Hey!!
Somehow I let myself get really behind schedule and I have exactly 4 minutes to post!
After forcing myself to do a bunch of computer work this morning, I rewarded myself with a house project after: hanging frames! Matt walked me through how to use a bit, anchor and screw in dry wall and so I hung this little gallery myself instead of relying on him to do it in the evenings.
The location is at the bottom of our basement stairs – which I LOVE because every time I walk by from the top floor I look down and see it. It was so bland before. I don’t like hanging frames up and down the staircase because that makes me feel claustrophobic, so this was the perfect way to get some color and personality into the space. The K + M were from the church doors at our wedding!
I went to the noontime Body Pump express at 12:10 (ran there – so quick!) and walked home. Then picked up Matt’s car from the inspection place. Then had lunch!
A veggie + pear + bleu salad…
…with a side of Blueberry Siggi’s (which tastes like tart frozen yogurt to me!) topped with The Cluster
I just managed a super fast shower.
Dem hurrs need cuttin!

Your spoon for your yogurt is so cute!! Where’d you get it?
Getting a new ‘do or just a trim?!
I brought it back from Africa!
I absolutely love all the frames on That wall! Especially initials. I’d love to do Something similar in my house one day!
I love hanging clusters of art/photos like that. Yours looks like the perfect mix!!
aww whatta cute wall! I like the idea of filling that space with warm and delightful decos <3
I love what you did with the wall! I think it looks great! I really like the K & M letters too. I’m thinking of doing something similar for my wedding
Lunch looks delicious!
Excellent four-minute post!
I love how the frames look in the stairwell…I love how a lot of color fills up a blah space.
And yay for Siggi’s! I haven’t bought it in ages, since it’s so pricey, but found some on sale at the co-op yesterday. So deliciously tart.
Hope you’re well, Kath!
The frames look great! And your Siggis looks so cute – I thought the black and white thing was something chocolate-y but I’m assuming it’s a spoon? Either way, awesome lunch!
My parents have pictures at the bottom of their basement stairs too and I’ve always loved the way it looked! Once we finish our basement, I might be doing the same thing! Love the K and M- so sweet
I love the K and M.
And I love them even more since they were from your wedding day! A little extra meaning.
I haven’t tried siggi’s yet, i’ll have to check it out! And I’m very impressed with your hanging skills… that is definitely not something that I am currently capable of…
They layout of those pictures looks great! Impressive that you hung all those pictures. I always leave stuff like that for my husband. Actually once I hung 3 pictures and totally mauled the wall behind them. Much harder than it looks.
Ditto. >3 the frames and initials. So sweet. Nice job Kath.
I love the picture gallery you hung! Looks great!
I never thought of showering before a hair cut. I guess that saves some money right?
Well my body needed a good cleanin!!
Can I have your lunch? Looks yummy
Great job with the frames! Love how it looks!
What is Siggi’s?! It looks delish!
A greek yogurt – thick and low in sugar
I love how the pictures look! It makes me want to buy a big H and a J to hang in our house.
hey the framed wall looks awesome! I like that look
BodyPUMP rocks. WHeeee! Have FUN at the hair cut!
I like the wall at the bottom of the basement stairs, it really jazzes it up!
Your salad looks SOOO good! Pears + blue are a winning combo. Yum!
I love the placement of the pictures!! I think you and Matt definitely are naturals when it comes to decorating. The bakery looked fabulous when Kaci and I visited, and I LOVE all of the pictures of your new house!
Have a great rest of the afternoon!
Frames look great. I wish I had more framed artwork! And the initials must have been such a great touch at your wedding!
Cute K & M. I wish I could try this Siggis!
If you really posted in 4 minutes I am beyond amazed at your efficiency!!!!
I know you have posted before about your blog-posting workflow and how you do it…but seriously, you amaze me. There is just.no.way I am anywhere near that fast!
And your DIY project looks great!
LOVE THE GALLERY!
Hi Kath, I am about to start a job which will require to me to work the midnight shift (12am-8am). I was just wondering if you (or Matt) would have any suggestions for how to survive this schedule. Matt’s day also starts pretty early so I was hoping you might have some tips on how to maintain a productive, heathly lifestyle despite this odd work schedule.
I am deferring to Matt on this!
Well, the midnight shift is quite a bit different from the baker’s shift despite a difference of only a few hours, but I can tell you what it’s like for us here and maybe you’ll get some helpful tips out of it! The bakers get here at 3:30am. My advice to them is to go to bed as early as they reasonably can, and resist the temptation to take a nap after their shift. If you work the early shift several times in one week, and then you take one big nap before the weekend, you’re usually close enough to a normal schedule to enjoy the weekend with everyone else. This may not be as possible for you – you’ll have to decide if you’re going to sleep before or after your shift. I recommend basing the decision on your social life to be honest. My thought is that you can eat and sleep anytime, but if your friends are doing exciting things without you, you’ll regret missing out. I hope that helps!
You did a great job hanging the photos! I really like the K and M.
Have fun at the hair salon.
opps 12pm-8am!!
I love the Initials! In fact I just love everything monogrammed so that probably why. YUMMM blue cheese and pears are such a winning combo…enjoy getting your hurrrr did!!
hmmm siggi’s! haven’t tried the blueberry yet…looks delish!
love your wall decor!
You did this in 4 minutes? I’m impressed! We need to hang pictures up in our apartment, but I don’t really know what I want to do yet and I don’t want to risk nailing unnessary holes in the wall. I need to start looking for some inspiration! That salad looks delicious.
you are GOOD at hanging pix! mine are all crooked!
You need a level!
Loving the salad idea! I have pears to use up
OMG completely in love with that little zebra spoon!!! Where’d you get it?
I brought it back from Kenya
I love salad with fruit in it! Mmmm pears.
Those pics really brighten up the space! Love the inclusion of the letters from your wedding
What a great idea. That looks really nice. I love the baseboard, too. Is that a darker color in the baseboard? Really a nice look.
Yeah – it’s grayish. I love it!
It’s so different and stylish….I just love it! Love the whole house!
the wall is beautiful!! and love those wedding monograms
love the wall!!
Love the drawing of El Leon! Too cute! Really like the personal touch with your initials too!
I have yet to try Siggi’s but it looks so good every time you feature it – is it super thick??
Cait – Siggi’s is the BEST. It is SO SO SO thick… it’s just $$$. But tooootally worth the splurge now and then
Cait – Def try Siggi’s! It’s thick, and has only 9 grams of sugar per 5 oz. (with flavor!) – just an incredible nutritional profile, and it’s delicious – I eat it pretty much everyday. Worth the price (usually about $2 each). WF is the only place I know of in Atlanta where you can get it, and they do put it on special occasionally.
Reminds me of YHL’s gallery, which I adore!
Love that spoon! I avoided hanging things down the staircase walls for that same reason in our house this time around too. The frames came out great
GREAT job with the hanging up the art! And what a lovely idea for a wedding… so cute that you saved them and hung them up
I still have lots of art to hang up.. and we moved in our new apartment in June!! Yikes!
Pears + blue cheese = HEAVEN.
Impressive 4 minute post!
I always stare at the Siggi’s and decide if I want to splurge on it. The frequency with which I see it on your blog is improving the odds that I will buy it next time
I like the way you hung your picture frames!
I absolutely love blueberry yogurt! I have never seen the siggi’s brand before, though.

Pictures along a staircase makes me think of grandmothers and being outdated. I don’t need to see all 8X10 school year pictures of all 12 of your grandchildren, 2nd neices, and your neighbor’s kids. They all are sporting bad hair anyways. hahaha
kath, i just whipped up an afternoon snack of PUMPKIN CAKE (pumpkin + stevia + egg white + cinnamon) and it was delicious!! talk about old-school KERF! that’s how long i’ve been reading
HA.
WOW – old school!!!
LOVE the wall of frames!!!
I just LOVE that little frame arrangement! SO cute!
Such a cute frame idea. The K + M really make it unique.
Definitely love the frames and the K+M!
That’s a great idea with the frames. I too don’t like pictures down a staircase, but this is a great solution.
The house is totally coming along!
love the photo frame arrangement, Kath! I’m trying to work on something similar for my new apt. nails and drills and such make me nervous!
Blueberry siggis is my fav flavor other than their vanilla! But both are incredibly delicious! Love that thickness!
siggs is the shizz. your beautiful pear and blue cheese salad inspired me to make greens for lunch tomorrow. thanks!
I love all of your frames! And what a neat idea to hang it on the basement wall! And mmm pears…
LOVE the new decor– totally my style. Good call on the placement and organization
Totally Crate and Barrel or Pottery Barn. you’re so talented!
Your wall looks absolutely PERFECT! After painting hallway walls, we are getting ready to hang up family pictures and other memoribilia, so once again you are providing me with inpiration and ideas. Love the pear, cheese and greens combination, they were all part of my salad tonight.
The wall looks fantastic! Even your bleu cheese looks great – and I HATE bleu cheese! Ha!
I’m loving the K & M frames..I’m sure El Leon feels pretty special too
!
I just have to say, that I totally think that your house looks adorable!! Great job on the decorating!
go & get your herr did
