Happy Birthday To Kona!!
This afternoon I enjoyed a nice yogurt mixed with a Mussleman’s applesauce and some Galaxy Granola (my last bit!) while READING. It was joyous.
The I rounded up the troops and we headed over to Kona’s house
It rained on the parade, but the keg was still happy and full of Sam Summer!
I wasn’t in the biggest drinking mood tonight, but I sipped off some of Matt’s brews
And made a mocktail with Sprite Zero and cherries to drink with dinner
Schmooze
Shortly some DOGGIE guests arrived!!
Scooter!!!
Kona greeted each guest warmly
Kona and GILBERT had quite a rough greeting, but were friends in the end.
Foodz! Many of the guests tonight are RDs that work with Caitlin (and me!). The foods were all great -
Caitlin made a Cooking Light White Bean Dip with Rosemary Olive Oil that was awesomely good!!!
I think I ate too much bean dip ’cause I was too full for dinner!
Kehaulani made Ina Garten’s Panzanella Salad!
More snax
Bayley brought a Mexican cheesy dip!
Taylor’s Alton Brown Homemade Mac n Cheese!
Matt and I brought a bunch of veggies to grill with the burgers
I got a petite burger
And filled the rest of my plate with some panzanella, mac and veggies. However, I could barely finish half of this! I’ve never been one to leave veggies on my plate, but I was getting full FAST and couldn’t even finish those. Strange for me. I think it was all the bean dip!!
Cutie pie!
C+J have been making these PB&J martinis and had the set up to make them tonight. It’s a blended chocolate liquor base and then the rim is crushed peanuts, peanut butter and strawberry jam!!!!!
I only had room for a shot’s worth, but MY was it delicious!
More PB&J in the form of a bar!!! Shared this bite with Matt
PUPPY CHOW made by Kate!
And this beautiful Coldstone Strawberry Red Velvet cake was a big hit.
Matt and I shared a small piece – I liked the icing the best!
Thanks to Caitlin and Jason and Kona for the fun night!

I love everything about this post, can’t go wrong with doggie photos and you got some seriously awesome pics
Cute sweater!! And oh my GOSH, I want that dog! Although my husband would say we don’t need a third
What does he know?
Those pictures of the doggy birfday are adorable! What a fun night and the food looks delicious.
Omgoah Kona is adorable (and so well behaved…my dog would have demolished anything dangled so close to her face! haha)
That looks like a lot of fun! And that cake looks to DIE FOR!
Awwm this is so cute!
I have never had a doggy birthday party… but puppy chow is one of my addictions!
That is too cute. I love the dog getting his cake with a candle. Those recipes look like they were delicious.
I always fill up on appetizers, usually hummus and then ruin my appetite for dinner, so I understand.
Ahh potluck style is the best! Its so fun to see what everyone brings to the table… and Cooking Light has some awesome recipes! I’m going to try out that bean dip.
Aww the birthday girl is adorable! It looks like she might have skipped blowing out that candle and went right for the cake.
I love Cold Stone! That cake sounds amazing.
Awww, cute puppies!!
That cake looks SO good!
Your outfit was really cute, Kath!

Wei-Wei
Thanks!
Kona’s cake was a dog cake, but we don’t know what it was made of.
Looks like a total blast!
omygosh is scooter a pug or mix?
Not sure!
He’s a pug! And he’s mine.
That looks like the perfect mix of healthful and fun foods – which is really the most “healthy” thing, ultimately, I think
And thanks for the links – that bean dip looks amazing!
yay dogs. i’m hanging out with a bunch as i type, but we could all use some puppy chow.
CUTE!! I love the idea of a doggie bday party!
What a fun dog birthday bash! I love puppy chow, but those PB&J Martinis sound amazing. I love your shot version.
That spread looks amazing, especially the white bean dip! I’ll need to try making that. How fun to have a birthday party for a dog! I’ve never thought of having one for my own, but I love a reason for a get-together!
Hi Kath =)
This is a little off topic, but I was wondering if you could share with us how you organize your photos on your computer since you seem to take a lot (…of great pics). Nerd KERF perhaps, or just some simple tips?
Thanks!
Yes, I can try to do that. It requires a different computer, so that’s kind of a pain – maybe I can do a photo clip?
Basically I use Windows Live Gallery. It’s a great photo organizing program. I upload my photos to a folder and then immediately resize them all to 600px into one big folder called UPLOAD. Then I work from there to copy and paste them into my post.
Ok, well no worries if it’s too difficult. I use Windows Live Gallery too and love the simplicity.
*I’d love to know how to resize them all at once though because that step always takes me lots of time
You can easily with WL Gallery! Just select them all and go to File–> Resize. That’s the main reason why i got it
Aww what a fun night. My mom used to throw birthday parties for my dog when we were little
Great balance and fun tonight.
PS- I agree with Hillary; would be great to learn your photo-sorting technique — that’d be an informative post.
Ha, a party hosted by RDs..no wonder the food was so good!
LOL at that little pug dog!! His face made me properly laugh out loud
Glad you had fun
Everything looks so delicious and those dogs are super cute
delicious looking party food. i would love one of those pbj shots! i agree, that color is perfect for you!
Love that shot
Yummy!
Glad it’s still the weekend!
OMG, so cute! That Scooter is one handsome little devil. He makes me miss my Harry so much.
Looks like you had a fun time and that shot looks sooooo yummy! Can we get the recipe for it? Pretty please?
I google PB&J Martini and found it pretty quickly:

Thanks – didn’t know if it was something they had made up.
This looks like such a fun spring gathering. All that good food–yum!
That looked like a really fun evening. Yummy food, too!
Oh my god, i think i have just fallen in love with dear little Scooter! he is so cute!
all the food looks FANTASTIC, too!
Happy Birthday to Kona! I love doggy birthday celebrations. My black lab adored his birthdays too because it always involved trips to the petstore, new toys and birthday cakes (which were always sweetened with bananas. )
Looks like you guys had fun!
Love the shirt
I LOVE that first picture! It looks like you all had a great time. And Puppy Chow might be one of my favorite splurges ever!
small world Kath! Caitlin went to undergrad with me at ECU, but graduated a year or so ahead of me.
It love it when that happens
