Green Desires

November 28, 2010

Was in the mood for something different – and festive! – this morning.

I wanted a green smoothie, but also something crunchy and toasty. I decided to have both!

One of Matt’s cheesy rolls broiled and topped with cranberry sauce on one side and Maranatha AB on the other, and coconut for garnish.

Smoothie of Desire

  • 1 cup organic milk
  • 1/2 banana
  • 1 plum
  • 2 big handfuls spinach

It was amazingly fluffy! And would you believe I drank it out of a….glass!? No bowl or spoon!

Less bulk, banana?

I think it’s great you crave green smoothies even when the weather turns cold. I have a bit of trouble making them in colder weather. Consequently, I have to get creative to keep my spinach intake high.

That looks so good. My green smoothies always come out with spinach leaves still hanging out in them. I think its cause our blender is going on 20 years old haha
happy sunday! :)

Mmm coconut has to be one of the best garnishes. Well, that and chocolate shavings ;)

I love making rolls or biscuits for breakfast because you can have 2 toppings instead of one.

Mmm.. never thought to put cranberry jelly in place of grape or strawberry. That opens up many new options for festive breakfasts :) I have a jar of my mom’s home cranberry jelly, too, even better!
