Surprised by sunshine!
I set my alarm this morning so I wouldn’t oversleep – we have a farmer’s market to get to! And a 10am Body Pump class. Wheeee!
But first, gotta love on some oats.
The art of OIAJ:
Jar Of {Oatmeal} Arts
- 1/4 cup scottish oats
- 1/2 cup water
- 1/2 cup milk
- 1/2 banana
- 1 tbsp chia seeds
- Pinch salt, splash vanilla
- Lots of Blue Diamond love on the bottom
- Coconut on top
Got some biking to do!

Hope you find some good buys at the farmer’s market! Have a great Saturday!
Yum! I’m in the mood for coconut.
However, I’m off to make some more English muffins this morning.
Have a great day!
~
Did you say “make your own” ??!
Gosh – I can almost feel the freshness of the morning there.
Yep. I’ve been making my own English muffins for about 2 months now! They are amazing, and super simple. I use a modified version of the “Soaked Engish Muffin” recipe, from Taste is Trump, and Faith (Gracefulfitness).

YAY for a GORGEOUS morning! It was lovely as always to hang last night, have a great weekend!
Enjoy the Farmers Market! I’m off for a run!
I love sunny days! They’re even better when they’re a surprise.
As sad as I get when my nut butters run out there is nothing better than overnight oats in the jar I love scraping every last little bit out. Enjoy your bike ride and the gorgeous weather!
Have fun at the Farmer’s Market! It’s beautiful here and I can’t wait to get outside!
I love Farmer’s Markets. I hope you have lots of fun. Your OIAJ looks delicious! Coconut is an awesome topping idea
It looks like a beautiful morning there!
Have fun at the market! Our Spring one doesn’t start until May
I went to the winter one last week though. Anyway, it’s sunny here too! Woo
Coconut is the best topping…it looks like such a beautiful morning!
I am in LOVE with your spoons. So pretty
Have fun at the Farmers Market – ours don’t start until June. I am very jealous!
I can’t wait for the farmer’s market to open here!
mmmm i bet scottish oats would be delicious in a jar. creamy!!!
Wow that’s great that you can be outside! It is still way too cold here in Michigan. Have a great weekend!
Ahhh! Our farmers market is open too, but I keep forgetting! Have fun, and yay for sunshine!!
For some reason those pics make almond butter seem ridiculously appealing. I may have to finally switch up my pb obsession!
Have fun at the farmer’s market!!!! Can’t wait to see what goodies you find!
The leftover nut butter is the best part of OIAJ!
You make oats on the stove, correct? I’ve been making them in the microwave and I definitely don’t want to heat them up in a plastic container. I figured I could just make them in a different bowl and then pour them into the jar.
hope you guys have a blast at the farmer’s market! it’s a little early for ours but i’m getting pumped already for mid-april
Farmers Market sounds fun! And I’ve yet to perfect OIAJ – maybe because I scrape every single last bit of nut butter before I decide it’s time.
Kath, this is SUCH an amateur question, but I gotta ask it!
When you make OIAJ is it okay not to eat all of the nut butter from it and use it for another oats creation or do you usually scoop the jar clean the one time you use it? I’ve alllways wondered this cause sometimes I just don’t feel like eating all the nut butter from it, but I figure it’ such a waste to toss it out..
thanks! I bet you’re having an aweeesome time at body pump right now
I only make OIAJ when there is about a tbsp (give or take) left in the jar. I lick it clean like a doggie and then recycle or wash and reuse the jar. I wouldn’t put oats in there – dip your spoon and germs in – and then when you get to the nut butter put the jar back on the shelf. That seems like it might grow some bacteria.
Sounds like you have a great morning planned. I can feel the spring. I hope we catch up to you soon.
Sounds like a fabulous Saturday morning. I can’t wait until the Farmer’s Market starts again in Wisconsin… it’s such a great way to spend the morning, out in the sun, discovering amazing new foods!
sounds like a great Saturday morning! Enjoy!
Have fun at the market Kath! I don’t think ours opens for another couple of weeks but when it does I’ll be all over it!!
Havea great day at the farmers market! I’ve never been to one, sadly. I love OOIAJ! Yours looks amazing.
Have a great time at the Farmer’s Market this morning! The OIAJ look great – I’ll be able to enjoy them in a couple of days too – yayy!

Enjoy the day! <3
It’s supposed to 80* today after some ups and downs with snow mixed in here — yay! At least one of our farmer’s markets is opening today, too! I love Spring
Glad you’re having sunny weather for the farmer’s market. Have a great weekend:)
Send some sunshine my way!
I have seen that almond butter at my store but haven’t tried it yet! Did you like it? Sounds like you have a fun Saturday planned!
I absolutely love that spoon! Where did you get it??
Wooden Hive’s Etsy Store
Mmm, coconut on oats! How artsy
Hope the farmers market/biking/body pump go great for ya! Have a nice day
Jealous that the farmer’s market is open there already. Have a little bit longer to wait here until that! Hope you end up with some nice finds.
Have a good day and enjoy the sun!
Do you have any tips for being on a gluten free and dairy free diet? You helped me get a referral to an RD. Thanks so much for that! I’m on day 3 and want to scream
Seana,
I could provide some tips, but since I’m not gluten or dairy free, you might consider reading some bloggers who are – they would have much better visuals and recipes. Ashley @ Edible Perspective just did a big elimination diet with good examples, and I know there are other bloggers who are gluten free + vegan
Thank you. I will check out Ashley. If you can thing of any other bloggers let me know. Thanks again!
Going to the farmer’s market is my favourite Saturday activity. Have fun!
Busy morning! The oats look fabulous, cute spoon.
I love that bicycle napkin you have! That is SO cool!!!
am I missing out on how so many people it oiaj? do you go through that many jars?
I only do it maybe twice a month?
Body Pump, OIAJ, and the farmer’s market sounds like a great way to start a beautiful Saturday!
YUM I love blue diamond.. there’s something so different about it than other nut butters.
Empty nut bar jars are so bittersweet! Can’t wait for my next opportunity for oiaj!
Yeah for sunshine!!!
Delicious looking breakfast!
Hopefully, we do not see more winter weather until next winter, and we are off to sunshine at least a couple days a week–I am not asking much
We need more Vitamin D from the sun!
That is a cute idea to do to your spoon!

That jar looks delicious! Generous portion of almond butter at the bottom. Yum, yum!
I love using the bottom of the jar to enjoy your oatmeal! I love how festive you make all of your oatmeal–I always just have oats, oat milk, banana, cinnamon, and sometimes peanut butter. I think I need to get a little more creative!
I can’t get over the personalized spoons you have for your household… you got them from Etsy, right?!
Almond butter on bottom, coconut on top = heavenliness.
I’m sure you’ve been asked this question a million times, but since I’m a newbie: where did you get that amazing spoon!?
See my response up there ^^^
WHOOPS! Totally missed that. Thanks! Beyond cute.
Where did you get that bike place mat?
It’s a towel from Oh Little Rabbit on Etsy
Hey, that’s a great way to get that last little bit of nut butter out of the jar!I’ll remember that for next time…
