Mission Aborted

November 16, 2009

Matt and I had the best of intentions to get up and run together at 6 this morning but when the alarm went off I could NOT wake up!! I am normally the light sleeper and wake up quickly and today even Matt was surprised when I refused to stir or open my eyes. Guess I really have been soaking in the sleep lately. The good news is the sun is out and it’s a gorgeous day and I’ve got the time later to bike to the gym :)

We made up for our couples’ run by making breakfast together.

OIAJ!

that is probably the perfect jar to use for oats in a jar! i hate jars with lots of stupid angles because its really hard to get everything out with a spoon. but the warm oats would melt all the delicious butter, making it a snap to eat.

Sometimes we just need a little extra sleepies :) I wanted to stay in bed this am but I had to teach….:) Your breakfast looks incredible. Love the idea of oats in a jar- still haven’t made it. I want to pick up some pumpkin spice coffee! Looks like you two had an incredible weekend. Josh and I are thinking about going hiking next weekend and your pics got me all excited to go!

Hey Kath! I’m loving the hiking pictures! Just so you know, you inspired me to try a persimmon, and thanks to you, I’m hooked too! I can’t seem to find any nutritionals on them though, to see what kind of goods it’s providing for my body?! haha. Any idea? :)

Between the raves about Fresh Market coffee and the Thanksgiving blend from Starbucks, I need to do something about my coffee situation (Starbucks espresso blend; nothing festive!) ASAP. :)

With the shorter days, I’m finding it harder to wake up early! I’m not looking forward to the next month or so as the days get even shorter. Some how I managed to get out of bed at 6:15 and to a 7am yoga class :) Felt good to get it accomplished first thing.

I love the shape of that jar for the pic.

I had the same problem this morning. I haven’t been getting good sleep so I couldn’t wake up and when I did I was sick to my stomach. I stuck to oats and tea this morning and will workout this afternoon.

Yummy pumpkin spice plus Christmas blend sounds wonderful! I have not been able to get enough sleep lately either! I think it is a combo of the change of seasons/time change/lots of high intensity workouts. Sleep is important!

I see you have been doing Hot Yoga! Don’t you just love it??? I practice Bikram. Right now I am right in the middle of a 30 Bikram Challenge (actually Day 16 is tonight). Practicing every day you really start to see a diffenece in the postures. Love it! How many days to you do Hot Yoga?

I’m surprised the oats fit into that itty bitty jar too! Magic!

I found it hard to get up today too. It’s freezing cold, wet, and cloudy here today. Not to mention my late night and busy day yesterday! At least you guys get some sunshine!

Have a great day Kath!

Maybe your body is just trying to get readjusted after the travel + time change? It seems like that sometimes takes a while.

When I saw OIAJ, I immediately thought “ouija”, as in ouija board! Maybe your oats can predict your future? :P

Enjoy the lipid metabolism research. I took a lipids class in grad school and thought it was fascinating!

Oh yes, space heaters are amazing. My internship a couple summers ago was in an office and they kept it so freezing cold that I always had a space heater pointed directly at my feet.. Otherwise I’d have been an icicle!

VeggieGirl,
Yup! The end of it! You converted me into a hazelnut butter lover :)

Traci,
I’m a winter yogi and have been going to hot vinyasa once a week. I can’t really afford to go any more.

Janice,
Thanks for the award!
