Mlog

August 19, 2010

Matt blogging here while Kath gets ready in our hotel.  We were sluggish this morning but managed to go for a short run around Goucher college.  The weather was great, the sun was shining, and it felt like about 3.5 miles.  Just enough to anger the blood!

Afterwards we met Larbs and Buzz at the Sheraton Club Lounge, got some breakfast, and brought it back to the room.  Combined with some of the leftovers from the other morning, it was a nice and light breakfast.

From the hotel (plus an Alliebar… I like these a lot by the way!)

And some pretty tasty eggins over a pretty decent wheat slice:

Whee!

We have an exciting destination for lunch!

P.S.  The Younger-Monson family is QUITE excited about this!

I have never seen a Harry Potter movie or read the book. Am I missing out?

Reply

4 Ma Fea August 19, 2010 at 9:24 am

YES. You are missing out! Start at the beginning. If you don’t like to sit and read, get the books on cd from the library–Jim Dale is an EXCELLENT reader!

5 Suzanne August 19, 2010 at 1:01 pm

Yes, you are! You’ll fly through the books – they are so good. Especially if you need a release from everyday life. They did an excellent job with the movies too. Check it out!

Ahhh I go to Towson University which is RIGHT by Goucher! Goucher is such a beautiful school, isn’t it?? Hope you’re enjoying your morning, Kath, and once again, so sorry about your Grandfather.

Nice post, Matt – I like how the two of you change things up now and then. Looking forward to your lunch today…

I’m a Harry Potter fan myself, but I can understand why people enjoy the books and movies.

Bloody hell, you have NO idea how jazzed I am about the final Harry Potter movies. I get chills just watching that trailer. What’s team KERF’s favorite book?

Reply

12 Ellen @ Undercover Runner Eats August 19, 2010 at 9:29 am

I wish I could try an Alliebar, or a GloBar. They’re popping up all over the place and I’m super jealous of everyone’s HLS swag! I hear rave reviews about both.

Harry Potter books are AWESOME, and as far as the movies go, they aren’t terrible movie-adaptations as far as book-to-movie movies go.

Allie really needs to sell those bars. I’m sure she has tons of people interested in them after you two here, Caitlin, Meghann, and others have been raving about them.

Last night’s post was the last thing I looked at before going to sleep… and I ended up dreaming about you and Matt, Kath! We were on some kind of huge bus traveling back to Nashville (where I live). You were asking for places to eat, etc. We ended up somewhere that had a place for us to cook and Matt was teaching my husband and I how to make pizza dough. Really strange! I had quite the laugh when I woke up! Had to share it :) Hope you don’t think I’m nuts now, though! LOL

I will have to say I was a bit shocked when I clicked on what you were so excited about. I laughed when I realized what it was. I was expecting maybe a new flavor of something or a hole in the wall for lunch… Very cute :-) Mlogging was nice, it is so awesome to see two people really get each other the way you both seem to.

So excited for Harry Potter 7 too!! I’ve been reading the books since I was 12, so these last movies are going to be a closing chapter for me :)

By the way, Kath, I’ve been reading your blog for over a year now, and I LOVE it. You’ve really inspired me to eat healthier with your fun posts, awesome pictures, and easy recipes :) I recently started blogging as a way to relax (medical school takes up a major part of my life). My blog isn’t specifically a food blog, and I like to write about what’s happening in my life.

However, I love cooking, taking pictures of food, reading cookbooks (which I don’t think is lame…), and of course, reading food blogs. I just started posting food related posts, and today was my first one, actually!!

I just wanted to thank you for all the inspiration. You really rock!

I WANT to be excited for HP but the problem is there’s like a year that passes between the release of each book and a year between each movie and I can never remember where we left off and then I spend the entire movie trying to remember if it’s the same as the book…

Thanks for the post, Matt!
