Good morning! We had lightening and thunder last night! And woke up to grey skies. But the sun is coming out as I type!
Hello my darling oatmeal <3
Back-To-Normal Oats
- 1/3 cup oats, milk, water
- 1 tbsp flax (matt’s choice! I missed the chia so I put them on top. Not the same)
- Half banana
- Pinch salt
- Coconut
- Chia seeds
- 1 butterscotch chip (matt’s deposit!)
- Peanut Butter Boy Peanut Butter
Nick, The Peanut Butter Boy, is making his own line of peanut butters! He sent me a tiny jar to give him some feedback on. I have tasted many a nut butter! This was the creamiest homemade (I think it’s homemade) peanut butter ever. Super sticky too! Great nutty flavor.
New (old) linens from Mom!
Also, new jugs on our porch. Love them! They’ll likely end up in the bakery.
Catch me if you can!

Love the porch jugs! We used to sell them in our farm market. Brings back memories!
Your oatmeal looks so yummy!!
I love those linens!! So pretty. I have always had a fascination with old linens. I remember when I was a teenager, I spent my hard earned money of vintage handkerchiefs. Weird, I know. I do still have them, though.
Christie, I wish you’d been at Mom’s retirement center to see the display of old hankerchiefs from a collector who lives there. She has two fun books where the handkerchiefs are tucked into the illustrations. Never seen that before!

That sounds really cool! I have seen all sorts of cool things made out of them. The most popular seems to be scented sachets for lingerie drawers.
Welcome Home! I had my oats this morning too. Have a wonderful week.
I love the new linens! And the jugs too
They actually look pretty cute sitting on the porch like that!
I bet you are glad to have your oatmeal back, hehe
Hope you have a productive day, Kath. Oh-I’m excited to see the next Home Neat Home
Such a pretty new linen! That was actually the first thing I noticed in your first pic. Super sweet of your grandma to give you!
Your linens are so beautiful — they add such a homey quality that I love!
It has been raining off an on for the past few days here — I love it!
Love those linens! The embroidery is so pretty!
You should offer some of your grams work for sale in the bakery! Or some things like placemats etc.
Oooh, I second this idea! Your gram is too talented.
Did you hear that crazy loud crack of thunder at 6-6:30 this morning?!
Welcome home!
The linen is darling! Oatmeal makes me gag. I read your blog every day and keep trying to like oats, but no, still hate the oatmeal. Now, leftover oatmeal cookies? That’s a different story.
I can’t do hot oats, either. But overnight oats made with steel cut oats, now that is another story! I just mix a little yogurt, milk, oats, and usually some trail mix/nuts, etc. in it and let it set overnight. In the morning, I leave it out of the fridge for 30 mins or so, to knock the chill off, and then top with almond butter. Delicious!
That blob of PB looks delicious – and the one butterscotch chip is the star of the oats (good one, Matt!)
Have a great day Kath!
Love the linens and the jugs (and I am not hitting on you)! I love stuff like that, especially vintage stuff. Have a great day Kath and enjoy being home!
Your oats are always so pretty!

Your new linens are so pretty!
Ohhh, I LOVE those linens!!! Such pretty stitching!
I agree! I would love to learn how to do simple stitching like that. Would be so much fun to make your own linens!
I love the linens! so homey and cute! and your oats are always so cute!
We’ve had some rain and thunder lately too. But since it’s now spring, I”m okay with that
Bring on the warm sunny days, and evening thunderstorms
Oh yum! This bowl of oats looks really amazing! Especially the coconut!
The nut butter is your photos looks insanely creamy…I need some now!
There’s no place like home, complete with your own oats, bowls, toppings, and of course, linens
The oatmeal looks so good, and I love the new linens. The jugs are cute, they were all over my grandmas house when I was younger.
Love the linen
Happy Monday!
That was a quick trip.
I wonder how he made a creamier peanut butter. Interesting.
Thanks to you I now have chia seeds on my oatmeal!! I love the jugs!!
Sounds like we had/have the exact same weather in Wisconsin! Last night we had some lightning and thunder, but it looks like it might clear up for today.
Loving the mix this morning, and that linen is so pretty. Is it homemade or storebought?
I have no idea! Probably homemade back in the day
I think those are homemade.
after a vacation, home always looks good
I flew home through the rain! Luckily no thunder and lightning except what I saw from a distance.
So glad to have just stumbled across your blog! It seems like we have a lot in common, with shared love for oatmeal and coconut, antique linens, and porch jugs. We have a collection of traditional metal water urns on our terrace here in Nepal. I think one of these would be a nice addition to your pair
Welcome!
Wow, the oatmeal looks wonderful. Gorgeous linens and the jugs are so fun!
Im loving the back to normal oats ; ) and I love that linen too!
Have a great day Kath! xo <3
Love your new (old) linens! Gorgeous!

Congratulations… I will have to look for it. It had not even occurred to me you would be ‘walking the red carpet’, I was just envious that you were at the world’s greatest 10 days of over 1,500 best bands performing and all of the premiers, oh and don’t forget all of the private parties
Hope you had fun. Guess you will need a vacation from the vacation-enjoy the oats.
That oatmeal looks very good! The peanut butter looks so creamy! I haven’t had oatmeal in such a long time! I need to bring some oats back to my life.
Nothing like that first night back in your own bed after a long trip! Send some of that sunshine up my way please! Its a very rainy monday in Pennsylvania.
Yum! I love oatmeal. I ended up eating it for lunch today!
Cute jugs…..that sounds weird.
I love that color green (of the bowl)!!!!
And YAY for the peanut butter boy! I had no idea he was making his OWN line of PB! I can’t wait til it’s available for purchase!
Love the new (old) linens – I liked the ones from last night too. Very pretty!
Some friends and I are making a quilt for a friend of our’s who is getting married this summer and so I learned to embroider and I’m not joking, it friggin’ rocks and now when I see stuff like that linen it makes me feel special because I could totally make that!
those oats are making my mouth water!
Oh man, I’d forgotten about the peanut butter boy! I used to totally love his blog

I’m loving your Spring colors! They put me in a good mood.

I think I’m actually drooling over your beautiful bowl of oats!!!
Love the linens too, so pretty
Love the linens!
I have fond memories of watching my great-aunt using an embroidery circle to make personalized handkerchiefs.
You know you’ve made it big when people send you PB samples to test out to get your opinion before the product hits the shelf…
Ohhhh how I wish I had people lining up, sending me samples of PB to test out “just because…”
Yes. I am totally jealous. You are so blessed, Kath!
I eat oatmeal every morning now! While reading this blog I realized how much I missed oatmeal. LOOOOOOOOOOVE
beautiful linens! made even more beautiful since they were a family gift
Fresh food back at home is the. best. So delicious. Slash those jugs are so rustic chic!
Glad you made it home safe and sounds
And good to see your oatmeal back!
So funny, after you posted about sunflower butter all the time recently I went on a spoon-butter binge and now I’m really glad when you use peanut butter, because I need a break from the sunflower one myself!
I love being able to eat my own breakfast again after being away on a trip! That oatmeal looks like the perfect welcome home breakfast.
I spotted the butterscotch chip! Hilarious. :-p
I agree…so nice to be home in your own kitchen after being away…and what better breakfast to celebrate than oatmeal?
Love the linens! So pretty! And your oatmeal always looks so…beautiful (who would’ve thought that word would be used to describe oatmeal), but it truly does! I’m working on getting mine to look more like that…coming along slowly!
