Massive Monster Muffin

That husband of mine sure likes to see my eyes light up when he brings home one of these. My very favorite: Carrot Raisin Walnut. I love the Great Harvest muffins because while they are massive in size, they are made with real food – whole wheat flour, canola oil, sugar, nuts, fruit and a veggie in this case ;)

LOVE me some muffin oats!! Something about the textures is just perfect.

IMG_1852 (640x480)

The muffin portion also stretches far. I probably only used about 1/4 of this muffin for the crumble?

IMG_1847 (640x480)

  • 1/3 cup oats, milk, water
  • 1 small banana
  • 1 tbsp chia seeds
  • 1 tbsp raisins
  • Pinch salt, vanilla
  • Muffin crumble
  • TJ’s PB

Fab + Filling.

I also tried another of the Sea Island Coffees

IMG_1844 (640x480)

It was good, but not my favorite. A little on the mild/bland side.

I woke up feeling stiff yet lazy. An hour of yoga would have been perfect, but 10 minutes was all I could mentally do. But I still felt so much better. I put on a YogaDownload but ended up just going my favorite vinyasa flows myself.

I am supposed to go to the farmer’s market right now, but truth be told, I don’t really feel like driving all the way there.   Oh to have a market within biking – or walking – distance!!! But how else will I get my local veggies for the week? I could wait and go on Tuesday, but I know I should go today when have more time. Humph.

Have a sun shining day!

I was on my way to Trader Joe’s yesterday and wandered through the Farmer’s Market and I was so glad I did. Everything looks so much better there!! But I completely understand. There’s a supermarket around the corner from me and even though their produce never really seems that great I end up there more often than not. :(

I remember living in Boulder a couple blocks from a GH. Tasty stuff.

I have trouble with the big muffins because while I portion out some – I tend to go back and nibble on the rest!

Muffins are awesome on almost anything! :)

Being you live in a big city, I wonder if you have those “door to door” local/organic produce delivery programs? I’d so love to be in on one of them! They deliver local and usually organic produce right to your door and you get surprises every week. Not sure how much it costs though.

I do that with yoga podcasts a lot too… I get bored and just do my own thing :) I think I’m gonna go do that now, actually.

Have a good Saturday!

Wow, what an interesting combo; I would have never thought to crumble a muffin into my oats! That will definitely be added to my “do eat” list…!

Yum! Carrot muffins are my fave! I had to drive to my farmers market this morning too. I think I spent more time looking for a parking spot than actually driving there, then still had to hike almost 10 minutes from that spot. I hear ya! Wish I lived closer.

I’ve had the muffin and yogurt combo but not the muffin and oats – I should try it now that I’m riding the oatmeal train these days ;)

Have a great Saturday!!

Aaaahhh, I would take a good (pure) muffin over a pastry/donut any day of the week. I did not realize the selection of items Great Harvest has, I will have to go check one out in my area. Thanks!!!

Wow, those muffins look awesome! I mean, my eyes light up just seeing them on the blog!

I feel your pain; no market for me within walking or biking distance. And the only real market is about a 40 minute drive away…

My marke is just barely too far to walk. And I always feel like I’m ruining the whole sustainability of it by driving :-)
but they sell the best peaches, so I can’t just not go…

Looks like a pretty darn good breakfast. I have a big cranberry muffin waiting for me in the kitchen, but I’ll be having tea instead of coffee today :)

Mega dittos, Angie!!!

Earthfare does make pretty good muffins and scones, but I need to get some of that GH bread in my life!

Oh, I wish I had a GH nearer to me. My closest on is in Columbus! Your oaty breakfast looks fabulous and filling. Our closest farm market can’t really be walked to/biked to, and we end up buying most of our produce when we grocery shop..

That muffin looks so yummy! I hear you about the Farmers Market…I use to have to drive to ours as well about 30 minutes away. Then my office moved right up the street from it so I now go on my lunch break on Fridays it is great! I say take the drive it is so worth it for the fresh local veggies and fruit! :)

Have a great Saturday!

I am totally trying a muffin in my oatmeal. Oh my gosh that sounds divine – I know what you mean about texture – that has to be an awesome combo! :)
