Morning was good. Finished another essay question!
Elliptical warm-up at the gym was good.
Sculpt was good. Felt the burn…hard!
Shower was good
Lunch was good!
I made a Greek salad – lettuce with olives, capers, avocado, hummus, carrot and some Melba toasts
Plus a Greek yogurt mixture – a container of plain Oikos with a heaping tbsp of PB2, chopped apple, cinnamon and a few salted peanuts
Stood on a chair to capture this!
NERD KERF: Episode IV
Google Tasks! How I stay sane:

It is only 66* in our house!! It’s too early for heat, though, so I’m just freezing in a fleece preparing for Montana weather.
Gotta do another essay question, PACK, fold laundry and hit the road for class at 5PM.
(And OMG to Josh Groban’s version of Jesu Joy of Man’s Desiring! Just came on Pandora!)

My husband makes us keep the house at 66 all the time! BRRRR. Sometimes I rebel and put it up to 68…
That salad looks so good
I love those nerd kerf videos
We JUST turned the heat on… well… I did
just to get the house to 70, then i turned it off
Your salad looks VERY good! Very colorful!
Have a great trip to Montana! I hope all works out at Great Harvest!
Glad for the good day
I’m a person who would much rather be cold than hot. There are only so many clothes you can take off without being indecent!
I seriously adore these KERF Nerd vids!
And capers & olives in salad is my fave. Clearly I’ve got a thing for sodium
Be careful standing in chairs
NERD KERF is awesome! thanks Kath
I use all the thing you mention, but I’ve learnt a tip/trick I didn’t know about each video!
Have a fantastic time in Montana! You are going to be driving through a beautiful area
I just broke down and turned on the heat yesterday
But I am in Boston…
I’m actually not a fan of olives or capers, but your photography looks so beautiful! I know you have a great camera (better than mine) but do you have any lighting tricks you want to pass on? (I know no flash…)
Just turned the heat on last night!
I just reordered my PB2 stash so I can’t wait until I can have the deliciousness that is Greek yogurt + PB2
We keep our house set at 66 in the winter and fall to save money. We just bundle up in layers. The heat has come on already because it’s in the mid 40s today!
It’s around that temp in our house too-we have it set that way to keep our bills down. It’s cold, but I’d rather put on an extra sweatshirt!
i’m refusing to turn on the heat too…but i don’t know how much longer i can hold off- it’s freezing!
It was 65 in our house for the past 2 weeks. Yesterday is hit 58…and I had to turn on the heat!
It’s absolutely frigid in our office today. I cannot stand it. Can’t believe it’s gotten so chilly outside!!
I’m a cold weather wuss and already have the heat on. It’s in the 40s in Boston and I don’t care what the calendar says, I’m putting on the heat!!
I saw someone suggest Mckenzie River Pizza on your earlier post. Its a Montana chain, and one of my favorites. The green horn sandwich (which is all veggies plus pesto mayo) is the best, but I am never dissapointed with anything there.
It is supposed to be like 50 in West this weekend so at least you will have warm/ good weather!
Anywho, have a safe flight and ENJOY!
Seriously, you don’t want to know how cold it is in Scotland!
Anyway, I don’t know if you can get these bars (or this brand) in the states, but if you can, I would highly recommend them, particularly the cranberry and almond. So so tasty, and very natural. And no, I don’t work for them, just thought you might like them!

Montana is on my “must visit” list (along with about a million other places, ha) so I can’t wait to see your photos! If you moved out there, it’d be quite the change, huh?
How have I never noticed the task button and how have I lived without it?
Okay that aerial shot of the yogurt/apple/peanut combo is total food porn. The camera was worth it!
Ok, I think I might finally need to cave and try some PB2.
I’m anxious to see what my thermostat says when I get home, it’s too early to turn the heat on, you are right! Brrr…
Yeah, I love nerd KERF. I need to catch up on the videos. I cleaned out my gmail inbox last week, and it has made me SO HAPPY. Before I had thousands of disorganized emails. Now, everything important is categorized, and the junk has been deleted!
thanks for the video!
and i LOVE that you love josh groban too. i met him, and it changed my life, haha
have a great day <3
I love love love that yogurt mixture!!! Seriously sounds delicious.
Josh Groban is one of my all-time favorite singers. I was actually lucky enough to see him in concert 2 years ago. He was AMAZING!
I need to get back on the salad track. I used to have a ton of greens around, but since I’m the only one who eats them they go bad pretty quickly and bad lettuce = stinky.
Can’t wait to check out your new gmail video, they are so helpful!
i make a yummy dip that reminds me of your apple mix today! i use cream cheese, chopped peanuts & brown sugar as a dip for tart apples. SO tasty!
I wonder where I can find PB2 out here in the country, your yogurt combo looks divine!
I can leave the heat on 66-67 if the sun is shining, but our windows are drafty, so if it’s overcast and/or windy I have to turn it up to 68-69 just to keep from shivering. I hate it!
Going to listen to Josh Groban – Jesu was one of our wedding processional songs!!
i like your apples + oikos + peanuts mixture!
I like your lunch!
We put the heat on 66 or 68 all winter. We wear warm clothes and use blankets. Keeps us warm and bills low.
that yogurt looks AMAAAAAAZING
So I went to C+B to find your cute little chubby spoons that I love =) aaaand they only had condiment size ones. You have full size right? The condiment size were so small, I couldn’t see eating oatmeal with them…boo!! I was sad..Love the yogurt combo!
get ready for montana!
jenna
I love your greek yogurt mix. The peanuts look so good on there. I almost never have peanuts. They’re so cheap and yummy as a topping. Thanks for the idea!
I love the yogurt + apple combo!
I can’t wait to have that greek yogurt – that looks yummy!! My fav is nuts, honey and blueberries but I must explore !!
Its 60 in my house right now. No heat until November 1 for me!
Hi Kath!
Loved the video, just wondering, have you replaced todoist with google tasks, or do you still use todoist? Also, is there any way to not have to open up a completely new window to see google calender, reader, etc?
Sounds like a GOOD day
Your yogurt combo looks totally delicious!
Mmm, your homemade Greek salad looks great! I rarely am able to order a Greek salad out bc I can’t cucumbers and don’t like Feta..
Never realized how user friendly the Google Tasks and Gmail seems to be. I was just saying today how I wished Outlook Task could show along side the calendar.
Thanks for the tip.
Not to be overly dramatic or anything – but these Nerd Kerf videos are changing my life!!!!
I love your Gmail tutorials! I’m trying to switch over from Thunderbird to Gmail/Google, so its super helpful!
Emily,
Just that natural light and no flash are the way to go. If you can’t have natural light, have as much light as you can from lamps.
the kitkat,
I’m guessing they’re not over here, but if (when!) I come back to the UK, I can’t wait to try some new foods!
Ashley,
It IS a condiment size one!! I don’t usually eat oatmeal with it – mostly just yogurt and other smooth things.
Isabel,
I am 100% Google tasks now, although I do still think ToDoist is a better program. I just like having the Google ones integrated now, so I switched. You can pop it out of the window, but I don’t think it has its own browser page.
Susan,
Haha – LOVE IT!
Kath
Josh Groban! Love.
AH! Your videos are always so helpful. As usual I learned a lot from NERD KERF and will start using tasks more now that I know how better.
Thanks Kath – I think I have to set up some more lamps in my kitchen – my overhead light is creating shadows, but without it there is not enough light.
Hi Kath,
I just wanted to say how helpful I am finding your videos! Thanks so much for sharing.
Also, yes, to Mr Groban
Have a great day!
Emily.
