Consumed while trying to catch up on The Office!!
We are SO behind on TV! Glee, The Office, 30 Rock. And am I correct that GOSSIP GIRL is back tonight!?!?! Or am I a week early. My calendar says today. AHHHHHHHHHH!! Best show ever.
Off to start my new rotation at a corporate wellness firm. Excited (and exhausted).

It looks like a jellyfish!
Can’t wait to hear about your new internship, especially since corporate wellness is one of the areas I could take my career in.
I’d say the foam in the single mug looks like an octopus! Enjoy your day at work, it’s always good to come home after a trip!
I think it looks like a jellyfish also!!
PS. I’ve been reading your blog for three months and have never left a comment. Just wanted to say that I think you’re doing a fabulous job, and since reading i’ve really tried to get rid of the ‘process’ in my life and keep it ‘real’.
Thanks Lyndsey!
its a squid.
GOOD LUCK!!!
It looks like a stingray. :-p
PInnochio
Haha! I guess I was late on my response down below but I totally agree!
Matt’s PJ’s crack me up!
Have a great day!
Sting Ray!
i think it looks like an angel fish.
coming home is so wonderful after hectic trips away!
I’m with the above post- angel fish!

Love Matt’s trousers
Equally love your granola mix

It’s definitely a Stingray! Have fun at your new job!
Awww, someone beat me to it – I think it looks like a jellyfish too!
Can’t wait to hear about the corporate wellness stuff. I really like hearing about the internship, it helps me think about what I’m in for down the road.
It looks like a stingray!
The Office was sooooo funny this week!
It’s a side view of a running elephant!

Can’t wait to hear about the new position!! OMG I am obsessed with Crofter’s Superfruit Spread! So, so good!!
Jellyfish!
Haha I totally see the old lady with a big nose – like the one who gave snow white a poison apple!
Definitely a sting ray!
ha, we basically only watch the Office and I was THRILLED last night to have TWO episodes to catch-up on!
Thursday’s episode of The Office was one of the FUNNIEST EVER!
I LOOOVE that he was watching the morning after you returned from your trip! I’ve been known to sneak in an episode of The Office on Friday morning before work if I was out very late on Thursday night! BEST SHOW EVER!
I may be alone on this… but sideways mushroom with a tail? lol. OR a turtle!
I have to say, this morning coffee shape guessing game always puts a smile on my face!
I was even thinking an alien! Guess we’re a bit off base
it’s a goomba!
I think your coffee shape looks like a fishy, or a jelly fish.
Here in Maryland Gossip Girl night has been moved to Wednesday, I don’t know if that is the same everywhere. Check your listings because if it isn’t on tonight, it will probably be on on Wednesday.
jellyfish, octopus, some sort of sea creature!
<3 http://www.prettytimepiece.org
So nice to be home! Have a good day today, best of luck!
this is like Dr. KERF holding up ink blots to all her patients and asking us, “what do you seeeee” hehehehe
I think it looks like pinoccio (sp?) looking to his right. Looooong nose! Love your living room decor by the way!
I think the first two look like sweet potatoes. Not totally creative but it is all I have for now
Hope you enjoy your first in Corporate Wellness, sounds interesting!
Kath, your oatmeal always looks like art! I can never make a batch of oats that ends up looking like that. I’m pretty plain when it comes to oat making: oats, water, mashed banana, various toppings. Your incorporation of things like cottage cheese and chia seeds sounds good, but I’m not nearly that adventurous with my oats. Maybe I need to come down and try a bowl of your oats myself to make me a true believer!
A mushroom, maybe? Good luck at your new job!!!
First thought was jellyfish, but then if you look at it,
it’s a goose/duck/crane (cartoon style!)with a helmet on!!!
I see a mushroom with legs?! A new rotation already? Is this your last one?
No, I have my clinical at the end – 3 months of that.
A jellyfish?!
My roommate was just saying how excited she is for Gossip Girl–I suppose I should try and get into that show; it looks like good girly fun. Also, I ALWAYS, without fail, steal bananas from hotels. It’s a parting gift.
heehee … definitely a jellyfish
Yup! Gossip Girl is on at 9/8c tonight!!!! Can’t wait!
I am loving galaxy granola right now, sounds like it would be great on top of oats!
I’m with Amy–it’s an old lady with long, huge nose!
Matt is the best sport ever, letting you take pictures of him in his pajamas in the morning. He gets a gold star for that
Happy Monday, everyone!
Gossip Girl?! NO!! If you are right, that totally just made my day! I have been dying without my gossip girl…
Nothing like a good home cooked breakfast after vacation!
And I went to World Market this weekend and I found some baby spoons! I have been wanting one ever since I saw them on your blog. I love them! Makes eating much more fun!
Good luck today!
Love the idea of heating up Crofters to add, yum!
I say the foam thing is a jellyfih!
The oatmeal looks great! Good luck in your new position!
To me, today’s shape looks like the profile of Steve Martin in the movie Roxanne!
http://www.heartlikewater.net/Images/SteveMartin1.jpg
Stingray!!!! For sure!
and have to say I LOVE Matt’s jammies…I only wish I could get my hubby to wear something that fun!
The oatmeal looks amazing… but then again, yours always does! Good luck with the new job
As soon as I saw it, my mind screamed jellyfish.
An army helmet?
seriously, Gossip Girl is the best show!! We recently got the DVDs from Season 1 and 2 and are all caught up now but we’re dying since we can’t get the Season 3 episodes without paying $3 on iTunes! I can’t wait until August for the DVD to come out!!
I agree with the others who said Jelly fish! For sure:)
Hmm…I think it looks like the profile of a wicked witch with a cape over her head!
hope the first day goes well!
I always love coming back from trips. I miss having a routine!
…and I see a stingray
I miss having a routine too so I am usually thrilled to get back from a trip!
Have a great Monday at your new job!
I have to comment to your breakfast post a few days. I have to object to your category as “in a pinch” for non-Greek yogurts aka artifically sweetened.
There is no scientific proof backing your opposition to non-Greek yogurts. Your opposition is a perfect example of food elitism.
Most normal people don’t give a damn that something has gelatin or whatever. And like many people, I can’t stomach the taste of Greek yogurt- it’s like sticking sour cream in your mouth.
As long as my fat-free yogurt in whatever flavor (I prefer vanilla or lime) has 90 calories or 100 calories, I’m down with it. It’s also 49 cents as opposed to the 99 cents and above for Greek or organic yogurt- and has much less sugar than those brands.
We’ll see if you keep this post- you tend to actively remove posts that aren’t examples of slavish devotion.
I don’t remember Kath saying non-Greek yogurt. I thought she just said artificially sweetened yogurt. Anywho, i would say the same thing; that the “hotel” yogurt is probably not a good option. The yogurt that i would eat doesn’t have to be greek but i am not going to eat something with a ton of artificial sugar (splenda, equal, aspertame, whatever) with funky colors added to it. That isn’t exactly food in my opinion.
NON-Greek, Plain unsweetened yogurt also costs about 50cents. Nothing she was saying had to do with whether the yogurt was Greek or not (although Greek does have more protein), it had to do with the use of artificial sweeteners. Read more carefully before you go out of your way to be caustic.
And if you want the post to be kept up you should have left the last (utterly bitchy and ultimately pointless) sentence off.
Hi Veronica,
I saw your comment on here and thought I’d share an article I read about Greek vs. nonfat yogurt. My husband and I both like Greek yogurt, so we lucked out because it is definitely an acquired taste – I have friends that think it’s too thick, as well.
http://www.usnews.com/health/blogs/on-fitness/2009/4/6/greek-yogurt-vs-regular-yogurt-which-is-more-healthful.html
I’ve personally asked Kath about her take on non-nutritive sweeteners, and her response was not so much one that banned them, but, in keeping with a tried and true food philosophy, everything in moderation is best. And I have to say that I agree with it – not out of any devotion to her, but out of my own education in nutrition. That being said, I have many friends who swear by those types of sweeteners. It’s the nature of opinions – everyone has their own.
I’m not here to defend Kath in any way, but figured it’d be ok to leave my response with this link, if by chance, your comment does get removed.
Take care!
-Jenny
Veronica,
I have no problem with you disagreeing with me on artificial sweetener consumption, but I do have a problem with the way you stated this. Eat what you want, but there is absolutely nothing healthy about artificial sweeteners. I also said nothing about greek yogurt. And never said you could never eat sweetened yogurts. There are a handful of all-natural brands that I would consider a best choice. I’ll continue to eat real food.
Great week ahead. Enjoy!
I see a rhinocerous.
Hope you have a happy Monday! It’s always nice being home and catching up on sleep (and yummy breakfasts too.)
I’m really excited to hear about your corporate wellness rotation!!
definitely a jellyfish! or maybe a tooth? haha, I love this game…gets your mind started in the morning with some creativity. By the way, I love the colors, and all the different patterns in your living room (or whatever room pictured here)…looks great!
My first thought: A wookie crouched down – And I’ve only seen a few of the Star Wars movies. Not really sure where that popped up from.
PInnochio!!!
I actually gave up on Gossip Girl because I got annoyed with the crazy schedule. Ugh.
maybe a molar with legs…? i know what you mean about feeling behind on the shows…it took us a while to catch up with the office, but once you watch the episodes you feel like you haven’t been gone at all
If you turn it counter clockwise I think it looks like a jellyfish!
Gossip Girl is best!! I love the furniture in your living room, so classy
Abe Lincoln with a carrot nose, hehe!
I totally forgot about Gossip Girl!!! I’m so excited! Though I think that I still have one more episode to watch until I’m caught up on it. Heroes comes back, too, which is exciting for my husband – I’m about 10 episodes behind! LOL!
Love the oats – it must be nice to be home.
I see a witch in your coffee with a long, bumpy nose!
K
I agree with some of the others – it looks like a cute baby jellyfish!
Glad to see you two made it home safely. And I love your living room!! You guys have great style for interior design!!
Your blog continues to inspire me, and has played a big part in me and the hubs getting back on our workout regime.
You’re an inspiration, kath!
Thank you!
definately catch up on glee so you can be ready for the new season!
Kat- true, Kath didn’t say non-Greek but I think the implication is there. And again, your food elitism shows through. If it tastes damn good and is low-calorie, has calcium, it IS food.
Emily- unsweetened, plain yogurt tastes gross- seriously, Let’s be real here. I’d take artificial sweeteners in m yogurt any day, considering I don’t have them in the rest of my diet- I eat whole grains, tons of veggies, fruits, etc.
Thev very last comment of mine was bitchy- my bad.
Bitchy.. but true. I applaud you for speaking your mind.
A little bit of artificial sweetners wont kill you.. they arent beneficial, but if they get you to make better food choices … Like a yogurt as opposed to a jar of peanut butter… then they are working for you. It all depends on your goals.
Im not a food elitist.. personally I dont waste my money on packaged bars, superfoods, and the like… those dont qualify as ‘whole’ foods to me. Each person has their opinion and its all relative. What Kath considers ‘healthy’ is different than what I do. If I ate a huge bowl of oats with candy toppings every morning, I’d probably have an extra 15-20 on my frame too. But Kath is a handsome girl and she carries it well.
Not sure what that’s supposed to mean…
Fran – so your implying Kath should actually weigh 100 pounds?! That’s what you consider “healthy”? LOL
hey fran – learn some manners. you’re an asshole.
oh wait, was that “bitchy but true”? you can now applaud me if you wish.
elephant!
As I’m in a hotel for a few days now, I was highly inspired by your suggestions – and your great variety of oatmeal toppings. Thanks!
Sounds crazy, but the first thing I thought of when I saw your coffee was Steve Martin in the movie “Roxanne.” Ha Ha!
Glad you enjoyed your trip! All the food looked fantastic!
Looks just like the cheesy goldfish crackers from P.Farms hahahaha
YOGURT WARS!!!!
I see Steve Martin from the movie Roxanne, did you ever see that?! Looks just like his profile in your coffee hehe.
And no, Kath isn’t a food elitist, she just knows what’s good!!
WOW just to put my 2 cents in to the Great Yogurt Debate up there…..what a crazyface.
1. “food elitism”. please let us expunge the word elitism from our vocaburies. it is a politically charged word that has been distorted by right-wing politicians who are manipulating the insecurities of uneducated; uncosmopolitan america.
2. the gelatin and corny syrup yogurt you’re eating may keep you slim, but it sure isn’t sustainable or enviornment friendly. how on earth can you villify a yogurt which is made from just friggin’ milk, pure and simple?
3. i don’t think kath or KERF or whatever this young lady chooses to go by deletes comments that challenge her. in fact, she quite intelligently responded to a comment i left which questioned her seafood choices. and honestly, she probably doesn’t have the time to wage a great internet yogurt war.
anyway. you can also make yogurt at home. cheaper than that 90 cent crap you buy at WalMart and better for the environment.
your coffee shape is totally the head of a rabbit!
Looks like an octopus to me! or a tropical fish!
I love The Office too!!!!
ah how are you watching the office in france, leo? i miss it so!
ps meant vocabularies up there, of course. that was a sarah palin sized gaffe
Awesome oatmeal as usual!
I just wanted to tell you that I watched your video on how you make the KERF famous oatmeal and it was great. I honestly didn’t really know how to make it exactly! Thanks!!!! Have a great day back!
Thanks Paula!
Jellyfish / the fish from The Little Mermaid (*embarrassed at not remembering his name*)
a football helmet!!!!
’tis a jellyfish, I’m sure!
It’s a jellyfish!
There’s definitely nothing more comforting than a melty bowl of oats and nut butter in the morning
It looks like a sting ray to me! I always read your blog first thing in the morning and I LOVE it. Thanks for showing me a better way-never ate a lot of processed food but now my life includes so many more foods!
I’m with Sarah. I definitely see Rhinocerous.
Just read the recap of your weekend. Looks like you had a GREAT trip filled with some really delicious food!! Glad you enjoyed
Flounder!!!! Btw, your living room is super cute…I love the colors and patterns!
pinnochio.
It’s a unicorn, for sure!
angel fish or head of an skull of an evil villain,
Looks like a sea creature of some sort? Sting ray?
I see a witch who has just taken off her hat after a long day.
I see a Witch’s head!
Jessica,
We had the same thought at the same time. Great minds, of course.
Barbara
I gotta vote team sting ray!
I gotta agree with the witch’s face!
It looks like the shape of Australia if you turn it 90 degrees to the right!
The foam looks like a witch (without her hat). See her craggy chin and her long pointy noise?
I think it looks like a football helmet or a martial arts headgear.
Floppy elephant ears!!!
Your coffee shape looks like Dori from Finding Nemo!
It reminds me of the tree the Keebler elves live in haha
Hahaha, Matt’s pyjama pants are awesome! As are the glorious glossiness of that fruit spread. Always makes me envious!
That bowl of oats looks fantastic! The melted jam looks divine.
Jenn
your coffee shape kind of looks like a rhino!
Saw this today, thought you might enjoy the oatmeal shout out!
http://www.delish.com/recipes/cooking-recipes/anti-stress-diet-2
I’m with the octopus/jellyfish/sea creature crowd!
I felt the need to comment on this post because of your mug…my sis-in-law bought me the exact same mug you have (the one with the “K” on it) and she told me it was the best mug ever and I am now a huge believer!
Thanks Jenny for the comments.
And Paris food blog: give me a break. I’m going to call out elitism, whether you like the word or not. And I’m a card-carrying liberal, just so you know,
Also feel free to make your own yogurt. For the rest of us people who work, squeezing in work, exercise, making lunch and dinner every day is enough work, much the less spending time with significant others/friends/enjoying events in the city.
And my rockin’ Lucerne lime yogurt is 49 cents, thank you.
i just recently became aware of gossip girl and watch every season one after the other, it was like watching the best movie ever! this is my first post to you, and i really enjoy coming to your site! always something new and yummy to look at! you are def. inspiring. thanks!
Thanks!
ITS definetly A STING RAY!!!!!!!!!
You know that character Steve Martin played with the long nose??? UGH! I can’t think of the movie! It looks like him! (I also think Richard Nixon a little bit)
TOTALLY a fish – like a little flounder or something.
It’s definitely a jellyfish!
Love how you and Matt always make your oats together. CD always eats breakfast at his office, and on the weekends just eats a small snack in the mornings before his workouts. Someday, he will join me for oats or pancakes.
it definitely looks like a sea creature!
Good luck on the new rotation. Hopefully since it’s closer it will be easier scheduling.
I’d say that the shape in your coffee is Big Bird’s head!
Love Matt’s polka dot pants!
Total fashion statement!
