Thanks to this guy, I enjoyed slowly waking up in bed to the smell of oatmeal!
Matt actually got up to go on a run this morning, and when he returned he asked if I wanted breakfast in bed.
YES PLEASE!!
I didn’t end up enjoying my whipped banana oats in bed, but we did enjoy it together. We used to eat breakfast together every morning back in the day. I miss that!
Whipped banana oats [Matt style, which means no chia and whipped violently] with vanilla, strawberry jam, WF peanut butter and more banana.
He even heated tea water for me! Earl Gray to sip.
I feel like a queen this week : )

How sweet of Matt to bring you breakfast in bed!
Your breakfast looks really delicious and comforting. Enjoy your day!
That’s so nice of Matt! Glad he’s spoiling you a little
And that you got to enjoy each other’s company this morning.
What a sweetie. I love when men know just what to do to make us feel better. Have a great day!
Aww yay!! Extra hubby points! What a sweetie!
You deserve to feel like a queen and what a prince/king/thoughtful husband you have! The Matt-style oats look delicious, even after being violently whipped and chia-less. Hope the rest of your day is as wonderful as its beginning.
Sounds like a keeper!
My hubs isn’t a chia fan either. I always try to sneak some in when making oatmeal for both of us but he noticed every single time.
What a good hubby! Food always tastes better when it’s made by someone else with care.
That is the cutest.
Looks delicious! Especially the bananas.
For some reason I found the idea of Matt violently whipping the oats hysterical! I’m still smiling
The whole time I’m yelling, “BREAK DOWN YOU BETA-GLUCANS!!!!!”
I laughed at that too! Sounds like a very manly approach to making oatmeal.
Hahaha awesome! Love your sense of humor! I hope you and Kath have an amazing day!
We all know what trouble those beta-glucans can be. Glad you put them in their place!!
haha — “whipped violently”! i love that. glad you enjoyed the fruits of someone else’s labor… in my opinion, food always tastes better that way
I could get used to that!
Is jelly really the way to go? I’m all about the peanut/almond butter, but jelly seems like a weird texture to add to oatmeal. Guess I’ll give it a go.
the jelly gives it a little added sweetness! i enjoy it!
I love it! It melts a little too
Wow, what lovely morning treatment!! All he forgot was a massage and foot rub lol! Breakfast in bed is awesome and I haven’t enjoyed it in far too long. Do you guys whip the oats by hand or with an immersion blender?
Just whipped by hand – just stirred well
What a sweetie!
Such a gentleman
Enjoy your day!
How fun! It is so nice to feel spoiled.
This is why I need a man lol
You’re a lucky girl! Looks like you are off to a great day!
Awww… that’s cool he made you oatmeal and tea this morn. those oats look yummy. think I will go make me some now minus the jam.
I love when my man brings me hot tea. We do that frequently in the evening. As for the massage, I treated him this weekend with a day at Glen Ivy Hot Springs. Was truly nice as it was 80 degrees out.
I love this idea of PB and Preserves/Jelly in your oats, I’m going to have to try it!
I love PB&J in my oats, it was seriously one of the best discoveries ever. For oats, at least
Yay Matt! What a great husband you have there!
Aaw, too cute!!
Your oats always look so fluffy and delicious!
Hahah it’s so cute that he made you breakfast. Though I must say, violent whipping of oatmeal is key
Can I rent Matt to give my husband lessons? Seriously- I don’t think mine has ever once made me breakfast! And the fact that Matt knows how to cook oats correctly is pretty amazing. Definitely jealous over here! Enjoy!
I remember reading your old posts and always wondering how you guys pulled off breakfast together almost every day…well, very sweet memories you will always have at least
my family and I used to eat breakfast together every morning…those days are long gone…paradigm shift is in order, though, I think and my father and his wife just arrived home for a 3-month period after being in Africa for 3 years and I should request family breakfasts again!
You really do have a lovely life!
I really need to get that Dean and Deluca mug you have.
Make sure he keeps this up once the baby arrives!!
Those are MY kind of whipped banana oats, perfect!! And SO sweet of matt!!!
He is so sweet!! What a delicious looking breakfast!
on the days my hubs doesn’t work, he often brings me coffee in bed, it’s a good way to get me back in there later.
What a sweet husband you have! Hope your having a wonderful day!
How sweet of Matt to take care of breakfast for you!
How thoughtful! Actually, it was breakfast for three, including Baby BERF
