LOOK at what Rudi got the Bears into last night!! We are very disappointed in him. A teenager is supposed to set the example!
Thankfully the Bears have had enough exposure to their father’s beers to know to stay away until they are of age. I think the fumes must have got to them though. They were quite loopy this AM.
I sipped on coffee while I waited for the rest to rise. My parents slept for 10 hours; Matt and I slept for 9! Guess our stomachs demanded more rest.
Mom wanted “KERF Oatmeal.” I delivered!! I made a pot for 3 (including Matt) of oat bran oat mix with banana – the usual – and topped them with pumpkin muffin crumble, pumpkin butter and drippy TJ’s sunflower butter (extra on mom’s!)
[My bowls are from a boutique in Charlotte; Placemat’s from Southern Season in Chapel Hill]
We’ve got a bit of a dreary day. But Larbs and Matt are on the way down from Maryland to spend it with us!
We’re taking M+D out on a tour of Cville via automobile this morning, then coming back for a leftovers lunch, then hopefully fitting in our annual Thanksgiving Weekend Hike this afternoon. Out to dinner tonight! Fun times.

I’m not sure if I can fit any oatmeal in my belly this morning! Such a great tradition to go on a Thanksgiving weekend hike – great to get some movement in on a weekend focused on food!!
Sounds like a great day planned! I’m envious of the amount of sleep you had – I went to a Thanksgiving dinner with co-workers last night and didn’t get home till midnight, then was up for a 5am personal training session… bahh lots of coffee to come this morning!! Have a great day Kath!
Tisk tisk, Rudi!! Gosh, what a sleeze!
Enjoy your tour and hike!
Looking forward to the recap! Stay warm!
Meg
I slept like a rock last night too- all that food takes a lot of energy to digest
Have fun with Larbs and Matt!
perfect way to start the day after thanksgiving! love those bowls
Oh Rudi, being hungover is not the best way to start black friday!
LOL
haha awww love the bears.
The bear pics are too cute!!
Love the orange bowls + blue dot placemats! So cute!
What boutique are the bowls from? I live in Charlotte and would love to find them! I’m a sucker for anything with coral on it. Your breakfasts sound (and look!) amazing by the way
A shop in the shopping center with Nolan Kitchen and Yoforia. I forget the name!
Can’t think of the name either, but it’s at the intersection of Selwyn and Colony!
Ok, thank you guys!
The Husband and I slept in late this morning and slept hard last night! : ) Too much food! I love the couch in that first photo!
I didn’t wake up until 8 this morning — late for me! — and am still lazing around. We have a THIRD Thanksgiving meal today, though, so I need to get going (and find a loose-fitting dress haha).
How could you request anything BUT KERF oatmeal?!
The matching breakfasts are too cute!
The weather here is icky, too. I don’t see me doing much outdoors today. Have fun with Larbs and Matt!
Love the pic of the coffee with the leaf. Great one!
I also had oatmeal this morning. It is a good start to the day after Thanksgiving.
The new placemats look gorgeous! I’m envying your mom’s oats right now…yum! Do you deliver to Canada?
KERF oatmeal sounds like a great recovery remedy for any hangover, turkey or beer. Hope the bears got some, too
Loving the new placemats!
Oh, my! Rudi is not setting a good example.
Have a great day with your family.
The oatmeal looks great and sounds like a wonderful day planned. Enjoy!
I also slept 10 hours last night… mega digestion going on!
I love love love your bowls and place mat! You’ve inspired me to start my own ecclectic bowl and utensil collection.
So cute!
I also love that you have bears!
HAHAHA!! I love the naughty reindeer photo!! Poor little bears!!! I hope somebody had a stern talk with Rudi after that!
HAHA the one under the couch cushion!!!!! so funny.
Bears will be bears.
I was looking at this post with my 8 year old niece and when we scrolled to the first oats picture she proclaimed “ohhhhh!” “WHAT is it? Is it caramel?”. Her comment “I like your bowls of yumminess!”.
Today is my birthday! I just realized yours is on the 26th of October and mine on the 26th of November! A month apart haha. (I must be slow if it took me slow long to realize haha)
Happy B-day!!
Haha, I love those bears! And those bowls. I have one that color except the orange is the background with white flowers.
Hope you had a wonderful thanksgiving!!
There’s nothing better than an extra long sleep after a filling meal!
those bowls are GORGEOUS…probably the best ones i’ve seen yet!
The first picture made me laugh…sounds like a fun day with your family!
I love your bowls! So cute!
Your bear scene cracked me UP!
I hear you on the 10 hours of sleep girlfriend!
Hopefully Rudi learned to stay away from alcohol. Your bear pics are always uplifting.
Those bowls are SO Cute!
Have fun today being tour guides:)
WHOA! I CAN’T BELIEVE YOU LET THE BEARS DRINK BEER!! LOlzzz. (Quirp…). That turkey was quite a lurkey! WWWWwooooooow wow wow woooooooowzzaaaaa. Bleck! MMMMMMM. I farted
So nice of you to stop by Razberri!
I would blame the malcontent reindeer for all the wild antics. He looks like nothing but trouble to me
Looks like a great morning – love the bowls and placemats!
I love the bears, that’s funny.
My sister lives in Chapel Hill and I think I’ll be getting placemats from that store for Hannukah or my birthday! So bright and pretty.
Jealous of your sleep time last night!
I love the bowls with the coral design on them. You have a unique blend of dishes!
So excited for you and Matt to open up your store!!! Can’t wait to visit!!!
Oh my gosh… sometimes when I see these bear posts and your stories, I can’t help getting excited about when you have real kids. Is that strange?!
The bears crack. me. up.
I love that you got your placemats from Southern Seasons. I was just there on Wednesday. I LOVE it! I must have wandered around there for at least 2 hours. It is a good thing I live in Chicago, that place could make me broke very quickly.
