Today was a lot of commotion and multitasking that left me pooped by 7:00 when I finally got organized again.
I decided I was starving at 4:30 and fueled up on carbs – Erewhon Raisin Bran with Peach and Soy Milk -
Consumed while I worked. Yeah, Gmail was down and I was mad!
The cereal filled me up a little too much because I never really got hungry for dinner.
But it wasn’t entirely to blame.
I broke into our new Target WINE CUBE at 7 to relax a bit! Matt was out running errands and I was bored.
Not the best chard ever, but definitely not the worst!
Then Amanda + Justin came over for a quick visit and I had a splash more!
I got a little hungry for some real food around 8:00. I had scratched the bean dish we had planned around 6:30 in exchange for some leftover Beer Cheese Soup Kris gave us on Saturday!
I had the last cup portion of that. It was fabulous, minus the definite onion-y taste that I tried to ignore while soaking up the beer + cheese flavor.
Served with some of Matt‘s latest – 30% whole grain sourdough baguette. Extremely chewy to the point of ripping off a bite like a wild animal!
To be completely classy about this meal, I had a splash more wine 
It was good and I am no longer hungry. Mission accomplished!
Excitement ensued this afternoon when I got a Mary Kay package in the mail. I met some Mary Kay peeps and BlogHer and they offered to send me a few fun surprises to try out.
The magnetic Mary Kay Compact sure is cool. It has these little inserts in all kinds of shades that you can pop in and out depending on your complexion. I’m very impressed with the lip gloss as well! This compact is going to be perfect for traveling. I love mineral make-ups, so I know I will love these.
I am also a huuuge fan of tinted lip balm. I love lip gloss + stick, but I always just kind of eat/rub it off. Tinted lip balm sticks with me, so I was excited to find these! Called the "little black dress" of make-up by Mary Kay, they’ve got SPF 15 and are made with green tea, jojoba oil, shea butter and vit A +C.
I was also sent the Timewise selection of products to test on my face… I’ve got wrinkles around my eyes already (SMILE!) so we’ll see if I notice a difference!
And last but not least, a huge selection of shower gel + sugar scrubs! I’m likin’ the smells already from the outside of the tubes!

You need to get over that aversion to onions that you have! Practically every cuisine in the world has onions as a common and necessary ingredient. Have you ever tried cooking them to a near caramelized state? Sautee them at a low temp in olive oil for 25 to 40 min. They’re delicious, sweet, and practically addictive. You can put them on whatever; your husband could put them in his bread as I have. I was thinking it might be a way to ease you into how yummy onions really are.
