There is only one person who will have me bounding out of bed at 5:30 in the morning: Tanner!! And the promise of a killer yoga class. And three awesome girlfriends to do it with!
My last class was awesome. All the usual: music, poses, exhaustion, Tanner‘s guidance. Going to miss this place so much!
At the end of savasana I got a little water therapy – freezing cold lavender water from the eye towels poured onto my belly button. It was soooooo weird – almost magnetic!?! Reminded me of the acupuncture I had recently. So cool that something so mundane as water could have such a magical effect in a different time and place.
Here is me describing it -
The towel!? That’s just how he is!
Coconut water fueled me through the class. Magic, yo!
Had a sparkly walk home as well. I LOVE walking home from yoga. Such a great way to unwind.
Once home – OIAJ!! Matt is here and made them for me. What a fun surprise!
The Mix
- 1/3 cup oats, milk, water, pinch salt
- Half banana
- Crumbled apple muffin (that had all-but-fermented!)
- Blackberries galore
I miss my iced tea spoons ;(
Coffee steam – magic.
Here’s a little magic for you…
OpenSky scored us a great deal (and by us I mean that I’ll be doing this too!). With every purchase in the KERF shop, you get a FREE Restaurant.com gift certificate worth $25!! So pretty much if you buy something you’ve been wanting, you get a dinner out for free. Totally a great deal!! My dad got us a few Restaurant.com coupons in the past and they’re just like a gift certificate.
OpenSky will be emailing coupons out following a purchase within 1 business day.
Karen [my mother-in-law, who we have been living with] is having carpel tunnel surgery today so I’ll be busy tending to her and taking her to the medical center. Matt will be packing up our car! Going to pack a sandwich to take with me. See you later this afternoon!

Love yoga.
I did 3 hours of yoga just this weekend. I felt GLORIOUS.
I think everyone should do yoga, honestly.
Whoa – I hope he has shorts on under that towel!!! Hope that your mother-in-law’s surgery goes okay and a speedy recovery to her.
Is that Tanner? My….his arms explain why you are willing to get up at 5.30am for yoga
!
and I hope Karen’s surgery goes ok
Have a good day
Yep!
Oh, going to Opensky right now to look for a birthday present for my Father
Thanks Kath!
LOVE Tanner – the class looks amazing, I wish I could join you girls
p.s. thinking of your MIL

The whole water therapy thing is really intriguing to me. I would love to try that after yoga.
So Tanner and I look quite similar…. oats are looking great in that jar. Good luck to Karen on the surgery!

Those bowls are so nice.
You all look nice…energetic, wow.
Good luck to your MIL.
Not to be awkward, but you look AMAZING! So fit and lean
Good luck to Karen today!!!!!!
Good luck to Karen! She’s in my thoughts and prayers.
How sad that it’s your last class– I hope you find a studio you like as much in Charlottesville!
Hope Karen’s surgery goes well!!
I hope the surgery goes well and that the car is packed sufficiently.
You do look sparkly in that pic on your way home from yoga. It sounds like such a relaxing morning (but intense from the yoga!).
Once again I invite you and Matt to move to MN — I’d be happy to go to yoga or to run with you every morning! :0
Love that photo of you after your yoga class – you’re just glowing! I haven’t been to a yoga class in years, but I think you’ve convinced me to go again.
That lavender water thing sounds so interesting! and aww those pictures are great!
Lavendar water in the belly button… innerestin’! Could this be the newest health craze?
You look so … WELL, everytime you take picture of yourself after yoga. Relax, flushed, pretty
Makes me want to try it!
You look amazingly radiant! I love how healthy and happy you look. I hope your mother-in-law’s surgery goes well!
Wei Wei
what a lovely way to start off the morning!
Best of luck to your MIL on her surgery, hope everything goes well!
Walks are so great after a good workout, I couldn’t agree with you more.
Love that pic of you on your walk home…you look radiant!
Goodluck to Karen with her surgery, that can’t be fun.
You epitomize “healthy” Kath! I LOVE that post-yoga photo of you and Tanner!
re. Open Sky buddha bowls bundle – would you consider offering a single bowl as an option? I’ve been coveting one for a while (but not two @ $42 plus shipping.)
Thanks!
I’ve asked numerous times, but the artisan who makes them only sells them in twos. Maybe you could find a friend to split a bundle?
I thought that might the case, Kath, but just wanted to put the bug in your ear (again)that it might make good business sense, as I suspect there are others who feel as I do. I’ll ponder your suggestion.
In any event, I am soooo enjoying the Environtote that I purchased from your store months ago. Every week, inevitably, someone will stop me while shopping at my local farmer’s market to inquire about it and marvel at how smartly made that bag is – so convenient and sharp looking!
All my best to your mother-in-law.
I think it would make good biz sense too, but I don’t get to make all the decisions.
Glad the Envitote is rockin’ it!
Sounds like an awesome class! So lucky to have a hubby who has OIAJ waiting for you!
Hey girl! Love the yoga pics… tanner is a cutie
lol…
I would totally buy something from your shop..but opensky STILL have not jumped on the ship to Canada bandwagon. Major bummer!
I think they DO ship to Canada!!!!!!!! I looked it up for someone else yesterday!!??
hmm..a few weeks ago Jonathon (sp) of opensky told me they did not yet ship to canada (i am opening my shop in a few wks and practically begged for Canadian shipping because most of my readers are in canada..and so am I! lol) If they have changed it in the past few weeks..then I am going to be a very happy camper! I will check it out!
That truly is a magical morning! I would love to attend that class.
oh my goodness, he looks like a wonderful yoga instructor! you gotta love little quirks like the towel
Kath,
That is so sweet of your hubs to fix you a delish breakfast, you are one lucky gal!
Y2 will miss you! By the way I started my own dinky food blog, totally inspired by you and Emily! Thanks so much for the food guidance, you are such a wonderful inspiration…I recommend your blog to all of my friends and they love love love it! Good luck to your mother in law today.
Sarah
hey Sarah!!!! So sad I didn’t get to come to another of your classes. Life has been a bit crazy!! Hope you’ll come visit me in Charlottesville sometime
I bought coconut water for the first time this weekend! It was on sale at my local health food store. Haven’t tried it out yet, but I know I have it when I think I’m going to need it!
I need to hop on this coconut water train. Looks like a good morning. Matt is nice to have had breakfast prepared for you when you got home. You two are too cute!
looks like you had a good work out.
Sounds like an awesome morning! How sweet that Matt made you oats
I need to try a yoga class. You’ve inspired me.
Coconut water is such a great idea for hot yoga! – I will have to try it. I’m doing my first hot yoga class today after not doing it for almost a year!!! Nervous/Excited!
Dude, your yoga instructor is kind of a hunk! In all serious though, glad your last class in the studio was a great one. Also, this post has motivated me to take advantage of the coupon I have for a local yoga class.
Here’s hoping your MIL has a speedy and safe recovery from surgery!
Praying that everything goes well with Karen’s surgery.
And glad you got to enjoy yoga one more time.
Wish Tanner was MY yoga instructor. Ah well. I have yet to find an instructor I really love.
I’ve been wanting to try yoga. You look so glowing in that picture of you walking back.
Hey Kath! This is an awesome blog. My friend Jenni and I have followed it ever since my sister (who also has a blog) introduced us to it. Jenni and I are going to be 3rd years at UVa this year and we’re both on the cross country/track teams (so we love to read about your running too). We are really into the local food scene and were very excited to hear about you and Great Harvest coming to Charlottesville :] We’d love to come in and meet you/check out your new store as soon as we’re back in Cville permanently!!
Hey Laurel! I’d love to be friend with you and Jenni
Let me know when you get back to school and we’ll play!
i’d go to yoga too if tanner was my instructor
good luck to your MIL!
ha ha – love his towel!!!
What a great deal! I might have to round up some money for this one!
Oh man, I would leap out of bed in order to see Tanner in the morning!
What a good morning. Matt is so good to prepare breakfast for you whilst you were out, what a sweetie!
Hi Kath! I have been reading your blog for awhile and love it!
I just ordered the Garlic Gold bundle from your OpenSky shop and can’t wait to try it – what a great deal with the free gift certificate! I wanted to order the Naturally Nutty cinnamon vanilla sunflower butter too but they were out of stock. Hopefully they will restock soon because it looks delicious and I would love to purchase it from your shop. Btw…I hope your mother-in-law’s surgery went well today – it was sweet of you to be there for her!
You will love the Garlic Gold! The CVSB is on hold for a while
Sounds like an amazing class. Glad the ladies were there to join you.
I have to check out the KERF shop – who doesn’t like a great deal?!
-Erika
Ladies, I can’t be the *only* one that sees that Tanner has a start on a b0n3r!
Good luck to Karen! And wow, Tanner is hot
So glad you talked me into going to yoga this morning. I was in an awesome mood all day, even though I was a little sleepy from waking up so early. lol
How long is that offer running from OpenSky?
Never mind! I just read your post for this morning and it said the end of July!
