Sparking waters, they’re my go-to for on the road drinks now.
Just wanted to let you know I am so sorry for interrupting your lunch today! I feel so bad about it!! Sorry again….nice to see you though! And that sandwich looks yummy-I had half of a Monticello Garden and it was great
Thanks!
No problem!!
Are those bbq chips? Yummy. Sometimes, nothing beats chips and a sandwich for lunch!
End pieces are so amazing! I hate that people throw them out, I find them amazing
I used to hate the end bits of the bread, but now they’re my favourite!
And thank GOODNESS it is humpday at that!
I agree with you 100% that sometimes it’s so nice to have the blog as an excuse to sit down and rest for a minute.
That sandwich looks amazing – you really can’t beat a sandwich made on GH bread (not that I’ve ever had one, but I can tell just looking at it
) Makes mine seem so boring and uninteresting…
End pieces of bread are the best! I never understood people who don’t like them — same with crust on bread. It is the best part!
Yummo! I also cannot wait to see where y’all are going for dinner!
blogging definitely helps me slow down and have a little me time.
Bright side- It’s past 12:00!!! Hello DOWN HILL SLIDE!
Now that I have a class, I understand the humpday term.
Seriously I just NEED the weekend.
I always fight for the end pieces!
Gorgeous sandwich and agreed on blogging, it helps me slow down.
Sitting down to rest is a beautiful thing when you’ve been go, go, go’ing!!!
Your sammie looks great!
I hate the bread ends, I either give them to Ben or the pups
Happy HumpDay!
It feels so good to sit down and eat when you’re busy! Enjoy
Why are there so many people who discriminate against the ends? I love them! I especially love making home made gluten free garlic bread with my Udi’s ends! Love!!!
Such a busy lady! It’s commendable how much you have going on in your life & happen to manage it all. Mucho respect from my end of the blog world
Maybe it’s something about today – I’ve had a super busy day too. That sandwich looks great, as do those crunchy chips.
the crusts of the bread truly is the best… whenever i eat the crust it takes me back in time – when i was littlte my mum would pick me up from school and on the way home, make our stop at our local baker (Costa – aka the greek baker-dude) we would pick up a fresh , hot outta the oven loaf of bread for after school sarmies, but even before the car stopped in the garage at home we have devoured both sides of the warm loaf’s crusts!!
so yummy – just something bout warm fresh aromatic bread…. irresistable
It’s definitely hot out there. I think pretty much the country is sweaty!
Sounds like a hectic day! Taking time for lunch always helps slow me down.
Hope you’re staying cool in this heat wave. DC is scorching!!
ahhh sounds like a cwazy day Kath! But I hope it stays wonderful and productive!
Amazing looking sammie! woah you have crazy busy days…enjoy
Yah!! I am really looking forward to my Open Sky order and can’t wait to try your goods. I hope you can take a break and enjoy your evening. Happy Hump Day!
Ahhh all your food looks so good! Om nom nom :3
How do you make your tuna salad? I’m always looking for good versions.
I’m sorry but I can’t share the recipe!
I like end pieces too!!!
As a long-time crust lover, I think you’ve hit the jackpot with the end pieces!
I’m sure you hear this often – but can I just say again how beautiful I think your blog is?? The colors you’ve used, all the food photography, the writing – everything
LOVE it!
Thanks so much Nickee!
Busy days>clock-watching
End pieces are GREAT.
Ugh-sweaty, yes! I am dumb and wear my lab coat outside when walking around campus. Why?
Bread ends are actually my favorite part of loaves!! (and all other baked goods for that matter)
I don’t like using end pieces for sandwiches – I always save them to make breadcrumbs with!
What helps you through your busy days? What do you do when you’re feeling stressed?
The internet!! Seriously. Pausing for a break to see what’s happening. It’s a nice break!
i hate end pieces but that bread looks awesome!! i saw a great harvest store the other day and decided that i would have to stop there this weekend after seeing all your yummy things on here!
You are a madwoman, Kath. And I mean that in the best way possible.
YUMMO!
I found your website via FoodBuzz and have been a subscriber to the blog for about a month, maybe 2 now. Every day I get such thrills from your gorgeous photos and am amazed and inspired by your recipes and treats. How do you take such beautiful pictures? What are some easy tips you can share? I love the blog set up too. Wow! If I could take a page or two out of your blog and and sprinkle in some of your magic essence, I’d hope my blog would be a tad bit good as yours. Thanks for the visuals and ideas!
Thanks so much Denine! I guess I’ve just had 4 years (everyday!! 3x a day!!) of practice. Trial and error, and all that jazz. My DSLR camera helps – but so does a bunch of natural light!
Can you tell me what LOS Chips are?
It’s the Spanglish version of “the chips.” Chips is pronounced “cheeeps”
Is that avocado I see poking out of the sandwich???? Yummmm
Nope! Just lettuce
Okay, thank you, LOL………..
It’s been a whirlwind of a day in HOT, steamy Kentucky today too!
I love bread ends! Looks like a yummy lunch.
Yum, do I spy Route 11 chips? Man do I miss those things! I swear my family use to plan road trips just to stop by their warehouse and pick up a couple of boxes!
