My oh my it’s been a little crazy around here. I’ve been working all morning and have yet to start my most important task of the day!!
Well, you guys are my most important task, but my second writing project needs my attention!
I played delivery woman this morning and took bread to Relay and picked up emergency tomatoes for Matt. It was FUN to drive around Cville in my car!! I saw so much of our bustling town – I should do that more often!
While at Great Harvest at 1pm I had a fresh slice of Cville Crunch..and then came home for lunch
Saladworks –
Lettuce, cucumber, pepper, avocado, pepperjack cheese, 4 leftover cubes of tofu with olive oil and lavender salt for dressing
And a bowl of peach + yogurt + Warrior Crunch
Got my bread fix in as an appetizer!
Attempting to focus in 654321..

Good luck getting your article written soon! As always your eats look delish.
I do miss chomping on warm fresh slabs of Cville cluster
Good luck on your to do list! I’m sure you’ll tackle it all since your lunch fuel looks so Good!:)
haha yes driving does seem awfully quick and easy when you bike so much!
Where do you find lavender salt? It sounds delicious.
San Fran farmer’s market
Hm, I guess I’ll have to make some then.
Mmm! I was snacking on Warrior Crunch over some cottage cheese as I was reading
Good luck being productive, Kath!
Mmm at that bowl of peach, yog, and granola- such a refreshing end to a meal!
Love that first picture!
There are not enough hours in the day!!!!! I adore your silverware. It is incredibly charming
Eating with beautiful silverware outa fun bowls just makes the experience so much better
Yummy salad! I love seeing the city from the car sometimes- the view is so different!
Love love the Salad.
I blogged about you here
http://www.workingmomjournal.com/on-cooking-good-food-easy/
LOVE that spoon! I just got a similar looking set of antique silver spoons from my Mom. Very pretty.
I would turn into a bread-eatin monster if I owned my own bakery. Mucho respect to you for your will-power, lady!!
I really want to see Charlottesville now myself!!
I kind of wish Emergency Tomatoes was the name of this post. I don’t know why but that made me laugh!
Good luck! I hate when it’s crazy busy and you NEED to accomplish something, it’s the worst!
PS – DYING over that first picture. It’s awesome!!
Kath! We are so excited that Great Harvest Bread is up on our site! Definitely want to write a blog post about YOU (and Matt and GH) soon!
Just had to say … that spoon is so cute!
i love driving around in my car. i guess it’s a good thing i live in LA
Actually driving around town rather than biking or walking…novel concept, eh?
The salad looks great but the peaches + yogurt REALLY look great!
I’ve never heard of lavendar salt before. That sounds really interesting and like it would taste great on roasted veggies.
Good luck with the article Kath! Looks like lunch was great fuel to get you going!
I had peaches and yogurt with some granola just a little bit ago too… ahh I LOVE peaches, and they’re so in season right now! Yay!
I am loving peaches right now too they are just sooooo juicy and flavorful!
I could eat warrior crunch on anything…. although I’ve only been eating it by the handful recently!
You must be busy! I can imagine delivering for Relay would mean a whole lot more bread making. At least you’ve got good food to fuel you through
Focus, Focus, Focus!! That’ll be me tonight. Packing, Packing, Packing!
Hope you are having better luck focusing then I am!
I love driving around on nice days to run errands! I feel like a productive member of society! Haha, and playing music and the wind blowing through the windows doesn’t hurt either! Too bad I don’t have a car in Chicago…
Hey Kath! I was wondering if you will sell your delicious granola again any time soon? I missed the sale last time and I don’t want to miss it next time!! Thanks so much!
Unfortunately the last order completely burnt us out – 700 bags and matt is still stressed! We will do it again, but probably not anytime soon
So sorry the order burned you guys out! But those of us lucky enough to get in on the deal sure do appreciate it!
It sounds like maybe if there is some way to cut off the orders at a much smaller number that would be better for your peace of mind. But I’m sure it’s hard to find the balance between having enough orders to make it worthwhile and having too many to handle comfortably.
By the way, any estimate on when we should be receiving the yummy granola packages? I haven’t seen any e-mails that it had been shipped yet. But I know you guys sent the granola off days ago…
The bigger order was more efficient, but the small – easier to manage. It’s hard to tell!
We shipped it out about a week ago, so I’d imagine OpenSky shipped it this week – so hopefully any day now!
Good luck focusing! After a busy day, I’m always out of focus by 2pm!
Emergency tomatoes! STAT! That makes me laugh- owning that bakery must be an adventure.
does lavendar salt taste any different than regular salt? I have pink himalayan sea salt, and while I like the texture it doesnt taste THAT different to me
Yes, it’s very different. Very lavendery!
Love pepperjack cheese! It’s great in salads and sandwiches!
Mmmmm…that salad looks delicious! And I bet the addition of lavender salt makes it! Have a great evening, Kath!
Go get e’m!! Your salad looks delish, btw!
Sending you happy productive writing vibes!!!
Love the first photo – so nice! I am a big fan of antique tea-towels and antique silverware and that first photo is fabulous. I love looking at your photography – it’s very inspiring
That looks so delicious, Kath!
Your salad looks so delish! Cucumbers are always so refreshing <3
Love that spoon! It's so antique and vintage-y!
It would be fun to get out of the bakery and do some running around like that!
I would love to try lavender salt! Did you find it at the ferry building farmer’s market?
Yes, but behind the building in a little cart/vendor
I want to break bread (fresh bread) for appetizers at work!!
That is the cutest spoon I have ever seen! (I know this is WAAYYY off topic but whatever!)
sometimes I do all the low hanging fruit first and totally procrastinate the biggest projects too. It’s so hard to start them but once I get going the motivation magically appears
I adorrre that spoon.
I like the cross-stitched tablecloth–the blue is pretty! I used to like to cross-stitch when I was younger when I took a Home Economics class in high school.

have fun with second-most-important writing project! if i can’t concentrate, i usually can’t force it. i’ll go walk around for 5 minutes and find something to clear my mind…
I pretty much biked everywhere over the summer- I love it, but sometimes it’s really nice to get in the car and get somewhere really quickly! It would probably be more pleasant if my car had AC though
That spoon is so bowl-like, I love it!
Your posts really have me on a salad kick lately, Kath. I’m loving it!
Does lavender salt taste much different from iodized, sea, or kosher?
Yeah, this one is really strong and lavendery
Must be “leftover tofu on salad for lunch day”…’cause that’s what I had too! Mine was marinated in soy sauce and scriacha…so a nice saltiness to it!
Your photography is stunning as always
Bring GH to Ohio please!
Your crazy delicious pictures of bread have me hankering for some like nobody’s buisiness. Since there is not a local Great Harvest (or even a good bakery for that matter) do you have any tips for making good, whole grain bread at home?
I’m really not a baker, but on my Recipes page I have some of Matt’s old recipes
the peaches and yogurt look amazing! yum, i am making tonight with my fresh peaches! thanks for the idea!
I love that first picture! Happy Birthday to Karen (since it is that day)!
