Cue The Rascals – It’s a beautiful mornin’
I was expecting rain, so I’m in a good mood
Headed out for a yoga class in just a few!
Pumpkin Pear Creamy Muffin Oats started my morning off to the right tune
I stirred a tbsp of leftover heavy whipping cream into the pot. Wish I could say it tasted amazing, but I couldn’t taste it! Next time I’ll whip it
The Mix
- 2 tbsp hot cereal
- 1/4 cup oats
- 1/4 cup milk
- 1/2 cup water
- Half of a big pear
- 1 tbsp chia seeds
- Salt, Cinnamon
- 2 tbsp pumpkin (lighter ’cause Matt was sharing the pot!)
- Crumbled Fig Apricot muffin
- Sunflower butter
- A tsp of Justin’s Choco Hazelnut
There are so many alien cats in our neighborhood! I think they all have homes (and Matt is allergic) but it’s really fun to get to play with them at times.
My shoulders NEED some yoga today – I already miss doing it as many times a week as I was when I had the unlimited pass. Gotta get back to that!

That second photo with the sunlight streaming in is beautiful!
Ah my entire body needs yoga today. I’m so stiff from weightlifting!
Great weather. The oats look amazing, love all the fall flavors.
yum! did you cook the pear before you mixed it into the oats?
No, I just put it in at the beginning of cooking
I was expecting aday of rain today too – one shower and it’s over *I hope*!
I love that bowl, where’s it from?
Homegoods! Not sure they have them in England!/
On the occations that I have a tbsp of cream left over I usually stir it in at the end of cooking my oats – I really like it that way, even thoguh it does alter the texture slightly. I luv heavy cream!!!
Having access to unlimited yoga is amazing! I volunteer at a local studio so I get to go to classes for free. So grateful for that.
I am hoping for a beautiful day here! We are about to make our bedroom into our office and vice versa so madness in the house is about to begin! I will need that yoga too by this afternoon! Enjoy your day Kath!
Aww – living vicariously through your beautiful day! It is drrrrrreary here.
Looks like a beautiful start to the day!
I’m finding the more yoga I do, the more my body craves it! I start to feel achy and tight! Weird, huh?
Thanks for the ear worm
Your house is so pretty in the morning- it always makes me wish I was at home in PA with the sunshine streaming into my bedroom windows!!
Man…I wish I had been surprised by blue skies this morning!! Enjoy yoga!
Love your house! So pretty!!
Your oat are looking extra creamy today ::)
your oatmeal looks like a pie that was slaved over for hours upon hours. lovin the addition of fig apricot yum
I would love yoga for a week right now! My body really needs it. Yoga is the best remedy for a runner. Your oatmeal looks very festive today.
I sure hope that sunshine makes it’s way up the coat to MD!!!!
that’s supposed to be “coast” not coat….clearly it’s cold here and I’m shocked I had to wear a coat this morning.
Kath, you need a cat!!!!
I love talking to the kitties around the ‘hood when I take walks or go running.
Pear + pumpkin = perfect combination. Delish in the dish!
cute kitty!
beautiful pics as always kath… food as art. love it!
My mother in law’s neighborhood is full of cats — and yes they all have homes but the neighbors around there just let the cats roam free. I’d be nervous to let my pets out like that, but it seems to work for them!
Your home is so gorgeous Kath! You’re so lucky to have all that sunlight – it’s so dark and rainy here today.. yuck! Breakfast looks lovely
a nonfood comment: i love your bowl, placemat and cup. all different and cute together!
Hope you have a good yoga session! I’m headed to one in a little bit too
Never thought of crumbling a muffin in something like that… sounds delish!
I know how you feel! Im just getting back into it, twice a week, but i want it every day! Wish i had the time!!
Kitty! Aww, there’s so many strays where I live as well! Must be a mid-atlantic thing
haha.
Enjoy your yoga
love that picture of your house! Looks like a completely beautiful morning. Makes me wish I was enjoying the sunshine instead of stuck at work.
I puffy heart you house!!!
your
Isn’t it wonderful waking up to beautiful weather?
That cat is so cute. I have a cat that looks like that who comes by my house (I think he’s homeless though) and I always feed him. He’s the sweetest cat ever.
Aw i love cats!
And it sounds like such a nice morning!
My oatmeal bowl as of late is Asian pear and banana; the pumpkin would be fabulous though. They don’t sell canned pumpkin in my neck of the woods; I just have to really plan ahead and cook it myself I guess.
Yay for sun! It’s a mild, sunny fall day here in IL. Loving it:)
Jealous of your weather right now. We’re in a rain rut. Enjoy the sun!
Wohoo for good weather days. We(Austin,TX) are finally in the high 50′s early morning and it’s glorious!!!!!
Time for Soup, Chili and Oatmeal!
Babs
I’ve found that the best way to incorporate a bit of cream into oatmeal is to pour it over top. That way the taste doesn’t get lost. My faaave is peaches (stirred in) and cream
.
nothing like morning’s light! I love the feel of the light reaching in and “waking up” all the corners of my house in the morning…It looks like you do to!
Your house is simply lovely.

The cream sounds like it would be amazing! Bummer that you couldn’t taste it!
the cream sounds incredible! too bad you couldn’t taste it…i bet whipping will make a big difference though
I am soo jealous… I can’t wait until Sunday when I get to go to my Bikram Yoga class… It is sooo relaxing for me afterwards, I feel like I am on a natural high after class. I haven’t been in a long time so I am sure it will feel new to me all over again. The heat definitely takes some getting use to, but I believe the benefits are sooo worth it.
Too bad you couldn’t taste the heavy cream. You should totally whip it next time. Add some chocolate and slivered almonds and you’ll have yourself an oatmeal sundae, lol.
I wish I had alien cats in my neighborhood! Joe is allergic and its so sad because I am a major cat lover! Once, there was one that came on to my deck and I got so excited. I even bought cat food incase it came back. Then I realized it belonged to a neighbor. I’m such a weirdo! Have fun at yoga!
We have a neighbor’s cat that is overly friendly and will just walk right into the house if she sees the door open for a second! My cat doesn’t like her so it’s not the best scenario haha
i’m allergic to cats too, but luckily not doggies! have a great day.
I feel bad because my husband really loves cats, but I am completely allergic! And I think they’re evil
Those oats look fabulous! I love all of your pictures – the sky looks so clear and beautiful
Have a great yoga class!
We have a neighborhood cat that kind of roams as well – the husband is allergic as well. He knows if I’ve touched one or not!
That absolutely is a beautiful morning. Gotta love it!
This is random but I LOVE the decorative handle on the spoon in your oats! I love fancy/decorative everyday objects, they make the everyday more exciting.
i don’t know why, but your oatmeal today looks especially delish! chomp!
I adore your couch covers/fabric! So stylish yet homey!
