Just realized that last year we had lots of wind and my post was titled almost the same as this morning’s – I swear I didn’t know!
2009 – Wind In The Pillows
2010 – Wind In The Willows
Another similarity?
7.0 miles in 60 minutes!
2009 – Read, Run, Relax, Repeat
2010 -
We set out on a run that covered the span of the island – 7.0 miles total. Just like last year! Last year’s 7 was the first long run in my half marathon training. I’d love to work my way up to run another half, but I just am not sure when to commit to it. Maybe this milestone should be the beginning again, just like last year?
We set out really FAST – I think because we all had fresh legs from our cooped up day yesterday.
Mile 1 – 7:57 (!!)
Mile 2 – 8:00
Mile 3 – 8:26
Then I got a side stitch. Too fast too soon! We walked for a few seconds and I caught my breath. Then we resumed and finished the final 4 miles between 8:30 and 8:50.
I ran as fast as I could and just about lost my breath in the last stretch. We made it with 20 seconds to spare!!
Within seconds of arriving home, Matt fed me a few orange slices – just what my whole body needed!
The others deserted us for a photograph, so here’s me and Andrew
Feeling great now!! I’ve got that metabolic boost that makes me feel all hot on the inside from the hard run.
After showers, lunch came next – more hydrating citrus!
A Hugh Jass grapefruit
Plus toast with PB and J, a carrot and some chips
Larbs made these pumpkin cups for tonight’s dessert and we sampled one after lunch –
This morning I took a bunch of headshots of my mom for her website (she’s an author!) They turned out pretty nice! Which is your favorite?
More colors: these beautiful colored plates are going on a flash sale through OpenSky tomorrow as the first of a series of awesome dishware deals!! They’re perfect for bloggers who need a variety of plate colors ; )

I have been loving citrus lately! My parents sent us an assorted case and it has been so good! I love the second to the last pic of your mom! Enjoy the rest of your day with family!
I like the very last pic. Those colors look great on her!
Me too!! Overall, though, I think I prefer all the brighter pictures because it is easier to see her face in them – but the last one is my favorite. Enjoy your family time!!
Another vote for the last one. Or number 5 (counting as you read Left->Right then Top->Bottom)
Yep, last one. Love the colors and the close-up.
I totally agree! The last one. That blue looks great on her, your mom is beautiful.
Same here–I like the ones with the blue scarf also; either of the last two are my pick!
I agree either of the last two! I like the colors

Your lunch sounds so perfect!
I’m really loving grapefruits right now
Lovely pics of your mom
Citrus fruit does sound very refreshing; I could use some of that!
I like the top right photo of your mom best. It’s clear, bright, and makes her look very professional yet friendly.
Yay for long, post- holiday runs! I just ran a 6 mile loop in an hour and it felt GREAT
Don’t you love that post- run feeling?
LOVE the second to last photo of your madre– what a good photographer you are!
Is that really how you eat your grapefruit? I’ve never peeled it like that….EVER! Very interesting, I’m learning something new all the time!! Looks delicious, none-the-less.
PS. I prefer the scarf pictures as well. All but the first one where it looks like the lamp shade is sitting right above her head. (Or top row-on the right) Very nice expression!
I don’t like much about winter, but I do love this time of the year for citrus–especially grapefruit!!
It is definitely time for citrus! We have a whole bag of oranges in the garage just begging to be nommed (or juiced)!
I like the very last photo on the left.
I’m craving grapefruit after reading this post! X

I like the second one in the first set!! Yum, grapefruit. Just got back from the grocery store and I’m glad I bought some!
Definitely one with a scarf! Looks like you’re having a blast with your fam! Larbs…the pumpkin cups look delish! Props!
I like the close up of your mom- the last one!
I like the two where you can’t see the chair in the back.
In all the other ones, I just wonder why she isn’t sitting in it hahaha
I like the fourth one down on the left side – with the pinks.
I’m so jealous that you’re relaxing on the coast…I don’t want to go back to work tomorrow!
I like the one with you and Andrew hahaa jk jk. Def the second one of your mom with the scarf!!
How ironic with the similarities with your posts from last year! It’s tradition for sure now!

Ooh, what kind of writing does your mom do?
Ditto on the last photo

The last one. Mom has beautiful skin and this photo does her the most justice .
Your mom looks great in all the pics, but I do like the bottom left one the best. Those colors work really well with her skin tones!
Enjoy the rest of the time with your family. It goes so quickly!
I love your running shirt with the thumbholes! I am always looking for running gear with thumbholes. They’re the best!
The pic of you and andrew really shows who has been outside haha I’ve been bundled up since November and am not taking off any layers until March! I really like the last pic of your mom; it shows her really smiling
I like the top right blue scarf pic of your mom, she is so photogenic! just like your whole fam
I like the 4th one down best. Red shirt + blue scarf = perfect combo
and the books in the background are the perfect touch.
Is that really all you ate after running 7 miles?!?!
Love the last one of her. The blue is gorgeous.
Pumpkin cups?! Yum!

Those colorful plates are awesome! They would go good in my colorful house! I am not afraid of color and I have orange and red walls to prove it!
Sounds like you are having such a good time on the island
Ohhh, I want those pumpkin cups! There’s nothing like that in Australia at ALL!
We get really bad wind storms here in the winter which makes a 20 degree day feel like -10! I try to get outside for my runs but on days like that the treadmil wins!
Speedy run! Your cheeks are so rosy, it must have been freezing!
I vote for the top right picture. Your mama is beautiful!
I love grapefruits, that looked so good! Well done on the run!
LOVE the plates. Are they plastic, ceramic?
Ceramic, I believe. Not plastic!
Congrats on your killer run!
Pumpkin cups? Yum! Does Larbs have a recipe for those?
On her blog, yes, she linked to it.
7 miles in that cold weather is very impressive! Nice job!
The top right picture of your mom is the best one!
I like last on the left pic too… scarf looks so pretty! I can’t wait to make Larbs’ pumpkin cups! Enjoy your holiday, and happy new year!
Those are beautiful photos of her! I like last one on the left – she looks natural, approachable, and the photo has a nice balance.
Definitely the 3rd or 5th from top leftside as best pic of your mom!! A natural smile! Hi everyone!
