June 10, 2012

This weekend has been such a pleasure. I have had so many great conversations with so many great people.

I’ve talked about the blogging business, from advertising to brand relations to the future of our industry.

I’ve chatted with so many women about pregnancy and motherhood.

And I’ve just met so many people, big [huge!] blogs and new blogs alike.

This afternoon I did no talking – just a 30 minute nap and a lot of relaxing. Totally necessary.

Then I met up in the party suite of Amie Valpone. She has not stopping hosting since the weekend began! And she will not stop feeding me these cookies!!

After my cookies and milk cocktail hour, we boarded the buses to take us to the closing party tonight. Stunning venue!!

I had the opportunity to continue my conversations with the three hosts of the evening

Elise @ Simply Recipes

Jaden @ Steamy Kitchen

And Ree @ The Pioneer Woman

Three very inspiring women!

I mingled with Tina, Emily, Lacey, Monica, Heather and Gina, and finally met up with Jenna as well! Said hi to Catherine and Joy and Tracy and Jessica. It was a blogger-packed night.

Food-wise, I said hello to some of each of the above

Loved on that orange crunchy cheese!

The evening ended with a few raffles (I did not win : ( )

Before a few of us headed home for bed.

The hotel has turn-down service and I love that someone placed my eye mask right on my bed for me. A true invitation to slumber!

Is there a list of the blogs of the people who attended? I enjoy your blog, maybe there is another out there too? (for when you’re on mat leave and I’m going through fodd photo withdrawal lol)

I wish I could have gone to BlogHer Food this year! Sounds like it was a blast – the masa cakes on that menu must have been amazing!

I love that place, so rustic…
you said “The hotel has turn-down service and I love that someone placed my eye mask right on my bed for me. A true invitation to slumber!” That would actually creep me out! I hope I don’t get those types of “service” if I go to a hotel, leave my bed made up, I will turn down the bed myself… LOL

Events like Blogher Food make me want to be a food blogger. Looks like so much fun!

9 Courtney @ Outrunning Insecurities June 10, 2012 at 6:04 am

Wow, I didn’t image Ree Drummond to be so tall. It sounds like your having tons of fun, I hope someday I get to go to something like this. Enjoy your rest :)

10 KathEats June 10, 2012 at 9:00 am

She had on mega heels, I was in flats, but she is tall!

11 Lindsay June 10, 2012 at 6:16 am

What a gorgeous venue and amazing conference;) I hope to attend one someday, I am one of those wee blogs, but would enjoy meeting fellow-blogminds! How do you find out about such gatherings?

12 KathEats June 10, 2012 at 9:00 am

BlogHer, BlogHer Food, Foodbuzz and HLS are all annual – so you just have to get tickets when they go on sale!

13 Angela @ Eat Spin Run Repeat June 10, 2012 at 7:05 am

Wow Kath! What a fantastic weekend. I”m just catching up on all you recaps now but the entire weekend sounds like a blasty. I really really hope I can attend next year!

21 Leslie June 10, 2012 at 10:14 am

Made me smile to see a picture of you and the Pioneer Woman. You are the first two bloggers I found a few years ago and the only blogs I read regularly! Makes me want to start a blog just so I can come to these kind of amazing events you bloggers have going on. :)

22 Kelly June 10, 2012 at 11:12 pm

Start a blog… I feel the same way! Kath’s is the one blog I was reading daily, then reccently I read Black Heels to Tractor Wheels by Ree and now I’m a little obsessed with her blog (and her hunky husband). Such a sweet love story! You got to meet he (again, had you met her before, yes?) Lucky!

23 Liz @ Tip Top Shape June 10, 2012 at 10:23 am

That venue is so cool!!!

24 gina June 10, 2012 at 10:39 am

WOw, what/where is that venue?! Gorgeous!

25 Larbs June 10, 2012 at 11:30 am

Love that venue and those cookies!

26 Tracy June 10, 2012 at 12:08 pm

Hi Kath, not sure if anyone else has pointed this out, but your uncharacteristic fatigue could be do to your low iron levels? When I was pregnant with my 2nd (or 3rd?) my iron was low and I was so tired I could barely keep my head up!

27 KathEats June 10, 2012 at 12:17 pm

Possibly, but they’re not that low and I’m sleep deprived!

28 Tracy June 10, 2012 at 12:36 pm

You know yourself. I will say that low iron fatigue is definitely a different kind of fatigue than sleep deprivation. Hope you catch up on sleep soon!

29 Shari June 10, 2012 at 1:09 pm

Looks like a very fun time! That venue is incredible!

30 Susan H. @ The Food Allergy Chronicles June 10, 2012 at 4:30 pm

I will enjoy perusing all the links to the bloggers you mentioned…how wonderful it must have been surrounded by like minded souls! I would love to attend something like that…were there any bloggers there specializing in food allergies as I do?

31 Angel7 June 10, 2012 at 5:31 pm

Oh, how I can eat some cookies right now!

Love the venue!

32 michelle June 10, 2012 at 11:35 pm

33 KathEats June 10, 2012 at 11:35 pm
