We went from 70* and sunny to stormy and chilled. Cold front is on the waaaaaaay!
I’ve been to Body Pump, the bakery and on two conference calls this afternoon.
I was absolutely famished after pump! My stomach started growling during class, which shouldn’t be the case after a normal filling breakfast. Even a cereal one. I think I have elevated hunger-hormone ghrelin levels from sleep deprivation – either that or the baby is hungry from all the ultrasound wiggling!
I immediately ate this snack when I returned from class – grapes, cheddar, animal crackers (which tasted sooo good!)
Now I’m digesting this number in my belly:
Pimento cheese + chutney on end pieces : ) My usual 3/4 sandwich request!
Plus an apple to crunch.
I had a taste of a Carpe Donut that was dropped by this morning. Satisfied my donut craving with the best kind possible – organic + local real food.
And we had visitors at the bakery! Bob is the minister at my parents’ church (and married Matt and me!) and his wife Mae Lee came in with her sister, who lives in Cville, and mother.
I have YET to pack for this trip we’re taking tomorrow. Last year’s Great Harvest Convention was a ton of fun!! It’s more of a vacation for all the owners (with lots of networking and engagement and some education mixed in) than a conference. This year it’s in San Diego and our flight leaves at 6am tomorrow morning!
Better get going!

I adore the purple stripped scarf your friend is wearing, too cute
Enjoy your trip!
That sandwich, and the little donut, look so delicious! And some days I’m like that too, my normal go-to breakfast just doesn’t hold me over!
Have a great flight and enjoy your weekend in San Diego. Great city! I’ll look forward to catching up on your posts on Monday morning. No access to the net on the weekend.
Mmmm…that donut looks like the perfect way to satisfy a craving! Good luck packing!
I need that donut. Happy packing!
Black does slim down, I don’t see a belly on you Kath!
Have a fun trip to San Diego
I want your sandwich, your apple and your donut! Have a great time at the convention.
I love BERF!
I love the look of that bread…so hearty…just the kind I would love to toast! Have a safe trip and a fun time at the convention!
Well, BERF was launched today, so the baby was like, “Let’s get on that, mommy!” Clearly they want to real food.
Gah! So jealous! I looooove San Diego!
Don’t you just hate when your stomach goes crazy loud with hunger!? It used to happen to me ALL THE TIME in my 12pm class. Horrible!
Have a safe trip tomorrow!
mmm your sandwich looks so hearty and delicious!!
Is it silly that I eat the heels of the bread as a special treat now when I used to LOATHE crust when I was a kid? So strange – lol!
I bet you are just lovin’ eating all this stuff.
The grape and cheese combo sounds fantastic! I’m also a bread-end gal. My husband will throw it away if I don’t swipe it! (Like, dude- at least save it for breadcrumbs!)
Hope there’s more warmness after this cold front…
I love the ends of the bread, toasted with margarine. Plain. As a treat.
Have fun in San Diego! I hope to be able to taste that delicious looking sandwich some day
Have so much fun in SD!! Looks like you’ve got packing to do
Have you guys joked around about genetic testing but really for celiac disease to make sure baby will be able to eat all things bread? Ha!
Can you do genetic testing for that!?
Sadly I don’t think so! We can’t even check genetic coding on non-placenta attached people.
<3 animal crackers! and it was freezing here today, too. no fun.
Well, don’t you look skinny and pretty as ever! That donut looks yummy!
I sure don’t feel it, so thank you!
San Diego is one of my favourite places on Earth!! Have a great trip!
That sandwich looks delicious!! It has me hungry now!!
Enjoy San Diego! Southern California is one of my favorite places ever!
That sandwich looks delish! Love the end pieces too!
You guys picked a great weekend to head to SoCal!
Because of the weather… forgot that part.
Have fun on your trip, the weather out here is beautiful right now!
I received my granola order today. That was fast! Enjoying some now. YUM!
Have a safe trip!
Oh wow – that was fast!
It’s been gorgeous in SoCal this week, so hopefully that will continue through the weekend for you guys!
How weird that they are having the convention in San Diego when there aren’t even any Great Harvests in San Diego! (I’m just bitter that there is not one here I guess
) Hmmmm…maybe I should change that and open one!?
They try to choose somewhere pretty warm – alternating east and west coast. There is one in Temecula and we’re going there tomorrow night!
Maternity jeans? Those are cute. So many great styles out there now for mom’s to be. Have a great time in SD. Suppose to be some gorgeous weather. Hence the reason I am hitting the Hot Springs this weekend at Glen Ivy.
Yup! GAP!
Although you don’t look pregnant, the glow is totally there. You look so pretty and happy
have a great time in SoCal!!
Ahhh donuts! That looks so delicious
Your lunches always looks so good and leave me wanting a delicious sandwich! Have fun in SD, I just got back from there! Such a great place and if you want to try a vegan fast food spot there is a place called Evolution in North Park/Bankers Hill area…sooo yummy!
Hey, girl! I don’t comment nearly as often as I’d like — BUT I just had to tell you that I majorly craved donuts during my pregnancy. Well, and after, now, too.
Anyway . . . NOM. Very excited to follow your adventures to mommy-hood.
I need to make some homemade ones!
I don’t know if anyone else posted this yet but it is hot here and beautiful. Enjoy!
you really are glowing. congrats on the b. you made me want a donut…
Been awhile since I had a donut, that one looks yummy!
Is it weird that I remember reading about last year’s convention- safe travels!
I’m in love with that cutting board in the opening picture…so pretty!
Wish we were going to San Diego!
Since we have not had much of a winter–I wish we would have had more snow–I now want spring to be in full swing! I am over winter because it disappointed me this year

That pimento cheese always looks so good! Do you give out the recipe? Did you ever post it?
It’s a Great Harvest recipe, so I can’t share, but bitesandbowls.com has a great one!
beautiful pictures! and may i say, you are seriously glowing. congrats!
I usually read my favorite blogs on my breaks at work…yours is my FAVORITE!! But, for some reason I can read KERF but our firewalls block BERF…rarely have time at home to even get on the computer but I guess I will have to start. CONGRATULATIONS TO BOTH YOU AND MATT, YOU WILL MAKE WONDERFUL PARENTS!!
