What a wonderful, wonderful day this was. I hate to attribute it all to the glorious sunny warm weather, but I have a feeling that had a lot to do with it! I spent a lot of time outside, working that didn’t feel like working, exercising that didn’t feel like exercising and ending the day relaxing with our friends.
Snack In A Jar
I had a crumbled up piece of Faith’s manna bread with some Flying Squirrel PB Nutty-Buddy residue! What a fun mash!
My new sign stands are here and they are perfect!
And Matt and I took a bunch of headshots for bakery marketing use – I’m really pleased with how well they turned out using just a tripod and a remote control!
I really liked this one – but not enough logos are showing!
So this one is the favorite!
Yup – my secret is out. I have a remote control and it is awesome!! Cost me about $15 bucks, I think.
Then we BIKED! AGAIN!
Downtown
Where we met up with the Cville Green Drinks club!
Have you heard of Green Drinks? It’s a club for eco-minded peeps who also enjoy a cold one. There might be one in your town!
The event was held at Brookville, a restaurant where we went on my birthday and I need to get back! It’s extremely local-minded and really cute!
Unfortunately the meeting was all men – plus me – and there wasn’t a huge turnout, but we still had fun.
I ordered the Bornem Dubbel – mmmmmmm dubbels are awesome! Look for one on your next beer menu visit and I promise you’ll love it! Thick and sweet!
We left Green Drinks and headed to Faith and Tate’s!
Bless them and their hospitality!!
We were greeted with an outdoor table set, dinner cooked and sparkling wine!!! I stuck to one tiny pour because I’d already had one [green] drink already.
Lounging in Tate’s homemade surfboard chair!!
On the menu: Fish Tacos!
With all the fixins – cabbage, cheese, avocado, mango
Plus a side salad (with homemade sprouted beans – I’d expect nothing less from Faith!), homemade salsa, and homemade refried beans!
They tasted quite incredible!!! Perfect almost-summer meal –
We moved inside for dessert, where we chatted for 2 hours and munched on apple, dark chocolate and mint tea
We owe them a gourmet dinner at our place next time!
The bike ride home was cold, but also a little refreshing by the end of it. And I’m ready for bed!

using just a tripod and a remote control that cost you $15….oh, I am ALL OVER that!
I just got my tripod…today! Showed up in today’s UPS and I love it. I went to a really awesome photography workshop with some “famous” photographers over the weekend and realized I couldnt put off a tripod purchase any longer. And now I see a remote control…I need that too
Your pics turned out beautifully!
Fish tacos with mango and avocado…oh, yummy!
The cute pillow.
So much in this post I love!
The photos your took via remote look so good! I need to get me one of those. My fam members get so nervous with my big ol’ camera. I like the 2nd photo with the logos better than the first, actually. So cute.
It looks like you had a very productive day – I think you took more pictured in one day than I do in an entire week! Made me want to have fish taco’s
you guys look too cute! those pics will certainly do the job!
Tacos look delish as well. I wish we had warm weather so that we could also dine al fresco! ahhh chicago, sigh…
Wow those photos are very well done. Good job!
Yummy looks like such a great dinner!
Your head shots came out well! I need to get that remote for my Rebel, and a tripod! I’ve been fibbing myself needing more hands for pictures lately!
Your dinner loons spectacular! I love everything about it. Yum!
Literally like the 4th blog I’ve read when someone eats fish tacos. Super jealous. The pics look awesome!
Omg, so many typos due to iPad autofill!! That should say finding and looks, not fibbing and loons! LOL
I love the photos! They look really good
Tried making some tofu tacos tonight, but these look a lot more successful than mine! Should have stuck to fish!
You and Matt look great in those pics! Great job with the tripod + remote
And fish taco dinner looks scrumptious! mmmm
Is that a tea press? COOL!
It’s a regular coffee french press and you can make tea in them
The pictures are awesome! I like the second one better than the first one you liked! Very cute! Dinner at Faith and Tate’s looks tasty as usual!
Great promo pics!
Sounds like a great day and a great way to end the day with awesome friends. Faith and Tate put together a yummy looking meal.
This whole dinner looks AMAZING!
Hmm, those tacos do look amazing!!
Just by your pictures, I can honestly say that I love downtown C-ville.
I bet those were the best OIAJ ever.
We have a Green Drinks group in ATL I’ve been meaning to check out. Their meeting locations are awesome.
I love all the headshot photos– you two are such a beautiful, glowing couple and I”m sure that will attract so many customers to your store!
What lovely friends you have to make you that yummy, wholesome meal- jealous much?
Love the remote – totally worth the money!
Do you wear a helmet while you are riding around town? My boyfriend just bought me a bike for my birthday and I’m just curious.
Always!!
I love the back to back one
So cute!
i’ve got to admit, when i’m at home, i use both a tripod & remote. they are easier & i’ve got more control.
i love the pictures of you & matt, i’m so excited for you both.
I like the remote control. That is pretty inexpensive for it! I thought it would be more than that.
I wish I could grab one of those fish tacos through the computer screen, because they look amazing, and I am getting hungry just looking at them. I do not need to eat, though, at 12:37AM

Guess which two people love the camera!
Hey there, ran across your blog. I live on the dt mall but am moving with my bf to a house in the neighborhood up behind McIntire Plaza (literally like a 2 min walk
I’m usually @ Cville Coffee writing my dissertation a few times a week so I can’t wait to check out the bakery when it opens! I used to go to GH a good amount in Ann Arbor when I lived there. Good luck!!
Oh how fun!! Is it Birdwood Ct? There’s a house for sale up there that I like
yep Birdwood!!
Seems like it will be a nice neighborhood, still close to downtown but not right on the mall where I live now (parking is a nightmare!)
Oh fun!! The house on that street for sale has a killer master bath
Really??! The one we’re moving into is right on the corner where it turns from Birdwood St. to Ct. It is completely renovated inside but def doesn’t have a killer master bath haha. Maybe we’ll be neighbors sometime soon??
Maybe so! We’re hoping to buy in the North Downtown area. We’ll have to come check out your place sometime!
I know EXACTLY the one you are talking about, Kath!! =D
Haha – real estate nerds!!
Guilty as charged!!
I HEART those photos! Too cute.
i love the headshot you chose! looks very natural.
Tate and Faith always make the best food! Such great friends to have
Loving those headshots — with or without the logos. Super cute. Love my tripod & remote, too! It’s so much better than the “long arm reach” when we want a pic together!
So, random question: Any chance you have any idea where Faith & Tate got their dishes? I <3 them, and have been looking for something similar to no avail…
Bed, Bath, and Beyond and I’m pretty sure they still have them. I’m glad you like them because once Kath started taking pictures of them I never looked at them the same (I don’t think the color photographs very well
). But thanks!
Lara – If you have no luck at BB+B, I’ve seen very similar (the same?) earthware at Crate and Barrel.
Man I’m so jealous of your snack in the jar! After weeks of anticipation, it was finally time for oats in a jar this morning. After excitingly making it, I had one bite and bam- the milk had gone off and the whole breakfast (pb-encrusted jar included) had to be chucked away. I almost cried.
Oh how tragic!!
no! i wait so long to use up that pb jar for oats that I would’ve been crushed had this happened
you two are just way too cute!
I am totally craving fish tacos now, but unfortunately it was only 45 degrees here today!
I love how you bike everywhere! I honestly don’t even own a bike.. but really want to get one.. it is such a more convenient and healthy way to get around.. for the person riding and for the earth!
Dark chocolate and apples … are amazing. As is nut jar mash ups!
Your headshots turned out great! I love the second one better than the first actually. I think the gap in the first one is too distracting perhaps.
And fish tacos is definitely something I will have to try soon, those look delicious.
Superb headshots, they’re really lovely! I need to get my bike out again (it’s currently gathering cobwebs in the shed). Dark chocolate and apple is such a delicious combination – and I love mint tea too, so two thumbs up for dessert.
Very cute pictures! What a fabulous dinner! Fish tacos look so good!
A remote! Love it. I was always wondering if they had some sort of control like that. Now you have me checking out amazon.
All the pictures are great and I think my favorite is the one who you guys ended up choosing. So exciting!
You look AMAZING, and those pictures are so sweet!
I LOVE the picture of you guys!! Honestly, it’s perfect!
Do you think Tate and Faith need any more friends because I would love to get to know them, LoL.
Photos look great! A remote… what an awesome idea!
Such a fun afternoon/evening! Those shots do look amazing – I like #6 and #9 if you are counting going across. Those fish tacos looks so good!
I think the classic children’s book needs to be retitled:
“The Matt in the Hat”
great pics….what an exciting time in your life!
Biking in crisp spring or fall weather is the best sleep aid around! I’m always so happy-tired when I’ve had a good long bike ride. You’ve inspired me to take out the bike this weekend and make sure that all’s running well. The meal that your friends made you is beautiful! I love that they sliced fruit and took out some dark chocolate for dessert. I would never think of serving that to guests…although I eat it for dessert myself almost every night.
I like the ones you chose too! They look great! I’m glad you had a great day Kath. I know you needed it!
I love the 4th photo in the second row – but it’s similar to one you selected as well!
Your skin is gorgeous by the way.
Downtown C-ville looks so cute!
Your pictures look great!
Dubbels are great, working my way towards feeling the same for tripels
Those tacos look amazing! Faith when are you going to invite me over?
Love the headshots! The one you chose for a business partner photo would be my pick too, though your smile looks particularly joyous in the previous no-logo one…maybe you could crop it for your singular standard professional headshot. (Mango-orange is definitely your color!)
Could you guys be any cuter? I love the headshots!
And I’m gonna look into Greendrinks.
I love your little photoshoot I cant believe the tripod and remote was so cheap, im definitely on the lookout for one. Food looks amazing as usual and im jealous of your bikeride I need to get outside and get some sun its amazing how it just energizes you!
Just the remote was cheap – tripods are much more expensive!
Oh cool, there is a Green Drinks Atlanta chapter. I might have to check that out. It reminds me of something else called Drinking Liberally which is a bunch of liberals who like to talk about politics and like to drink.
Your headshots look fantastic! Great idea to do them yourself instead of shelling out mega $$ to get someone else to do them. They look super professional as is!
Camera remotes are one of the least expensive, but best camera accessory. We use ours to take a family portrait at Christmas every year!
What a great day! I love the headshots and your dinner looked delicious.
And yes I LOVE that surfboard chair! What a cool idea.
The photograph of the girl you took in the bar is so ellegant & sheik!
Awesome photos!
Those refried beans look so good!
Beautiful photos–you two make quite the pair!
Those pictures are beautiful! You and Matt are very photogenic!
Dinner looks incredible too!
I’m loving that dish wear!
I love ALL of the pics! It’s hard to decide which is the best, haha
All of your biking makes me want to get my ol’ road bike outta the shed and go for a long ride! I’m glad you were able to get a little fun into your work day, and I’m loving that homemade chair haha
your outfit is so cute! love the necklace with that color shirt! wish i could pair stuff like that!!
We do have a Green Drinks here in Burlington, VT. It’s always packed! The fish tacos look SOOO good!!
I just bought some of that sneaky squirrel peanut butter per your recommendation, can’t wait to use it in my morning oats!
that dinner looks uh-mazing! you have such great friends!
I’m craving fish tacos now….and I love the addition of the mango!! MUST BUY IT SOON!
I just love your downtown!! It is so quaint and adorable!
What a great dinner with friends too!
This makes me need summer and barbecues so bad!!
Looks like it was a lot of fun
A remote eh? Hmmm.. I might just have to go investigate! Thanks for sharing!
this day sounds awesome! so many of my favorite things!
ive really been meaning to get back to Brookville as well. i love the chef and his concepts!
the GH photo is a great one. so sad i will of already graduated by the time it opens!
AWESOME dinner-wow!! I love the remote control idea, that is so flippin’ fabulous–going on my wish list!!
Awesome pictures kath. You guys should do one of you jumping in the air! or HANDSTANDS!
I think the sun makes a HUGE different in my mood!
