I Heart Mornings

I really love the morning (when I don’t have to race to be somewhere ;) ) and today was a beautiful one. After reading emails + blogs in bed on my iPhone (my new favorite way to wake up – who needs to the snooze button!), I came down to try to figure out what to have for breakfast. Nothing hit me. It was too cold for a smoothie. Oatmeal + pancakes were too much work. So I decided I was in the mood for a bowl of cereal and coffee!

To combat my sogginess/eating quickly dilemma from last week, I used half the amount of milk and it worked perfectly!

IMG_8878 (1024x768)

I  used ~3/4 a cup of me&goji, 1/2 a cup blueberries, half a banana, 1/2 a cup milk (carefully poured straight to the bottom) and some Naturally Nutty White Chocolate Coconut Peanut Butter.

Plus a frothy mug of Andrea’s Charlottesville coffee.

Delish!

I spent Wed + Thurs frantically busying myself on the computer so today I could focus on getting ready for some surprise houseguests for tonight!! I realized yesterday that the grass really should be cut, so even though I have a running date with Stacey, I probably need to do that too.

3 more hours left to bid on the Summit Ticket!!

See ya 4 lunch

That is my all-time favorite cereal combo! Cereal, milk, banana, blueberries, and PB. Yummm. It’s great if you throw it in the microwave for a few seconds, too. :)

main reason why I love weekends so much — the mornings! I love having TIME to unwind at my leisure instead of RUSH RUSH RUSH. Yummy start to the day! Have a great afternoon ;)

Mmm looks good. I think I’ll include blueberries into my breakfast somehow too. I woke up on my phone too, but not with the same pretenses as you. how is wordpress on the iphone, or is there an app? there is one for my blackberry storm and it is okay i guess, but i havent done much with it either.

Hey Kath!

I love the idea of cereal in the morning, but I just don’t have faith it will do the trick until 12pm! Does it keep you satisfied for a decent time?

Happy Friday :)

I LOVE my cereal soggy- I made a bowl earlier with berries/fruit on the bottom, added milk then poured cereal on top (playing around with photos, lol) and the cereal stayed crunchy…not how I like it, but worth a shot for all you guys who like crunch in the morning!

Relaxing mornings are the best. My husband actually let me sleep in this morning. It was divine to get an extra hour of sleep and then eat breakfast.

BTW I love that you use mowing the lawn for exercise instead of a gas guzzling riding mower. If only I wasn’t allergic to cut grass I would totally do that too.

Coffee Froth is from the French press! Pouring the hot water on the grounds makes it lightly foam.

See lunch post for cereal hold-over tips! The secret is a hearty fiber cereal with some fat and volume from fruit.

Jessica ,
My blog won’t work with the Wordpress app :( But if it did it would rock! I need to update my version or make some changes somehow.

Until I found the blogging community, I had never thought to put PB on cereal – but what a fab combo!

Kath,

Glad the milk skimpage worked for you. I always find that a 1/2 cup of milk is pleanty and makes the cereal the perfect consistency. It also lasts so much longer before getting soggy.

Enjoy your weekend!
