[I think] the last time we were all together was at my wedding!! It was great to catch up with my college roomies, Meredith and Alaa’ – and on our old stomping ground too!
We had lunch at Toast, a little lunch shop on Main Street in Davidson. I was in the mood for something refreshing and ended up with a grilled chicken house salad. It exceeded my expectations!
Complete with a square of cornbread with apple butter
We chatted our way through lunch, just like old times
After lunch, we went down to the new Cats on Main Davidson store
I want it all!
And I can’t WAIT to have a kid so we can put this Bear-mobile in the crib
After shopping (I got an awesome Davidson mug!!) we went walking around campus.
Some photography in front of Chambers
Matt‘s senior apartment –
And ours!
Just like old times…
We peeked in the windows to discover a new floor and MALE inhabitants!
I wrote them a note
We went to our eating house
Just like old times…
And paid our respects to Matt‘s fraternity…
…just like old times
We discovered a new garden on campus! Go green!
And then said farewell. Until we meet again!
A long drive and a few hours later…. I played a double header. I didn’t realize until I was eating that I had basically the same meal for lunch and dinner!!
My turkey sandwich quickly morphed into a turkey salad with cranberry toast!
Spinach, carrot, celery, a slice of turkey, stuffing croutons, clementine and avocado. It rocked.
And a Great Harvest bun with cranberry sauce
Matt and I watched 40 Year Old Virgin tonight. Loved just vegging out. I thought the movie was just OK. I LOVE, LOVE Steve Carell, but I thought the movie got worse with time
Have a lovely night!

Davidson looks like a beautiful campus! College gear is so much fun! That bear mobile is adorable!
Awesome night! Stories like this make me happy to look ahead and think of the great friendships yet to be made in 3 1/2 years more of college
That’s so great you keep in touch with your college friends! I am rooming next year with a girl I used to be friends with in middle school!
Wow, really, you didn’t like 40 yr. old virgin? I loved it. The first time. I don’t think it’s one of those movies you can watch over and over. I’m actually watching Knocked Up right now for like the 5th time.
I’m so glad that you had so much fun!
And I just have to say that I am incredibly jealous of your fleece! I wish that they currently sold the women’s retro-x in that color! Is it windproof/warm?
I can’t wait to go back and visit my alma mater!
Cute pictures with the old roomies. I felt the same way with 40 Year Old Virgin – glad I’m not the only one!
Gorgeous scenery. So nice you had a good time with friends.
You can never go wrong with great big delicious salads! Yum
I loved the 40 year old virgin, but it’s weird, I’m not that crazy about The Office lol.

What a beautiful campus! It looks like you have a lot of fun catching up with your old friends. Great salads too.
The campus looks so pretty and makes me miss my college days! That’s awesome Matt is an SAE brother! My husband is a founding father at our campus at Mansfield University here is PA! gotta love the old college days : )
Your campus is beautiful!! I should of applied to Davidson! Can’t wait to see that mobile above the baby crib
The campus looks great. I remember loving fall at Davidson. Looks like you had a good holiday. Enjoy the rest of your weekend.
You three ladies are just gorgeous! How fun to meet up and spend a day together in such a familiar place.
I just love your salads today Kath! Seriously look so delicious. And that bun with jam is the epitome of delicious simplicity.
Looks like a fun day with friends!
And as for 40 Year-Old Virgin– the car scene with Leslie Mann makes the whole movie worthwhile, in my humble opinion
That dinner salad looks delicious.
It’s great to catch up with old friends — I’m lucky to see my college roomies almost every day, but it’s always fun to see someone you haven’t hung out with in awhile.
It looks like you had a beautiful day Kath! nothing like catching up with old great friends =)
p.s. i agree with Allie, i can’t wait to see the mobile above the crib either
What a great day
Old friends, fun times. I love how clementines are all over your blog! I see them in the grocery store and think “Kath!”
glad you got to meet up with friends. Your college is beautiful!
Meredeth and Alaa’ look wonderful. So nice to see them on the blog!
That dinner salad looks DELISH!!!!!
It’s always so fun to visit college after you’ve graduated!!! Especially when you’re with people you met there.
Lunch + Dinner look great, if it’s good why not have the same meal twice??
That’s so great you got to hang out with your college roomies! I don’t even keep in contact with mine unfortunately.
Love the picture of you and MAtt at his fraternity! Classic, haha
Pretty school. Pretty dinner.
Hanging out on campus with old friends is always a blast. I loved my campus and can’t wait to take Hunni back sometime since we met after school.
I’m jealous you got to go back and visit college. My boyfriend and I met while I was in grad school and we’d love to go back and visit our old haunts… Looks like you had lots of fun.
Aww what a fun day! Glad it was just like old times!!!
What a beautiful campus. Looks like you had a great day!
Beautiful campus! I think it’s hilarious that they have a Davidson mobile for a baby. Starting them early right? Oh and I agree about 40-year old virgin. It’s just one of those movies, it has funnier moments but all round the movie starts to decline. Glad you had a great day though!
So funny- we watched 40 Yr Old Virgin, too! Davidson is gorgeous- I gave a performance there in late September, and had breakfast at Toast!
My friends have a farm on the outskirts of town, and we loved cooking there after getting some great stuff at the Davidson Farmer’s Market behind the restaurant. http://deliciousbytes.blogspot.com/2009/09/chicken-tikka-masala-on-farm-in-nc.html
Oh how fun! I have never been to the Davidson farmer’s market – it wasn’t there when I was
That mobile is so cute!
Looks like you had a really great day, the campus is really pretty!
So nostalgic, hm? “Toast” is such a cute restaurant name! Love the cornbread hunk
Aww- those pictures make me miss Davidson! Sounds like there are a lot of new shops on Main St. to check out–I’ll get back there eventually! = )
Have you been back to see the development on the way into town? It’s insane!
K
Kath, I am so stealing your salad! I was thinking the other day about something more… seasonal. Your salad is perfect for a plated app!
Thank you for that!
