I’ve Got Sunscreen Under My Makeup

February 28, 2011

Up early today, but is there anything better than eating fresh fruit on a terrace for breakfast? I feel like we’re at a wedding reception with all the round tables and bright colors!

I was ecstatic to see Naturally Nutty peanut butters for eating! Naturally Nutty and Great Harvest have a partnership, so the owners are here this weekend (Can’t wait to meet Katie, who I’ve worked with through KERF for a few years!)

Two NEW flavors!!

I had a ton of delicious fruit, plus a cinna raisin toast with the two new flavors and Great Harvest jam. This jam is the best I have EVER had!! Matt and I finished off a jar of it at home last week we brought home from Montana. Plus a hard boiled egg for a protein component.

We learn in the morning, and network in the afternoon – on the beach!

Wow that terrace looks beautiful! What a fun way to start the week. And chocolate sunflower butter?? Yes, please!!

2 Kay February 28, 2011 at 8:25 am

Man, I love going to events with huge breakfast spreads. It’s always a treat because I never have such a variety of fruit to pick from at home. Lucky you! — Great Harvest seems like such a wonderful and caring company to be a part of, with ‘real food’ too!

I’m jealous of you in sunny FL. Sunscreen! North Carolina is still sweater weather.

3 kalli February 28, 2011 at 8:27 am

wow this seems like such a fun even. jeolous of your work!

4 Meg February 28, 2011 at 8:28 am

I JUST left Florida yesterday, so I’m SUPER jealous of you 😉 Soak up the sunshine for me?! 😀

Enjoy your day and that spread sounds delicious!

5 Joyce @ Flowing to Fifty February 28, 2011 at 8:34 am

Looks like it’s going to be a gorgeous day! Enjoy the warm weather, the beach, and the yummy breakfast. It’s snowing in Ontario….but I’m glad to be living vicariously through you.

6 Mimi February 28, 2011 at 8:36 am

I’ve been working my way through a jar of the Naturally Nutty Chocolate Sunflower Seed Butter. It’s incredible!

7 Camille February 28, 2011 at 8:39 am

8 Holly @ Couch Potato Athlete February 28, 2011 at 8:50 am

Wow what a spread — that fruit looks so fresh and delicious.

Enjoy your day!

9 Emily @ Perfection Isn't Happy February 28, 2011 at 8:54 am

I’m jealous of your ability to eat breakfast outside, and your proximity to the beach :).

10 Megan February 28, 2011 at 8:57 am

Gorgeous breakfast offerings! Hope you three enjoy a great day and learn a lot about your great harvest store!

Somewhat inspired by your home neat home posts, I decided to get rid of some unneeded stuff!

11 Kristina February 28, 2011 at 9:14 am

YUM! I love breakfast buffets!!! And also could really use some warm weather right now… my parents are going to FL for spring break, my sister is going to CA… and I am going to …. Ohio? Oh the things we do for the ones we love….

12 Jen @ keepitsimplefoods.com February 28, 2011 at 9:20 am

Matt looks kinda hungover- hee hee.;) Your breakfast sounds amazing! Much better than what I ate this morning.

13 Angela @ Eat Spin Run Repeat February 28, 2011 at 9:20 am

YUMMM everything looks delicious! I love how colourful the fruit is – lately I’ve been eating mostly apples and oranges because berries aren’t really in season (and the ones I’ve bought just don’t taste right!). Have a fab day!

14 Amanda (Eating Up) February 28, 2011 at 9:23 am

Cinnamon cashew butter? No way!

15 Evan Thomas February 28, 2011 at 9:24 am

I think the Naturally Nutty PB would have just completed the whole vaca for me. Can’t wait to see you meet Katie! She’s always seemed really sweet and an inspiration for home businesses.

16 Maryann (The Balanced Bean) February 28, 2011 at 9:25 am

Amazing! I have yet to try naturally nutty nut butters. Sounds like such a great time!

17 Justeen @ Blissful Baking February 28, 2011 at 9:25 am

Those new nut butter flavors sounds absolutely delicious!! I am currently obsessed with sunflower seed butter… I made my own this weekend and it is SO good – I just can’t get enough! The chocolate version sounds amazing!

18 Sarah @ The Strength of Faith February 28, 2011 at 9:28 am

How fun! Is there anyone else there that is just starting up like you?

19 cathyb@brightbakes February 28, 2011 at 9:28 am

I love breakfast events! And al fresco? Even better…how my Wisconsin skin yearns for a feel of springtime air!
Gorgeous fruits ‘n bread… :)

20 Sarena (The Non-Dairy Queen) February 28, 2011 at 9:32 am

That is the way to start your day! I hope you have a great one Kath! Enjoy the sun and fun!

21 Fallon February 28, 2011 at 9:35 am

You should bring Naturally Nutty back to Open Sky!!! I miss not having them in the kitchen. They are the best nut butters.

22 Ann @ Day By Day February 28, 2011 at 9:46 am

That looks like the most amazing business trip! Beautiful breakfast on the beach… what more could you ask for? And I definitely need to try Naturally Nutty. I almost always buy new (to me) nut butters, because I want to know which ones really are the best, but I have yet to try those. Have fun learning! It’ll be more fun than my morning learning: an accounting class.

23 val @ lots of dishes February 28, 2011 at 9:54 am

Are those tiny little jam jars? I would totally take a few of those home if they had leftovers if I were you. Also, as a lot of other people said, that breakfast has me craving fruit!

24 Amanda- The Nutritionist Reviews February 28, 2011 at 9:54 am

Wow! That looks so delicious!! I just found out that Naturally Nutty is made only like 2 hours from where I live : )

25 Stacie @ Imperfectly Healthy February 28, 2011 at 10:01 am

What a nice sunrise!

And Naturally Nutty!!! I love their nut butters! :)

26 Jess (Sweet Potato) February 28, 2011 at 10:03 am

Gosh, that sounds like an amazing conference. Learn in the morning, network in the afternoon on the beach. None of the conferences I’ve ever been to have been that amazing!

27 Runeatrepeat February 28, 2011 at 10:08 am

I haven’t been able to find Naturally Nutty any where since we moved away from MD :( It was the best I’ve ever tried.

28 Ashley February 28, 2011 at 10:11 am

I realllllly need to make more cashew butter! Have fun today!

29 Andrea from chocolateandoranges February 28, 2011 at 10:13 am

Any possibility that Naturally Nutty’s new flavors are coming to a “KERF store near you” I hope? 😉

Those nut butters looks amazing. Do you know if they’re available in Canada?

Enjoy the sun! Here in Vancouver, we’re covered in a blanket of thick, white snow. Definitely little-no sun action right now!

43 Taylor (Delish World) February 28, 2011 at 11:52 am

Chocolate sunflower seed butter?!! I need some ASAP!

Have fun in the sun! It’s black as night here in Northern VA. We’re about to get hammered with t-storms!

You look like you’re getting sun!! Have fun :)

I’ve never been to a Great Harvest (I live in Philly) but it’s on my radar and I’m definitely on the lookout to visit ones when I travel. Hopefully a PA branch will open soon! I know there’s some in DE but not in PA yet.

This trip looks like so much fun!! I am soooo jealous of where you are right now! I am in freezing Chicago.

I found Naturally Nutty’s website and ordered a few flavors! Where do you get your jams in Charlottesville? Or are do you grab up the GH flavors when you can?
