Look what was being passed around our Chem Lab room!! I always allow myself a little bit of sugary goodness around Halloween + Valentines. I have been wanting to buy candy corn but just can’t rationalize a whole bag, so this was perfect to get my yearly fix
Lunch held me over superbly today!! I didn’t really need a snack until around 5:00 the UPS man arrived with THIS!!!
They are from JUSTY!!!!!!!!!!! Way to extend the birthday week onward
Thanks so much Justy – you’re my hero!! Of course I had to dig in right away and give ‘em both a taste. The Honey Cinnamon is sooo good. It’s got a deep roasted cinnanamony taste that is going to be so good on apples!
I was really busy catching up on life before dinner and finally made a mocktail when I got up to get started. Not the best choice considering it’s freezing in here!
For dinner we made a lovely angel hair pasta dish using leftover bean-tomato bruschetta from the Oktoberfest. I also thawed and mixed in my new favorite food: frozen chopped spinach. So easy, so tasty!
Plus parmesan and red pepper flakes –
And sides of bread on the new plates!! His and hers.
And I ended the night with some Quaker nibbles –
I am off to ……. you guessed it…. take a bubble bath! I’m so addicted right now, but I’m sure it’ll get old. I am going to study my Micro flashcards. I feel like that’s the only way I can make myself study. Then I’m getting in bed to READ! I have really been enjoying the whole “winding down” routine of bath + reading. It’s definitely made my life more peaceful and serene.

Hey Kath- just wondering what your ‘thawing out’ process involves with the spinach? Do you drain it or dry it out somehow before you used it? Did you cook it or just mix it in? I always fiill and even when I drain it with a strainer it is soaked mess!
Happy 4 days til Friday
That pasta looks fabulous – angel hair is my favorite!
What do you put in your mocktail? I don’t really like many alcoholic drinks, but I love something fancier and healthier than soda!
oops, I meant I always strain mine but even when I do it is a soppy mess!
Hooray for PB from Justy!!!
Yay for bubble baths! We’re having pasta tonight too
I’m excited. And I can’t wait for halloween. A bubble bath sounds like a FABULOUS idea.
bubble baths are kind of a huge waste of water
i always feel guilty taking them so i try and keep it to a couple times a year thing.
Awesome looking dinner! And PB!
Kath- Can you list the ingredients and nutritional facts for the nut butters. Im interested and its not on the website. How was the Butter Toffee?
hahah sounds like fun…i don’t like peanut butter, but it’s nice to see that someone has a lotta love for it! btw, i just figured that i ran my 5k on sunday the 19th in 26:24 min! a nice birthday present for you i think! (26? =D)
Nice PB! I wish we had some fancy PB’s up here in the Great White North. I do love my regular PB, but how can you go wrong with anything Butter Toffee?!
I love candy corn!
I’m a little late with this, but Happy Birthday! Glad you had a good one
The other day I purchased a bad of the candy corn/pumpkins candy mix just for 8 peices. I grabbed my 8 and threw the rest out…..it was sad but I have ZERO control with candy corn.
Hi! I’m new here but I’ve been reading your blog for quite a while.
That pasta dish looks AMAZING!
Those PBs look amazing, especially the butter toffee one.
Dinner looks amazing as always.
Enjoy your bath and reading!
holy! that PB looks sooooo good! i would be sitting on the couch with DWTS and a jar of the Cinnamon one.. instead i think i should stick with my tea.. lol
Yay, you got your birthday present!
I was hoping they’d arrive before your big day, but I guess it helps to keep the birthday spirit alive! I thought the cinnamon one sounded really good, so I’m glad it is! Plus I figured the husband might stay out of it since he’s not a big cinnamon fan
Enjoy your bubble bath!
AHHHHH! BUTTER TOFFEE PB! i searched high and low for it at whole foods AND southern season, but it was nowhere to be found.
enjoy!
a bubble bath sounds awesome. we were just thinking about how much it would improve our lives if we had a hot tub. someday . . .!
That peanut butter looks amazing. Justy, where in the world did you get those things?
I wonder if you eat the candy corn in sections by color.
Dinner looks fabulous!!! And those new plates are so colorful, I love them!!!!!
Hil-
I ordered them from the company’s website (Naturally Nutty). I don’t think they’re in stores…and unfortunately shipping for them isn’t too cheap.
any idea where i could get those PB’s from???

Kath, All I can say is six words….
That pasta looks so friggin’ good!
zesty
Peanut butter in the mail! Yippeee.
Kath – thanks for the help with my kale this afternoon – it was delish!! My husband still doesn’t like kale, but now that I have started liking it so much, I’ll eat what we get in the CSA next year by myself! He doesn’t like the chewiness – can you believe it?! That’s my favorite part!
A delivery of PB?? How nice!
Hope you enjoy your relaxing night!
dinner looks great! I love bubble baths- they keep me sane and help me sleep! haha
BTW…If you’re interested, the website for the Peanut butter is Naturallynutty.com. I just ordered some for myself:)
That looks really good Kath!
Love spinach!
hey Kath, i had 2 questions in my comment last night, but i guess you missed them…
1– is a marathon (26!) in your future?
2– where were you all planning to go hiking?!
Ooooh, you got some honey cinnamon roasted peanut butter from Naturally Nutty! How is it compared to the butter toffee? I’m still hooked on the butter toffee flavor, but which reigns supreme?!
sorry to be so late (I was out of town), but I wanted to wish you a happy 26th! You b-day festivities looked fantastic.
ooh cool looking peanut butter! i LOVE candy corn =P
Angie ,
I put the spinach in a bowl and microwaved it for a few minutes until hot. There wasn’t much water, but if there had been I would have just squeezed it out and then added it.
amy jo,
It was diet tonic (not exactly “healthy”) and cherries (not really either!) but I enjoy them and they’re light on the calories. You could make it more natural with club soda and citrus.
Fig,
All of that info is on Naturallynutty.com in the store when you click on a specific flavor:

Tracy ,
26 minutes – awesome!!!!! Thanks for making the effort JUST FOR MEEEE!
Trojan ,
You should have given it away! I love the pumpkins too – they have more “meat.”
Shannon ,
Welcome!
Justy2003 ,
Good reasoning with the husband!!! Thanks again
Erin ,
I have done that before, but this time they just got popped in one after another.
Fig ,
Checking out the pumpkin PB….
Julie L,
Glad you liked it!! You could cook it a little longer to reduce that nice chew so your hubby would like it more. Or make kale chips!
jenner ,
No marathons for me. With my history of foot problems, I just think I’d do more overall harm than good. Maybe I’ll just move into 6.2 10K’s instead. Guess the running industry loves 26!
Nick ,
Definitely just as good – with less butter, more cinnamon and the same thick sweet taste.
Kath
Candy corn is awesome.
And I am very jealous of those pb jars. The flavours sound AWESOME.
I have that pencil, it is my fav
That pasta looks fab!
PB and cinnamon?? That sounds amazing! I may try ti make my own version of that. I made my own PB on Sunday (featured on my blog) and it came out so great that I might just start trying to fiddle with the different added flavors myself!!
Do you know what the website is for Naturally Nutty? Or where they sell their PB?
I am so glad that I don’t like candy corn. Mini Reese’s cups, on the other hand…
Cinnamon and peanut butter together? My two favorite flavors ever!
Love the his and hers pics! I always think pictures like that look so cute.
Hi Kath: I was catching up on your blog today and noticed the Naturally Nutty peanut butter. Thought I’d check it out – the vanilla ones don’t seem to have added sugar. Anyway – I contacted the company and referred them to your site since that’s where I found out about their product. They have a good story on how they got started and where they’re going: soon to be certified Organic. So – thanks for the info.
I started my own blog and would like to add http://www.katheats.com as a link. May I do this? Please check my blog to make sure you are comfortable with it. Good luck with your studies and best of luck to your husband and his new job.
