Hotel Martha Jefferson

September 10, 2012

Good morning!! The bears love their new brother – they made a special hospital trip with Grammie Buzz for the occasion!

I miss you all so much. I miss regular blogging and it feels really weird to go to bed without posting!  I have SO MUCH I want to share and no time to sit down and write! Maze is keeping us very busy, but I’m sure we’ll get in a more regular pattern soon : ) My parents are here and are a tremendous help with all the household things so Matt and I can focus on taking care of the baby and resting.

I want to go back in time for a bit and share some of the meals I had while in the hospital! I was famished after labor and delivery and pretty much not eating and throwing everything up. The hospital food tasted SO GOOD though and although we had other snacks (like GH bread) to munch on, I was very excited when my trays arrived : ) I shared 25% or so with Matt and he also had some salads and meals from the cafeteria that were pretty tasty.

Day 1 breakfast and lunch: eggs, toast, milk, banana and then the cod and rice meal.

IMG_5196 IMG_5219

Dinner that night was meatloaf and mashed potatoes, which I wolfed down so fast I don’t remember eating them! For some reason 2% milk tastes like liquid gold to me.

Breakfast the next morning I got to order – I chose waffles and oatmeal and yogurt (hungry when I ordered!) I probably only ate about 60% of this tray and shared the rest with Matt, but it was fun to taste everything.

He dolled up my waffles and oatmeal for me : ) (Peanut butter from home)

IMG_5253 IMG_5247

Day 2 lunch was a pork chop, but I opted for the alternative hummus sandwich and tomato soup instead. I wanted something a little lighter than a dinner entrée for lunch.

IMG_5273 IMG_5274

My dinner came at 5pm, and although we had plans for a pizza party after, I ate some of it as a snack.

Chicken and rice soup, a biscuit, salad and fruit.

My parents brought in some Christian’s pizza and Karen arrived home from NYC in time for our party!

We said cheers with a little pumpkin beer!!! [Can you tell I burst all the blood vessels in my eyes!?]

Maze said “y’all are being too loud! I’m trying to sleep!”

Great Harvest cookies for dessert : )

Day 3’s breakfast was by far the best – a giant fresh-made pancake which I topped with some butter and syrup! Plus oatmeal (that Matt had) and hot tea, milk and a banana.

Baby breakfast was some delicious milk ; )

After breakfast, it was time to start thinking about going home!

We dressed him in his finest and brought in the carseat. His hat is from Baby GAP that we picked out as his first clothing item after we found out he was a boy. And the onesie was handmade by KERF reader Rachel!!

And on the most beautiful fall day you could ever imagine, we went home a family of 3!

To be continued…

Maze is gorgeous. The “baby breakfast” picture says it all: that look in your eyes is pure love!

4 Stef September 10, 2012 at 9:46 am

Oh my gosh, this post made me tear up as I remember when we brought our little boy home for the first time. Enjoy it!!

5 Brianne September 10, 2012 at 9:46 am

He is so precious!

6 Erica { } September 10, 2012 at 9:46 am

7 Laurie September 10, 2012 at 9:48 am

LOVE LOVE LOVE the picture of the bears with Maze!!!

8 Carly @ Snack Therapy September 10, 2012 at 9:50 am

You look so beautiful! I would never know you just pushed out a baby! It looks like the hosptial food was pretty good, but I’m sure you’re ready to get back to the KERF classics : ).

9 Christina September 10, 2012 at 9:53 am

SO CUTE!!! And you look fantastic.

10 MelissaN September 10, 2012 at 9:54 am

You are such a beautifull, glowing mother! Hope you have a beautiful day as a new mommy! 😀

11 Katie D. September 10, 2012 at 9:56 am

I remember bursting all of the blood vessels in my eyes! Very scary looking, but goes away quickly. You look fabulous, Kath! And, that bear hat is practicle edible, it’s so cute on him! :-)

12 Robin September 10, 2012 at 9:42 pm

I popped the blood vessels in my eyes with my first baby, too! No one ever warned me it might happen, so when I looked at myself in the mirror, I was shocked! Somehow the second time around, I convinced myself to use muscles others than those in my eyes, and it worked!

13 Stephanie September 10, 2012 at 9:57 am

Congratulations, Kath & Matt! I’ve been following along religiously since you announced you were pregnant. I don’t know if I’m the only one, but I feel like it all went by so quickly! Thank you for sharing so much on Kerf & Berf! It makes me so excited to one day experience it for myself :) And of course I’m excited to see more posts including baby Maze now!

14 Julie H. of Spinach and Sprinkles September 10, 2012 at 10:00 am

Soooo wonderful! And, you look fantastic, Kath! …..I also broke tons of blood vessels in my eyes and ALL OVER on my face and neck. I didn’t look in the mirror till day 2 and was shocked to see my puffy & bruised face! Oh the horror! (even after over 2 weeks, a few in my eyes have yet to heal/look better)

15 briana September 10, 2012 at 10:01 am

You are STUNNING in that last pic!!!

16 Judy September 10, 2012 at 10:01 am

Awe, you are so sweet to even get the chance to write this much today. I find myself checking twitter during the day to see how you all are doing. This time goes by so fast, enjoy it while it’s here.
Prayers and hugs

19 Amilja September 10, 2012 at 10:05 am

So happy for you. You look beatiful and Mazen is such a cute little baby.

20 Liz September 10, 2012 at 10:07 am

Lovely! Thanks to share! Is so weird that you are 3 now. Will be fun to see through all the new changes. You are doing great!. Lovely photos. Your baby is pretty handsome!

21 Susan September 10, 2012 at 10:08 am

You’re so in love with him, it’s clear to see from those photos! :)

Has anything about new motherhood surprised or challenged you yet? We are SO ready for babies but I’m so nervous about not knowing what to do and feeling lost without our families near!!

P.s. what is the bear story? I’m quite a new reader!

22 KathEats September 10, 2012 at 11:39 am

I’m not quite sure. I knew breastfeeding was going to hurt, but not as bad as it does at times! I’m surprised how well I’m doing with such little sleep! I’ve never slept this little in my life, yet I’ve definitely felt more tired than this before.

Here’s the bear page!

23 Erin September 10, 2012 at 12:11 pm

I remember those days. A month or so before my son was due I got an email from my mom saying she wanted to make sure I knew how much breastfeeding would hurt. Hang in there…it will go away in a few more days. :) I knew the actual feeding part would hurt but I was SO surprised at the cramping that went along with it!

Congrats to you and Matt! What a beautiful boy!!

24 Susan September 11, 2012 at 5:08 am

You’re beaming in that photo feeding Mazen, sounds like you’re doing a great job. A few days after my sister’s baby was born she had a lot of pain due to her milk coming in. Ouch – hope the pain goes for you soon.

Thanks for the link. Haha, I also hate stuffed animals…probably because I shared my room with my sister and she had stuffed disney toys all over our beds!

25 bmrobertson63 September 10, 2012 at 10:10 am

I am just loving reading your recaps. It takes me back to very sweet memories when my little man was born 2 years ago! Thanks so much for sharing. He’s adorable and you look beautiful!

26 Sarah Anne September 10, 2012 at 10:10 am

Lovely family!

27 Sarena (The Non-Dairy Queen) September 10, 2012 at 10:13 am

Oh Kath, he is just so precious (although I think you probably already know that). I wish the food was better when I had my kids. Seriously, you had some great eats! Tony actually had to go out to get me food it was so bad. Looks like everyone is getting some great family time in. Enjoy it! You won’t get these times back.

28 Rachel September 10, 2012 at 10:17 am

That hat is adorable! Looks like the hospital food was pretty good.. but I’m sure you’re happy to be home and able to make your own foods :)

29 Brie @ Impatient Baker September 10, 2012 at 10:18 am

Literally one of the stinking cutest babies I’ve ever seen. PS, you’re glowing, as if you didn’t know already. 😉

30 Morgan @ moments of mmm September 10, 2012 at 10:23 am

Gosh, Kath! You look incredible laying there with Maze. You are literally glowing…from happiness and love I suppose. :) I can’t wait to hear the entire story of Maze’s first hours. Take advantage of the help while you have it!

31 Angel7 September 10, 2012 at 10:24 am

The picture of Mazen covering his ear is too cute :)

I love the hat!

32 Rachel September 10, 2012 at 10:26 am

oh my goodness – thank you for posting! just made my day – you look amazingly beautiful and happy, especially in that last photo. congratulations!!!!!

33 Jennifer September 10, 2012 at 10:30 am

I got pregnant with both of my daughters in the month August (different years obviously) and found out I was pregnant in September. Your posts are not helping my desire for #3. Many, many congratulations again. Everyone says that you can’t imagine what it feels like to love that little person and I always thought it was so lame, even when I was pregnant, but it’s so true. I hope you are immensely enjoying getting to know your little one. Motherhood is just so wonderful even if it’s so, so difficult at times. MAZEl Tov! (I know you’re not Jewish, but it seems so appropriate given your little one’s name.)

34 Ariel September 10, 2012 at 10:32 am

You look gorgeous and glowing, and I wish I could smell his little head! He is SO cute.

35 Laura September 10, 2012 at 10:33 am

Love the picture of you laying on your side and feeding! How did the blood vessels burst? Is that from pushing hard? Does it hurt/feel weird at all?

36 Katie @ Peace Love & Oats September 10, 2012 at 10:33 am

That’s so exciting!!!! He is really adorable, I love the photo with the bears. And you burst the blood vessels in your eyes!? I didn’t even know that happens!

37 Sarah September 10, 2012 at 10:33 am

I’m so glad you had a positive hospital experience! We did infant classes at our hospital and took tours of the delivery and maternal floors – which made me so much more comfortable when we went in to deliver. It’s definitely nice to be looked after during your recovery!

My favorite part at our hospital was that when you transition floors, from delivery to maternal, they play Brahms’ lullaby over the speakers! We heard it a few times when we had visited the hospital before – it plays throughout the entire hospital. I remember holding our guy, being wheeled upstairs and hearing it. I looked at him and told him – this is your song!

38 Ali @ Peaches and Football September 10, 2012 at 10:35 am

It is OK to be taking a tiny break from your posting. These are precious first moments as a family of three and you need to fully savor them – years from now you won’t regret not posting multiple times a day but you might regret not spending as much time soaking up the first moments as you can.

Give him a big, huge sniff for me. I know that sounds weird but babies just smell unbelievably wonderful. Nothing smells like them and I love it. :-)

39 Jennifer September 10, 2012 at 10:46 am

Those are great pictures and you look SO happy! :) The grandparents look very proud, too. I meant to comment on their southern accents in the video. I love it. :)

As many have mentioned, don’t feel bad that you can’t post more. Enjoy Maze! This time goes by quickly.

40 Paige @ Healthy Hits the Spot September 10, 2012 at 10:50 am

Your baby is beautiful. That last picture is seriously the cutest thing ever. Plus, red looks so great on you!

41 Kelli H (Made in Sonoma) September 10, 2012 at 10:53 am

His going home outfit is soooooo adorable. He’s seriously SO precious. I’ll probably repeat this 100 times in the next year…

42 Sara September 10, 2012 at 10:59 am

I must say, this post put a big smile on my face (especially Maze in his cute hat and onesie!) after a killer biochemistry test this morning!

43 Ashley @ Coffee Cake and Cardio September 10, 2012 at 11:07 am

So beautiful Kath!!! Beautiful son and you look so happy!

44 Beyonce September 10, 2012 at 11:12 am

That photo of you laying in bed with Mazen, with the owl blanket, is exquisite.

You have got a beautiful family going here, and I am happy for you!

As for blogging, just do what feels right. You don’t owe anybody anything, and any opinions that others may have about your schedule can and should be met with an eyeroll 😉

45 RunEatRepeat September 10, 2012 at 11:17 am

Love that baby hat! I kinda want one for myself…

46 Jessica September 10, 2012 at 11:24 am

So happy for you! Enjoy your sweet little Maze. He is perfect.

47 Amanda Cowan September 10, 2012 at 11:31 am

So happy for you and your new little family! Reading all about your story has inspired me to go back and look at photos from my birth experiences (all 3!) and I definitely got a little weepy. Plus it was fun to show my 2 year old all the pictures from her older sisters’ babyhoods. Enjoy! And I hope you get some good rest!

48 Laura @ She Eats Well September 10, 2012 at 11:32 am

Can’t get over his hat it is so stinking cute! Sounds like you had a really positive experience at that hospital and overall. Can’t wait to read more.

49 Khushboo September 10, 2012 at 11:37 am

Wow what a spread! I was always under the impression that all hospital food was terrible…CLEARLY NOT 😀

50 kristin September 10, 2012 at 11:39 am

Looking RADIANT, Kath! And your lil cub is SO adorable in that hat! It’s good to know that you can eat good healthy stuff at the hospital; I brought my brother and sister-in-law some yummy sandwiches and salads from a local italian deli when they had their little girl. I think they were afraid of the hospital food! ha :)

51 eliza September 10, 2012 at 11:45 am

wow he is a beautiful baby!! congrats again :)

52 Shannon September 10, 2012 at 11:49 am

SO WONDERFUL!!! Such a beautiful family of 3!!!! :)

53 Jennifer September 10, 2012 at 11:56 am

Before this post, I was thinking to myself “Wow she didn’t pop any blood vessels in her eyes, that’s amazing!”. Especially after the vomiting and just the force of pushing that hard! You couldn’t even tell in your earlier pictures until you pointed it out in this one! I’m kinda glad to know it happens, b/c I’ll be due with my first in February and it will be nice to know that it didn’t just happen to me!

54 Tara September 10, 2012 at 11:59 am

Congrats! He is adorable and you look wonderful! Also, that hospital food looks impressive!

I’m pregnant with our second child and reading your posts are reminding me of those awesome first days with our son (well, they’ve all been pretty awesome!) and getting me very excited for our new addition! It’s such a special time…enjoy every minute!

55 Sarah September 10, 2012 at 12:01 pm

You look so beautiful and happy!!

My mom told me she tried to push me out for so long (ultimately leading to a c-section) that when she looked at herself in the mirror for the first time after having me she was so scared to find that her whole face was covered in broken blood vessels from pushing so hard!

56 Nicole September 10, 2012 at 12:01 pm

This post brought tears to my eyes! My husband and I just found out we are expecting, your posts make me so excited for whats to come!

57 Cappi September 10, 2012 at 12:11 pm

Baby is beautiful! As weird as it is for YOU to not be blogging, it was very strange to NOT have posts from you..Glad to have you back :-)…even if just one a day!

58 [email protected] for the Soul September 10, 2012 at 12:17 pm

I’m so happy for you Kath! And it’s so nice to see that you’re pretty relaxed so far~or so it seems :) I’m melting over here! Maze’s outfits are the most adorable things ever! I’m a sucker for baby clothing.

59 Jen B September 10, 2012 at 12:26 pm

Aw, I’m so happy for you both – you look so content. Baby is darling, of course!

I laughed at the 2% milk thing – it’s so interesting to see what our bodies want under various conditions. I love coconut manna when hiking, and it’s not something I’d normally be so enthused about.

Congratulations on your lovely new baby!

60 lindsay September 10, 2012 at 12:29 pm

Goodness – this and all your post-baby posts have been awesome! Beautiful pictures. You look amazing, Kath!

61 Cait September 10, 2012 at 12:31 pm

Oh Kath, I just adore your blog! Thanks for still filling us in, during this busy and momentous time in your life!

62 donna September 10, 2012 at 12:32 pm

Kath, I am surprised that you are blogging at all! Of course, we’d all love to see photos of the baby, but this is such a special transition time—time for bonding, settling into a routine, and resting, that no one expects you to blog. I’m surprised you are not taking a MATERNITY break for at least a couple of weeks.
Really, all of us (especially those of us who are mothers) would totally understand if we didn’t hear from you all all right now.Cherish this time with your son, and don’t feel obligated to do any work right now. You have plenty of time for that later.

63 Katie September 10, 2012 at 12:35 pm

I have been reading your blogs since ’08. I was so emotional when I read the blog when you announced your pregnant and now I am tearing up seeing that photo of you and Maze – Congratulations! I am so happy for you and your beautiful family!

64 Victoria September 10, 2012 at 12:35 pm

Maze and you are beautiful in these photos! Thank you so much for sharing with all of us <33

65 Emma September 10, 2012 at 12:38 pm

Congratulations again, Kath. Your family is beautiful and you’re obviously overflowing with joy. Thank you for sharing this intimate time with so many – and for being so tasteful with your pictures and details, too. :-)

66 Tracy September 10, 2012 at 12:42 pm

You obviously are so happy! It radiates through your writing.

He’s a beautiful baby.

67 Angela @ Happy Fit Mama September 10, 2012 at 12:45 pm

Those first few days (who am I kidding, more like weeks) are such a whirlwind. You’ll be so glad you have your blog to look back on. Enjoy every minute and don’t worry about the blog. Everyone will still be here when you are on a regular schedule.

68 Katie @ Talk Less, Say More September 10, 2012 at 12:50 pm

That first picture with the bears is ABSOLUTELY precious and melts my heart. I’m so happy you guys seem to be doing well and I can’t wait to hear where life and this new chapter takes you all. :)

69 Averie @ Averie Cooks September 10, 2012 at 12:55 pm

Kath the last shot of you is gorgeous and you’re all dressed up and looking so beautiful just days after giving birth and sleeping on a hospital bed – you rock :)

And the post of you side-lying, gazing right into the camera and baby either nursing or resting, just so tender.

Love the hat and love this post. And a beautiful fall day for a homecoming,too..awesome.

70 sarah September 10, 2012 at 12:56 pm

He is a BEAUTIFUL baby and YOU look unbelievable!

71 [email protected] September 10, 2012 at 12:58 pm

Congrats on your baby – you look great!

Love the pic of you and Mazen nursing on the bed! So many beautiful photos. How lucky are we to live in these times of digital photos and speedy everything. :)

78 Michelle (Peachy Palate) September 10, 2012 at 1:55 pm

He is such a cutie!!! And you really do look fab, glowing! The food is incredible! Even in the most expensive paid for hospitals here the food is rubbish, and when I say rubbish I really mean the pits…!

Isn’t breastfeeding hunger so crazy? I remember eating a big meal then being hungry 2 hours later! It’s so fun :) But I wouldn’t hold your breath for more sleep or a schedule just yet…luckily you’ll just get accustomed to being tired!

BTW do you get OneKingsLane? Saw this today and thought of your nursery:

81 Lynda September 10, 2012 at 2:12 pm

I am loving these pictures of family and your meals and the commentary :) So much fun to be sharing this event with you. Thanks so much for taking time to update all of us. You look wonderful – happy and beautiful:)

82 Sara R. September 10, 2012 at 2:18 pm

That pizza party at the hospital looks like so much fun! And you look amazing too! I popped all the blood vessels in my face and neck pushing out my first daughter, the dots go away in a couple days. Enjoy being home, and thanks for sharing all of this with your readers, it’s fun to follow along!

87 Andrea September 10, 2012 at 2:44 pm

What a perfect baby boy! I absolutely love the picture of you lying down on the bed with him. You are all so beautiful! :) The hospital food actually doesn’t look half bad! I’m used to hearing how horrible hospital food is, but maybe since that hospital is newer, they are more with the times 😉 Have a wonderful rest of your day!

88 Lauren @Sizzle Eats September 10, 2012 at 2:51 pm

89 Lauren September 10, 2012 at 2:51 pm

It must feel so funny to be on the other side of hospital FS! Did it bring you back to your internship days to be sending your order down to dietary?

90 KathEats September 10, 2012 at 3:34 pm

yeah, it was funny to break down the meals by macronutrient :)

91 Rachael September 10, 2012 at 2:56 pm

I am so enjoying living vicariously through your baby experience. I can’t wait to have my own but must wait a few more years at least. Enjoy all of the precious moments. Maze is SUCH an adorable newborn.

Your hospital lunches actually look tasty! Love the bear hat…I had a bear theme for my boys…they each received a teddy bear and my second son even had a onesie with little teddy bears on it with matching hat…also from the Gap!

96 Amy @ changing the now September 10, 2012 at 3:20 pm

Hun, you look positively radiant!! Bless you, your eyes look so sore… you sure did push girl!

Motherhood really suits you, the photo of you nursing is just gorgeous… i loved nursing my son, it’s such an amazing experience. I am just reliving every happy moment with you as it was only last October i had Rowan. (I just wish i blogged about it as it is becoming more and more hazy).

I hope you are feeling ok? sometimes you can feel a bit blue when the milk comes in, i just felt teary around 5:30pm for about 3 days but it soon passed and was replaced with the most euphoric feeling (which still continues to this day)!! I’m so happy for you and Matt, you have a beautiful family xxx

97 Sahira September 10, 2012 at 4:40 pm

I agree, the nursing picture is just perfect and Kath is glowing!

98 Jenica September 10, 2012 at 3:41 pm

Whoooa so did you vomit before delivery? During? Or after? This is a huge fear of mine just curious about your whole process… Also didnt know you could burst your blood vessels in your eyes but I guess that makes sense. But the vomiting, oh vey, I do not like that!

109 KathEats September 10, 2012 at 8:25 pm

Several times during : ( pain was that intense. It’s pretty common

110 Meagan September 10, 2012 at 7:22 pm

OMG that hat is ADORABLE! What a great find 😀

111 barefootgirl27 September 10, 2012 at 7:33 pm

my random thoughts…

Matt was amazing at swaddling Maze…. top notch all the way!!

Karen looks GREAT so beautiful and healthy :) and her voice is something that I could listen to all day.. I would love to spend an afternoon having tea with her.

Your parents look so happy and proud… I’m hoping to be in your mom’s shoes in the next 5 years.

Y’all are the most adorable family ever :)

112 barefootgirl27 September 10, 2012 at 7:36 pm

on a completely random note… have you always moderated comments? because I don’t remember this… maybe I’m wrong…. or maybe I said something wrong along the way that has me moderated??

either way.. I notice it this week as it had me curious..

I knew you were moderating over at Berf…. makes perfect sense :)

113 KathEats September 10, 2012 at 8:25 pm

I have for about 6 months… so glad because it helps keep things positive and actually really improved my work flow

114 Alison September 10, 2012 at 8:34 pm

That makes perfect sense… As long as I didn’t do anything wrong… It makes perfect sense for someone in your position : As I said before… Soak in every second. I swear it goes by in the blink got an eye…. :)

115 Alison September 10, 2012 at 8:37 pm

Oops… Alison is my daughter ( senior in high school btw) and youngest. She commented last night so that last comment looks like the wrong person responded..

Never mind … You are in mama heaven. Enjoy it :)

Hi Kath,

I have been a loyal reader for a few years now and have never commented but I was reading this post with my 15 month son on my lap and he was pointing to the pictures anytime Maze was in one and at one of them he leaned forward in my lap and kissed the baby (on the computer screen) Just wanted to share this with you.

123 beth September 10, 2012 at 8:49 pm

So sweet! Looks like you’re having a wonderful time together. So lucky to have family close by for help.

My blood vessels worn broken in my eyes, too, and my face was so swollen I looked like a different person – that was from my 6 hours of pushing. Yep. Totally worth it!

124 Trisha September 10, 2012 at 8:49 pm

CONGRATULATIONS!!!!! How weird is it to finally have that cute little human home?? Have you and Matt looked at each other .. and just said.. “Holy cow.. he’s here , now what?? ” :) In the pics and video you guys seem so natural.

First of all congrats! Isn’t life amazing? My little one is 6 months old and i still remember delivering her like it was yesterday. Your blood vessles burst in your eyes? Wow that is some serious pushing.

Could you be anymore gorgeous?!! Little Maze is sweet – I see a lot of Matt in him!

And don’t worry about blogging silly! You just had a baby! Give it some time and things will fall naturally into place.

Wow – such amazing food for a hospital!

137 Spice Chicken September 11, 2012 at 8:25 am

These are great. The Nautica robe definitely seems like the right choice. Your mom is gorgeous! What a fantastic dress.

138 Monica September 11, 2012 at 9:46 am

Our little man was born at 10:00 p.m. andwedid early discharge at noon the next day. I felt so tired and was craving a bed where the three of us could snuggle together. However, seeing your stay completely changes my outlook on postpartum time at the hospital. I love how light and celebratory you guys kept everything!

139 Lillian September 11, 2012 at 11:15 am

I have to admit, I’ve been reading the past few months’ worth of posts thinking, holy moly that girl probably cannot WAIT to have a beer! And hooray, it’s pumpkin! :)

140 Cait's Plate September 11, 2012 at 12:43 pm

I love the first picture of him with the bears and the one of you with him outside the hospital getting ready to go home. Oh, and pretty much every picture that he’s wearing that bear hat. Too precious.

141 Laura September 12, 2012 at 9:26 am

Your video is really lovely to watch- I love the way Mazen responds to Matt hushing his cries! Do you think having a speech-to-text software package might help you write (if you want to!) while your hands are occupied with your little one? I hope you are recovering well and everyone is looking after Mom as well as Mazen!
