Miss Lillian has decided she is camera shy this morning.
She was perched on dad’s lap when I came down but must have known the camera meant breakfast because that’s what she went to eat!
Fancy Feast for her and a fancy feast for me!
I layered a bowl with greek yogurt, cheerios, hot apples and strawberries and Nuttzo.
Morning cup ‘O tea
I’m already all showered up, so as soon as I finish blogging I’m going to find some healthy snacks for my ride and hit the country roads home.

I love warm apples with yogurt topped with some cinnamon, flax meal and chia seeds …even better are warmed stewed prunes! My mother would make them for us as kids in the winter for breakfast…as an adult I love them for dessert!

How fun to put hot apples on cold yogurt! I love that idea. How do you cook them? In the microwave or do you actually saute them in a pan? I definitely need to try that out next time I make a yogurt bowl. Have a safe drive back home and have a good Fat Tuesday!
My mom made them for dinner two nights ago. She sauteed them in a pan with butter and cinnamon
Breakfast looks delicious! Hope your drive back went well!

I cook up apples in my crock pot…add them to oatmeal or just top them with ffvanilla yogurt. Travel safe!
Hi, Kath! I have a question about your “country roads” since you are a southerner and may be able to help me out. About ten years ago,I went on a road trip with my sis to check out law schools that I was interested in. We started at Duke and then went to UVA and William and Mary (though I canNOT remember in what order we went to those two schools).
ANYway, on one leg of the trip we were on a beautiful road that had historic markers all along it that was part of some sort of historic or scenic drive. I believe there may have been one or two plantations along the way and perhaps the home of a Confederate General. We had no time to stop, but over the years I have LONGED to figure out where we were so that I could go back with my family and visit.
So…do you have any idea what I’m talking about? You might be my last hope!
Hmmmm…UVA to W&M was probably along I-64, which isn’t exactly a country road.
I’ve seen battlefields and the Civil War Trail on my way to Warrenton. This map might ring bells?

But if you were going to W&M and saw plantations, my guess is you were around here:

Thanks, Kath! I will check those out!
I go to W&M for graduate school right now and make that drive frequently! You were on Route 5 through Charles City. There are many plantations, large farms and bodies of water to cross. Its my favorite part of my drive home to NC!
I worked in Williamsburg while I was in college, and I used to MUCH prefer taking Route 5 to get home, rather than 64. It’s so beautiful!
safe travels!!!!
i luv that cat.
I loved plain Cheerios growing up!
