Look who came to visit!!! Tina + Mal wanted to come to the South and we planned a visit a few months ago. We’re so excited to show them around!
Before heading to the airport, Matt and I walked to HT for some deli meat for tomorrow’s lunch and I had the best. snack. ever!
Oikos, blueberries, AgavePlus
Once back from the airport, the usual beerfest occured as Matt brought out some brews to share.
Cheers!
Tina and I shared a Carolina pumpkin ale (x2)
Look at these darling hand towels they brought as a house warming gift!!!!!!!!!!! Plus a cute Boston calendar
After some chatting and a house tour, we headed uptown for dinner – to meet a big group of friends!
At Zada Jane’s!!! Everyone’s been tellling me I had to go, and I was very impressed! Go look at the menu
It was so funky and cool inside -
I debated: wine/beer, wine/beer, wine/beer, but I settled on wine because I knew I’d make it last longer.
I had the True Earth Pinot – which was organic! Hoping this helps prevent a hangover
Matt got a Vanilla Porter, which was AMAZING!!
We decided to share an appetizer, and wanted the squash cakes but they had onions, so we went for the vegetarian nachoes. I had about 6-7 chips (?) and we shared the rest with the table.
Michelle + Ben let me taste their hummus + pimento cheese platter
For my entree I got The Chop Salad – Fresh broccoli, romaine, feta cheese, tomatoes, sprouts, roasted corn, garbanzo beans, carrots, mushrooms and parmesan croutons ~ with an AWESOME lemon dressing. Cleared my plate!
Matt got The No-Da Salad – Baked marinated tofu with tomatoes boil egg, artichoke hearts, avocado, roasted corn, white cheddar cheese, sunflower seeds, sprouts and organic spring mix – equally good!
They had Carrot Cake on the menu – how appropriate!
Diana got the most delicious Fuji Apple Caramel Cake and shared a bite. Love just having little tastes of things
Our group, minus Matt, who left early to go to bed for work tomorrow
Tomorrow we’re taking a trip to the low country!!
