Morning!
What to do when your sweet mother in law brings over four loaves of Great Harvest bread!?
Make French toast!
Or more specifically, a Grilled Banana Sandwich! [See round I here!]
Today’s was made with a big, fat slab of High Five Fiber, French toast-style, topped with 1/2 cup of heated canned pumpkin with cinnamon and cloves, half a grilled banana, TJ’s PB, coconut and a drizzle of maple.
But you know what was missing? CRUNCH! Still fantastic and took me a really long time to eat.
This is Breakfast post – take II. I like the new version of Windows Live Writer a lot, but it has been freezing on me! And the auto-save did not work. Gruf.

Wishing you all a happy Tuesday!

What kind of loaves did you MIL bring you?
High Five Fiber (x3) and Honey Whole Wheat
That first pic of your living room is gorgeous!! And your french toast looks amazing
Agreed! When I first started scrolling in my google reader (before I could see the chairs/couch) I thought it was from a magazine or something……
Happy Tuesday, back at ya!
I agree! Your living room is gorgeous! Beautiful yet comfy.
I thought it looked like a magazine pic, too! Can you come decorate my house, Kath?!
Looks delish.
I know what I’m having for breakfast tomorrow….
Oooh that looks delicious! I think I could have devoured that whole loaf on my own!! Have a great day Kath
Ohh that GH bread looks so thick and hearty!! So much more filling than the usual white bread French toast. Have a wonderful day!!
That GH bread looks so hearty and delicious- perfect for french toast! What a way to start the day
Breakfast looks highly amazing, and the morning light in the living room is beautiful.

I love the simplicity of your living room. Looks very chic!
The high five fiber bread looks like it could warm me right up too!
Oh my goodness that looks DELICIOUS.
You love your pumpkin! This breakfast looks amazing as usual. Any new updates on your Great Harvest location?! I am so excited for you!!!!
We’ve signed our lease – so now we begin buying equipment and talking to contractors. Construction won’t begin until after the new year (due to major landlord renovations and current tenant move out)
Happy Tuesday to you!
What an AWESOME fall breakfast!
that looks awesome…. i had a dream about making french toast last night, i think now i really need to make some:-)
I love foods that take a long time to eat. Helps me savor each bite! I think I need to look for a mother-in-law like yours
AMAZING! That looks so goooooood!
I haven’t had French toast in so long…yours looks amazing!
Mmm…lovely French Toast!
I’ll bet a little sprinkle of granola would add that perfect crunch component.
Love that picture of the loaf of bread! Beautiful!
Yum! That sandwich looks divine!
The combination of different things looks great!
WHY DO WE NOT HAVE THIS BREAD IN MY TOWN? Not fair, man. The most gourmet we have in my area (York PA) is like, Panera.
I love those plates!!
Oh, what I would do for a loaf of high fiber GH bread…that was absolutely my FAVORITE!!
that can only be the best french toast ever…it all starts with great bread!
This looks so delicious – and much heartier than my breakfast this morning! I love the idea of grilled bananas, too.
My dad is making french toast for T-Day Brunch and I can’t wait ! I might have to try heating up some pumpkin and putting it on top. Sounds great!
That’s so sweet!! Four loaves is ambitious, though, wow! Maybe freeze some?? Breakfast looks to die for. Maybe throw some granola in there for crunch next time? Way to start the day!
In love with your picture perfect living room!
I keep saying I need to try those grilled banana sandwiches. They always look so tasty on yours and Caitlin’s blogs.
So, I saw on Lexington’s Groupon today that they’re giving you 50% off of Chocomize’s chocolate bars! After seeing them on your blog, I may just need to try it out.

you live in bread heaven.
Your living room really looks beautiful.
And omg, that french toast… I think I’ll have it for my breakie tomorrow
That looks like something worth waking up early for!
Yum
I bought some TJ’s PB yesterday, so creamy and smooth. It is way different than the fresh pressed peanut butter I normally buy, it will take some getting used to. I also found pumpkin butter, and pumpkin cream cheese! I had no idea pumpkin cream cheese even exhisted until Sunday morning when I had it at Einstein bagels. Imagine my surprise when I happened to stumble upon it at Trader Joes’s.
Your breakfast looks delicious! You are lucky to have such a great mother-in-law.
Thanks for keeping me inpired, Kath. No one makes living healthy look as amazing as you do! Xoxo
Breaaaaaaaaaddddddddd!! Carb lovin’!
Yumm! French Toast sounds so good! Your living room is beautiful too!
I would add some chopped nuts, pumpkin seeds or a nice sprinkle of cacao nibs.
Were your ears burning yesterday? Ashley and I were talking about you when we hit GH. Have you tried the “stuffing bread?” It sounded amazing!
yes!!
I don’t like that bread cause of the onion factor
Oh, I forgot about that. Shoot.
I adore your chairs!
Oh yum! I am going to be in Charlotte for Thanksgiving. I hope Great Harvest is open so I can expereinc ethe glory!
P.S. – Your living room is gorgeous.
You might want to call in advance – they are usually super busy!! I think they do close on T-giving day and the day after
I had the same toppings on my oatmeal this morning!
So amazing. I don’t understand how I haven’t made this before. I love all of those things. Just out of curiosity, was the pumpkin overpowering?
Pumpkin? Overpowering? Never!
That loaf looks insanely good – I’m making bread tonight. I’m loading it up with flax seeds
Breakfast looks delicious… but I also have to comment on the catalogue-worthy photo of your living room! Morning light is always so gorgeous
I made a very similar breakfast for my husband this morning!
Yuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuum !!
Wow, your grilled banana sandwich looks amazing! How sweet of your mother-in-law to bring you over FOUR loaves of bread – and Great Harvest, no less.
My favorite french toast toppings are peanut butter, sliced banana and honey. Super filling and super delicious.
I’m not at all good at making french toasts, but Caitlin’s recipe on Grilled Banana Sandwich is to die for! So yummy
oh boy what a mountain of goodness! I eat French toast for any meal of the day – it’s easy and doesn’t have to be unhealthy. Also a great way to use up bread!
Holy yum! I love all the matching colors in the photos, too
is that your living room in the top picture? it’s GORGEOUS!
I’d like this on sat morning please!
This looks so drop dead gorgeous, Kath!! Beautiful.
