I slept until 8:45 this morning!!!!!!!!!!!!! We slept with the windows opened and it was party city outside of the apartment. I lost an ear plug early in the night and unfortunately tossed and turned a bit, but apparently I made up for this sleeping in! I vaguely remember hearing Matt make sniffing noises for like an hour and it turns out he had been awake the whole time.

We had plans to tour Northeastern this morning, so I quickly got dressed to join Larbs for a workout. (Larbs’ Matt was at a soccer game)

Before I left I had 3/4 of a giant banana with freshly ground, honey roasted PB. WOW – this may win the peanut butter of the year award!!! I can’t believe I haven’t ever tried the freshly ground stuff!?!? It was gritty and grainy (loved the texture) and the roasted flavor was phenomenal.

Larbs took me to the Northeastern gym, which is brand new and awesome. We chatted through 30 minutes of elliptical ling and then 15 breathless minutes on the Stairmaster, and just 2-3 of weights before we ran out of time and had to get on our way. (Matt had gone to the Y across the street with Larbs’ Matt’s card!) We met him and grabbed a few coffees – cappuccino for me – and walked back home.

The workout felt great and I feel all clean and refreshed after a shower :)

It’s 11:30 now and lunch is at 12:30 so I think I’m going to skip over a second breakfast so I’m hungry for lunch. The coffee with milk helped tide me over.

We have a surprise visitor here in Boston to join us for the day’s activities!!

See you later!

I love fresh ground peanut butter, too. At the Farmer’s Market in Raleigh, there is a vendor that has some from peanuts they grow, it is so delicious!

I’m confused. Detroit, Northeastern, Bosten. How did you get to Bosten?

We have a natural food store here that does freshly ground honey roasted PB and it looks AMAZING! You’ve just convinced me to pay the obscenely large amount of money and try it out :)

PS – I slept til 8:15 this morning! I was so excited!! It’s not easy for us early risers ;)

i agree about that PB! WF’s freshly ground honey roasted is probably the best i’ve ever had! I haven’t been able to eat conventional pb since. The peanut flavor is so strong that the other stuff tastes like goop.

You are the 2nd person in the last three days to say that fresh ground honey roasted peanut butter tastes great! My next trip to Whole Foods I’m so gonna try it!

I’m sure you guys already have your days planned/packed but if you have a free moment I HIGHLY recommend Sunset Grill. You said in the last post that Matt didn’t get to go on the last trip and I think he would love it – the beer menu is pages, and pages, and pages long!

i always walk past the fresh ground nut butter section of whole foods and wonder. i need to give it a try!

One of my all-time favorites is peanut butter spread on a banana… I’m sure fresh ground PB on a banana is even better though! Yummy

Isn’t it awesomely ridiculous that the Northeastern gym is RIGHT above the au bon pain?! I could never work out to the smell of baking bread!

1) if someone has recommended thai food , you must go, there is nothing decent down here in NC :p

2) there is THE BEST shoe store right off the t-stop in harvard square

3) don’t forget the open market!!!

4) i put up a really cool body pledge, i know you’re traveling, but when you have time, check it out and perhaps give it a shout out if you’re feeling the love :p

but above all, have a wonderful time!!!!

I go to Northeastern! Ah crazy. Our gyms are really great, the smaller one (Squashbusters) on Columbus Ave have tv screens in the cardio equipment. NU is a great school, not to mention its perfect location in Boston (far better than BU or BC). I hope you loved it! Why were you touring? What did you think?!

I have been telling people for years how great peanut butter and honey sandwiches are, and until you said that noone had ever heard of that made-in-heaven combo! (I also love to put PB and honey on a tortilla and throw it in the microwave for a few seconds…. soooo good!!)

Kath-
I have been a blog reader for about six months now, but have never really commented. BUT GUESS WHAT?! I WORK AT THE NU GYM! I cannot believe I missed you! (I thought that was worthy of a comment) One place to check out (if you have time) is the Other Side Cafe. Tons of great food options (lots of veggie ones, too), huge beer selection, an edgy atmosphere, and decent prices! Hope you are loving Boston!

I LOVE the freshly ground stuff! My only problem with it is that it doesn’t last as long, and it makes me feel too rushed to finish it. But honey roasted PB is divine- yum!

Kath! I can’t believe you have never tried the freshly ground pb!! =) It’s hard to eat the regular jarred stuff anymore, although once in awhile I crave the creamy PB that comes from the jar. You need to try the fresh ground almond butter now. They have it at Earthfare and it’s def. waaay cheaper than the kind you get in the jar =) Happy munching! We should definitely set up a time to grab a bite…You should def. try to swing by the market one Saturday as well. Ciao for now!
