This afternoon mom and I went out walking – and found ourselves in the Towson Town Center mall again! We didn’t spend any money, but but put on plenty of perfume samples
We stumbled upon the Edenwald Friday Wine Tasting, which was more of a party than a tasting!
Full size “tastes”!!
I split one with mom
And socialized with Gram + Pop’s friends
We made our way downtown to the Johns Hopkins University campus where Pop is an alumni from the class of 1940
We have been going to dinner at the Hopkins Club since we were little kids. We used to play under the tablecloths, drink Shirley Temples and loved the sorbet that comes between the salads and entrees.
We gathered for cocktail hour first and I was happy to see some fun snacks! I just had a few of the pretzels
And I got a delicious Manhattam. Mmmmmm bourbon!
We took a family portrait for old time’s sake
Larbs’ college roomie Lizzie and her boyfriend Will met us for dinner since Lizzie is studying at Hopkins.
“Sisters, sisters”
The dining room was beautiful and elegant
Would you BELIEVE that they brought sticky buns to the table?!?!?!?
I split one with Larbs and had a small roll
My dinner came with a salad and I had one with apples and gorgonzola
Then came the famous sherbert!!
For dinner I ordered from the “Petite Appetite” list and got a stack of mushrooms and zucchini in a fig balsamic glaze.
At first I was a little sad that my dish was so small, but I really wasn’t very hungry and the portion was perfect. And with tastes of mom’s crabcake and baked potato and Spud’s veggies, it was perfect.
I also had a glass of Cab with dinner
Larbs and I couldn’t decide on desserts so we ordered two. Big mistake! (Pun intended). We were stuffed and couldn’t stop from eating all of both of them, but we agreed it put us over the top!
Apple Pie a la mode
And Chocolate Caramel Cake with ganache – my favorite food ever
Tomorrow morning I’m going running and then we leave for North Carolina, first Hillsborough then Charlotte. It’s going to be a lonnnng day of driving. Hoping I can balance chugging water with rest stops!

Man oh man that chocolate cake looks gooooood!
I have such a hard time staying hydrated while driving – my small bladder requires frequent stops, which is annoying!
I just had to comment. I’m a fan of the blog, and my apartment overlooks the Towson Town Center Mall! Such a small world. I love hearing about your adventures in this area because I only moved here about a week ago and I need suggestions on great places to eat. Enjoy your time up here!

Love those photos of you and Larbs – it makes me miss my sister! I can never keep myself from finishing a dessert – no matter how full I am

That chocolate ganache cake looks to-die-for!! It’s so dangerous for me to read blogs in the middle of the day…. it makes me want to bake nonstop!

Haha, don’t you hate when you know how full you’re going to be but you just can’t stop because it’s too delicious??
