Don&#039;t worry about a fat burning zone. What&#039;s more important is that you are burning the most calories you can in a time period. Consider this:

You exercise for 30 minutes at your fat burning zone and burn 300 calories, 50% of which is fat. 

You exercise for 30 minutes at a higher intensity and burn 500 calories at 40% fat. 

Even though the percent is lower it the second case, it&#039;s calories burned that matter&#039;s most. Because oxygen consumption and heart rate are correlated with calorie burn, you want to have a higher HR.
