Cackle, cackle!
Tonight Matt and I attended the Arthritis Foundation’s First Annual Bone Bash as the bread sponsors for the evening. We donated about 50 loaves of bread to feed the crowd.
Please note that cereal tastes better than Hansel + Gretel did…
I dressed as a witch – wearing an old formal dress I had along with pointy-toe shoes and lots of green eye makeup. Seamane let me borrow her witch hat! I had a feeling that girl was a witch… (just kidding Seamane!)
Matt went as a vampire zombie guy. You know, tux, black eyes, blood – the works.
I had fun putting on his eyeliner
We started the evening with Skeletinis – some kind of raspberry vodka drink
That came with a gummi worm!!!
The Glee cast were there! This was probably the first costume party I’ve been to where everyone was in costume – that makes me happy!
There was an excellent band
A silent auction..
And a buffet of BBQ-style foods, including our bread.
The bread was my favorite item besides the baked beans, slaw, taters and rib [how appropriate!]
These were pretty yummy for dessert!
This witch wore her cauldron cooking Danskos to the party – because of the walk there – and changed into fashionable pumps for the event. But the heels started to hurt my square green feet, so I put the Danskos back on. Witches can look frumpy, right? Because I also had on a green knitted scarf and velvet jacket because it was FREEZING in there! Seriously, cold as a witch’s…well, you know.
To help with the warmth, we conveniently got cappuccinos from the Shenandoah Joe’s cart inside the arena!! Decaf of course so I will sleep tonight. Delicious and made up for a smallish dinner.
Burrrr!
Ever seen a peanut in a coffee shop?
Going to share my eye makeup remover with my husband! Then settle into our warm couch for the Halloween episode of The Office!

Fun! That rat shot sent shivers down my spine!
Pretty sure I ran in a hat just like that today for a Haunted Hustle – lol!! And I love those Skeletinis! Although I would like anything with gummy worms…
I have to say- Matt looks very handsome! (And you look great, too- duh.)
I’m so surprised that I haven’t seen people dressed up like the Glee cast – it seems like such an obvious idea! Love it!
I always think he looks sharp in a tux
Hahah, Matt needs to wear a tux more often, I love that look!
Looks like such a fun night! I love the pic with the gummy worm in your mouth and the one of Matt taking a drink of wine is definitely a good one too!
Looks so fun and you guys look fabulous as a witch and a zombie. Cool you donated all the bread. Bet it was delicious!
How fun! You look adorable and Matt makes a great vampire! Great job with his eye makeup! Mr. Peanut is super hilarious. I LOVE Halloween!
You guys both look great! Matt cleans up very well as a Vampire. I love the shots you got of him chilling with a drink in hand. Great clicks.
And you with the gummy worm…haha!
Glad you two had a great time and that cause is very near and dear to me. What a great night. I bet the other costumes were great to see, too!
LOVE that first photo of you! Awesome costumes!
I was just wondering if the OpenSky people have any plans to ship to Canada in the near future
. I’d love to buy some Nuttzo if you ever have it in stock again.
I dont think they do
You two look Fabulous! Love the skelletinis too. Very cool looking drink for the party!
Sound like a fun nice…you guys are such an adorable couple!! How many times do you have to share make-up and remover with your husband????!!! Too funny!!
I’m glad to hear about your shoe changes…I walk all over the place, and always carry other pairs of shoes! Glad I’m not the only one
I think I was scrolling down to fast because the mouse looked a bit too lifelike!
You both look gruesome yet adorable! Candy in booze always make my heart sing too; one time a visiting friend insisted that we visit Justin Timberlake’s restaurant in NYC (gag me) but I ended up getting a sand pail of a drink with gummy worms for bait and it made the whole meal worth it!
Tuxes are a good look on Matt
That looks like SO much fun!!!!! In Germany we don’t celebrate Halloween – bummer!! Although we do get a day off for all saint’s on November 1…
you guys look great! looks like a great event!
Okay, some things I loved.
~ the subtle comment about Hansel and Gretel
~ the peanut in the coffee shop.
Hilarious.
Cool! Sounds like a fun night! I love the glee cast picture, that is hilarious
You both looked great and the gathering looks like it was a ton of fun! I definitely had a good laugh about the peanut coming out of the coffee shop! =D
What a fun night! I love Halloween parties! The best part is always seeing other people’s costumes.
love the costume! you guys are one of my favorite couples
At a certain point, comfort outweighs costume. Just like when mom used to make you wear a coat to go trick or treating!
You and Matt look great! And those vodka drinks look pretty awesome, too.
I got a kick out of this: “Please note that cereal tastes better than Hansel + Gretel did…” hahaha
I know that Glee cast! You know Charlottesville’s small…. “Puck” used to live on my parents’ street growing up, was great friends with my brother, and his family went to the beach with us one year; his wife- “Britney”?- and I coached lacrosse together; her younger sister- “Rachel”?- was on the team that we coached and is good friends with my sister-in-law! Small, small world!!
No way!! Hilarious that you can identify them to me by their characters
Looks like so much fun! I was a witch one year, I think I was 6. You guys look great! Matt’s makeup was done really well, lol.
I love when adults dress in costume. It’s a nice change from the everyday.
Looks like it was a fun evening!
You and Matt look great! Looks like such a fun party! I love the martini with the gummi worm. The rat is scary!!
Those are great costumes – so dapper!
That coffee looks INCREDIBLE! You guys look so cute
Glad you had such a fun night!
Looks like a very fun evening! Love the costumes!
That first picture of you is probably my favorite ever! Awesome costumes, and those drinks look amazing!
You two looked awesome! Looks like a really fun night out, and for a good cause too.
I know it’s fake …..but didn’t like that rat shot on the plate, lol! too realistic…eek.
If that martini glass is glowing, I’m going to have to go on a quick shopping trip.
It did!!
Thank you so much for supporting the Arthritis Foundation!!! As a 30-something with inflammatory knee arthritis, I’ve learned just what arthritis really is and how it affects sooo many people. I appreciate that you guys supported this awesome cause.
Sorry to hear about your knee. My foot had tons before I had my surgery – so painful
What a fun night!
I have never seen a peanut in a coffee shop

Man, Matt even looks sexy when he’s dressed as a dead zombie. What a total babe! Way to be Kath. You look pretty darn hot too in your witch’s costume. I hope you guys had a great time at the party.
P.S. What’s abnormal about seeing a peanut in a coffee shop? You’ve obviously never been to Portland
And HA to Portland!
Oh my! Matt looks just like Brandon Flowers (The Killers) in that picture where he is leaned up against the bar staring straight at the camera. Must be the eyeliner! Y’all both looked great! Love a good costume party.
Ahahaha, Matt looks great! He pulls off the mischievous vampire look well!
The Halloween episode of “The Office” was great, btw…I’ve been a little disappointed in the episodes this season (maybe I just miss Michael Scott), but this was a good one!
We watched it this morning and it had me laughing out loud 3 separate times!! LOVED DWIGHT!
I missed the last episode!! My favorite Halloween costume on the show: Jim’s Facebook!
What a fun event!! I’ve always wanted to go to a big halloween party.
HA. Totally thought that was a real mouse…
Honestly, all the real witches I know (you know, pagan/hippie chicks), would prolly wear the Danskos!
Also, gee, the long hours at the Bakery sure are getting to Matt! I mean, look at those circles under his eyes!
My heart may have gullibly skipped a beat upon mentioning of the GLee cast…I was like, REALLY?? oh no…thats not them, ha haha. Looks like a great night, and at least people were in costume! Koreans do not really celebrate Halloween, so we stuck out like sour thumbs, but it was humorous and fun!
As a RA diagnosed, it’s very nice of you to support the Arthritis Foundation evening…
