*Squeals with delight for the millionth time today*
Remember the day when I discovered Windows Life Writer and my blogging quality of life improved 110%!? It has happened again with a new blogging tool: an Eye-Fi wireless memory card.
I ordered this card with my new camera and spent the afternoon figuring it out. OH MY GOSH – it works!! Just like the website says! Do you know how much time this will save me from having to get out my USB cord and import and organize photos? Hours. I am so excited. (Check out the website for all the info – sadly this doesn’t work on Sony cameras, another good reason why I needed an upgrade) but it should work on most all others with an SD memory card. I came home tonight and my photos were uploaded to my computer before I sat down. Worth every penny of the $70 cost.
I was pretty hungry for a snack between 5 and 6 but I was so busy working on the Eye-Fi connection that I didn’t have time to eat. So I just went straight to dinner.
And ordered a Blue Moon
I only ended up drinking 3/4 of it because I was feeling pretty tipsy and dinner came and then I figured I didn’t really need the rest. (While I could have easily slammed it down, I was trying to be a conscious eater).
I also chose the veggie burger tonight in an effort to eat a little lighter. And got in on top of a salad instead of a bun. Actually, this was an excellent veggie burger! Sometimes they aren’t that great in restaurants (and sometimes they’re very greasy) but this one was full of mushrooms and rice – and was very tasty. Other toppings included grilled pineapple, tomato, carrots and pickles.
I got it topped with Gruyere, which I should have either left off or traded for a strong cheese like blue because I don’t even remember tasting it!
We got a basket of mixed fries to go with dinner. You guys know I love sweet potato fries.
I put some on my plate to portion them out –
The husband ordered a juicy burger – rare! Just how we like ‘em
I had two bites of his.
Andrew and the husband split a peanut butter milkshake for dessert, and I had about four spoonfuls.
I am impressed with the new camera’s quality, but it’s not as consistent as my Sony. Some of the photos, like this bite of burger, came out pretty blurry. It seems you have to have the perfect conditions with no hand shakes to get a good one. Not the best thing for someone photographing from all angles and positions, but time will tell.
I’m off to answer> some emails, take a bath (if I don’t take too long on email) and read The Blue Bistro in bed. Hopefully I’m extra tired and will fall asleep on time tonight! The husband is exhausted – he’s already in bed.
G’night!

I hear you– I’m pretty sure we have the same camera, and I CONSTANTLY have the blurry problem, unless I play around with the settings.
Counter looks pretty good– we have one here in Chicago and I’d like to go there eventually!
Dinner looks awesome! I love the veggie burger on a salad. And those fries look divine!
Glad you liked the veggie burger!! And hell yes for sweet potato fries and a PB milkshake
Wow that dinner looks so good! I also love sweet potato fries!

I have a “dumb” question about the yoga downloads. How do you save them once you download them? I downloaded one tonight with the slides and I wasn’t sure how to keep it once I was down with it. Any advice would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks
Oh She Glows,
$70 – worth every cent.
JSR,
You should be able to right click on the them and download to your desktop where you can access it forever.

I read the Blue Bistro last year! It’s a really nice, light read, but some parts were so sad! It’s meant to be more of a love story, but there’s tons of restaurant-style meal plans and food descriptions, which you’ll obviously love.
The new camera also looks awesome!
That card sounds great
Dinner looks sooo good… You picked a yummy meal!
Those sweet potato fries look so yummy!
Glad you are enjoying the new card!
Hooray for awesome gadgets!
Very happy to hear that you enjoyed the veggie burger! Sweet potato fries!!!! Yum!
I have the same camera! Yeah, the blurriness happens a lot, so I just take a bunch of pictures so I can get at least one good one!
I’ll have to remember the pineapple on veggie burger topping!
those are some mighty burgers, and two kinds of fries???nice.
That card looks interesting – I’ve never seen them before. Does your computer not have a card reader you can just pop the cards straight into? That’s what I have on my computer, and it’s super fast to upload photos – no need for cords or anything.
Kath, the pictures really look good! I am so happy for you… cool little tool.
zesty
wow, that card sounds fantastic!! and pb milkshake? ooh…
Sweet potato fries YUM!
Oh my heckengolly! I just got back from the gym and I swear I saw you in the October 2008 SHAPE magazine. I’m sure it’s old news to everyone else, but can you imagine how surprised and excited I was?! You were/are already a star to me, but now you truly are of celebrity status! I felt like Will Ferrell in ELF, “I KNOW HER!!!”
Kath,
I have been reading your blog a long time. I admire how dedicated you are to working out and maintaining a gym schedule and it has been very inspiring. I have a problem and was wondering if you could recommend a solution. I have recently gained a few pounds that I would like to lose, as well as generally get healthier. But, I don’t know how to fit in cardio. I have lots of resistance and strength training equipment at home, but I know that’s not enough. I have researched the prices of the gyms in my area but I can’t afford a membership. My university has a gym that is free to students, but it’s always crowded and you have to reserve machines and can only stay for 30 minutes so it’s a real pain. Do you have any (cheap!) recommendations for getting cardio?
Thank you!
I love the veggie burger/pineapple combo!
All your eats look great – glad about your new tool – I’ll have to check that out!
wow! I can’t keep up
The memory card sounds AMAZINGLY useful… but I am mostly still thinking about those sweet potato fries – darn it!
Ooh, I love the counter. I always want to try their sweet potato fries, but I never have! I like to do the burger “bowl” as well. And I aaalso love Blue Moon. Sounds reaaal good right about now. You and your husband are adorable.
hey girl! it was fun to catch up on your blog. i missed reading it by honeymooning!!
The pencil drawing is hilarious!
Will definately get the eye-fi card! I squealed myself! Thanks!
Blue moon
That veggie burger is one of the best I’ve seen and pineapple?! Yum!
That memory card is pretty much awesome. I want it!
I need that wireless memory card! One of the things I hate the most about importing pictures is sticking the cord into the little pocket on the camera. So annoying! I think this is next on my to-buy list!!
I never get veggie burgers because they have onions. Have you found a brand that doesn’t have any or do you not mind the onion taste in a veggie burger?
The Counter! I love The Counter, I’m curious though, why don’t you mention that you went out to eat at The Counter? The customization options for the burgers there are incredible, definitely blog worthy in my opinion! Glad you enjoyed it!
I’ve never heard of a wireless memory card!! now I want one!
thank you so much for sharing the eye-fi link!!! that is so cool!!
Sarah (lovINmytummy),
Haha – yep, that was me! Here are my thoughts on the story, which I wasn’t that thrilled with:

Courtney ,
Are you able to run outside? If so, I’d recommend a combo of outdoor exercise and using your free university gym. Could you try going at another time of day? 5am!?!? My college gym was always slammed around 10am and 5pm but it was empty earlier in the AM and around lunchtime. 30 minutes of cardio is still 30 minutes of cardio! And never underestimate the value of a brisk walk outside. Good luck!
Elina ,
You hate them too!? I don’t like Boca burgers b/c of the onions/onion powder. I think I like the MorningStar veggie ones. I had one this summer at a picnic and even though there were onions, I couldn’t taste them. I just haven’t seen them in stores to try them out. I didn’t like Sunshine burgers b/c of onions either. I wish some grocery store would do a sampling so I wouldn’t have to buy the box to find out!
Scott ,
Oh sorry – I mentioned in my my lunch post so I forgot at dinner!
Kath
Hi Kath,
I have a Mac so I can’t use the Windows software
, but you really got my attention when you said “drag and drop pics” to already specified sizes. Whoa, that would save some time!!
Also, I wanted to tell you that my husband, Ryan, just posted part 1 of his weight loss story on our blog. I read your husband’s story a while back, and every time I see him make appearances in your blog (the gong) I think to myself, “Wow, its like Ryan has a twin.”
Ha.
If you/he wants to check out part 1 of the story, here is the link: http://livewell360.com/2009/01/my-story-fatboy-slim-part-1/
PS I love sweet potato fries too. YUM. Have a great day!

I think there is a blogging program like WLW for Macs – Echo maybe? You should definitely look into it – it’s really saved my life.
I’ll check out your husband’s story!
Kath
I love the Counter. We have one here in Chicago as well, and I’m such a big fan of their customizable menu and the fact that they use such good ingredients!
The sweet potato fries look great! I was just talking about them yesterday with my friend too! I have not had them in forever. I’ll take that milkshake as well
http://www.missymaintains.blogspot.com
Oh, how I love sweet potato fries, too! I make my own oven-baked sweet potato fries at home and serve them with a homemade chipotle cilantro mayo. YUM.
I tried Blue Moon the other night and it was sooo good.
Have you tried messing around with the settings? Switch it to the macro setting for the extreme close ups. I have an SD750, you just have to mess around with the settings and take a few pictures to see if you got it right.
Whoops, MICRO. Not macro.
Rachel Lauren,
Yes, I always, always use Micro!!! I need to learn more about ISO and the face auto focus and what not. Need to read the manual!
K
Sorry, I guess I missed it in your lunch post! Love the Counter!
