Fair morning to you! I fell asleep and missed a lot of Return of the King last night. I’ve watched about 50% of the series this week – missing parts from snoozing and blogging!
I had a bit of a lighter breakfast today because I’m going to brunch at 11am with some friends. Still had to have enough to tide me over though! Brunch is so complicated. It only really works if you sleep in really, really late and then get up and go!
Smoothie pudding [named for its thick consistency] made with 1 cup of kefir, 1/2 cup pumpkin, half a banana and cinnamon. Topped with some pumpkin chocolate chip muffin.
Pumpkin Spice tea on the side! Topped with frothed foam!
Have a lovely day!

I love brunch! Your tea looks delicious. Have a great day…!
Yum! Could that be made with milk or yogurt something else instead of the kefir? Do you make it in a blender?
Yup – milk and yogurt 50/50 would work great. I did make it in a blender
pre=brunch breakfast looks great! i have plans in a few hours too
Lol, I guess sleeping in late was never an option for you Kath! You should try it sometime
I do try….I never succeed. Unless I stay up really, really late
That tea sounds great! What a cheery breakfast
I always sneak in a light breakfast before brunch. I feel like I’m cheating do I keep quiet about it! Ha!
Yum! I love the orange color…I had a thick, thick banana smoothie layered with pumpkin challah bread this morning. Hooray for pumpkin!
Kath, I want to make a gorgeous pumpkin cake for Thanksgiving with buttercream/cream cheese frosting. The frosting on your bday cake looked PERFECT. Could Matt divulge the recipe or point to a similar one??? *Puppy dog eyes*
So sorry little puppy dog
The texture of that smoothie looks so smooth and slightly fluffy. Love it!
Enjoy your Sunday!
Great pictures! I’m not a fan of brunch…I think it’s complicated too. haha.
You’re so right Kath. That’s the only thing I dislike about Brunch. I’m either really starving by the time I eat, or not really hungry yet because I had a pre-breakfast. Hope you have a nice day!
That smoothie in a bowl topped with a muffin looks wonderful. I may make that tomorrow, minus the muffin as I am trying to lose weight
I love brunch! It can be complicated, but its so much fun
I always have a lil somethin’ somethin’ to tide me over till brunch- otherwise the bread basket dominates me!
Yum, looks delicious! I have yet to try kefir . . . one of these days I’ll have to get around to it, lol.
Enjoy your day
Brunch is my favorite! But you’re right, it’s better if you sleep late.*
I tried Adagio’s pumpkin spice tea this morning, it was delicious!! Have fun at brunch!
This looks fanTABulous! I enjoy delicious and still healthful recipes : )
I’ve linked you on my blog, my readers will love this!

I just love the frothy mugs of tea!
Also, that pumpkin chocolate chip muffins looks so good. Such a good flavor combo (almost as good as peanut butter and chocolate).
Enjoy brunch
i love, love, love brunch. but you’re right, if you’re up early, it definitely messes up the normal eating schedule. hope it’s delicious!!
Brunch works well for me because I am not immediately hungry when I wake up, so if I do wake up early (which doesn’t normally happen on the weekends, haha) I still have time to drink coffee and get ready before I even start thinking about food.
Love the burst of yellow this morning, it’s waking me up!
I can never sleep late so when I do brunch with friends its more like a really early breakfast and then a really early lunch (the actual brunch). Ha! Oh how I wish I could sleep in!
Oh my gosh! I am loving the colors in your posts lately Kath. This one makes me happy. I love yellow.
I feel the same about brunch – I get so ravenous while waiting for brunch time to arrive (and inevitably waiting in line when we get to a place) that I am tempted to over-order and eat beyond fullness and then feel lethargic for the remainder of the day. Much better to “pre-feed” on a light breakfast!
Your pictures always look light & bright

Recently tried kefir for the first time and I really lke it!
I had the same dilemma today – I had a baby shower brunch to attend, but woke up at 7:30, and knew I’d be STARVING if I didn’t have something before the shower. I had a simple little bowl of oats (no toppings) to hold me over, and it did the trick! If only I could learn to sleep in!
So true about brunch!! I’m a naturally early riser, so the brunch option is basically out for me most of the time. I’m not someone who can get up and wait a couple of hours to go out and eat with friends–I’m starving as soon as I wake up!
can i tell you – that i made my very first Kodiak Cakes this morning and they were phenomenal! inspired by your beautiful photos and rave reviews!
thanks!
Wheee!
I looove your breakfast! *copying for tomorrow*
Brunch really confuses me too! I’m never really sure how big of a breakfast to eat beforehand. There’s no way I could wait until 11 to eat!
Not ususally a brunch fan…although…your omlette with side of fruit would be right up my alley!
Totally disregard above post…must be time for bed! One of these days I must try kefir!
With a brunch at 11, I wouldn’t have put muffins in it, but just because I want to eat More at the brunch !
you have perfected the froth!
