There’s always a party going on here! This afternoon/evening, Gram hosted about 40 of her friends to welcome us to Towson.
The table was set with appetizers and the bar was fully stocked
Club Soda + cherries for me
I had tastes of everything, but didn’t have too much since we were headed to dinner afterwards
Pop was there in spirit
Upon my request for crabcakes, we headed to the Peppermill for dinner
Rolls got us thinking about what to order
And I had more club soda, but the Manhattans sitting next to me kept my nose happy with wafts of wonderful bourbon.
I didn’t need to crack open the menu – I ordered what I always get!
Starter salad, which comes with the entrée
And two broiled crabcakes!
Plus a side of applesauce as the “vegetable”
The Peppermint Peppermill is famous for its desserts, all made in house. Mom, Larbs and I shared a bread pudding and a banana crème pie. I couldn’t fit too much – these were huuuuge!
This afternoon I put my feet up in this king size bed and instantly fell asleep. I absolutely cannot wait to climb back in!!

OH MY! Those crab cakes look AMAZING!!!
Those crabcakes look AMAZING! I love it when there’s real chunks of delicious crab instead of yucky filler and other stuff!
Everything looks so delicious!
Mmm those crabcakes look delicious! I am big seafood fan! Thats awesome that they offer them broiled instead of fried!!
whoa baby..give me some of that dessert
Now those are real crabcakes!!! The desserts look amazing!!! What fun!!!
That dessert looks amazing!! I’m drooling…I think I’m going to top a rice cake with peanut butter and chocolate chips and pretend it looks that good!
Love applesauce – especially when it counts as a vegetable! Your dinner looks delicious, but what caught my eye most (aside from your beautiful grandmother!) was the lox, cream cheese and capers spread, YUM! Where is this restaurant?
Is that blue cheese on your salad? Do you know if it was pasteurized!?
Yes, I asked
A club soda plus cherries sounds really good!

looks like a great party! I’ll probably be in the same boat – craving a nice comfy bed – after our festivities tomorrow. my big brother is getting married! hopefully there will be great food and laughs there, too.
I love how you love your grandma and take the time to go there – what a great family you are – and of course your grandfather was there with you – not a doubt in my mind – enjoy your time together
Wow, 40 people! That’s definitely a crowd! Looks like a very fun night
Ahh have fun down there! I’m going to be down in Baltimore tomorrow eating crabcakes…at my wedding tasting, ahh! (Both my fiance and I went to school in Bmore, so we’re getting married down there…although I just realized that Bmore must be UP from you!)
Good food and family – nothing beats it! Ahh a hotel king size bed sounds amazing right about now!!
Bleu cheese and crabcakes are basically married in mind, with divorce not listed as a viable option
Never would have thought to pair applesauce and crab cakes but Ill take it!
oh my gosh, the pie and ice cream is HUGE!!
It’s hard not to be able to drink at parties like this, but it all pays off in the end!
I agree, I’ve never seen such a generous serving of ice cream on a dessert before!
the bread pudding, the pie, the imitation-looking Shirley Temple, crabcakes…yes, great food post!
Glad you had a nice day with your family, Kath
Dear Kath,

Can you tell me what camera you are using – your pictures are great!
Thanks David! I have a Canon Rebel XSI and use a Canon 35 mm f/2 lens

Simply looking at the pictures make me hungry. Those crab cakes must be really delicious. Your post is mouth-watering!
Going to The Peppermill tonight. So good! And you got exactly what I always get except for the applesauce.
Oh fun!! With family? Would have been fun to be there together!
Yes! We’ve been going there my whole life.
I always get the salad, Crabcake, and baked potato. So good!
Enjoy your time in Towson.
Fun!! Us too
Peppermill sounds like a lovely place to dine. Those crab cakes look good but, in my opinion, the desserts were the real show-stopper. Bread pudding a la mode – mmmmmm!
Love the little statue of your Grandpop!
Wow, looks at those desserts!! Those crabcakes looks awesome too!
