Morning! I was up before the sunrise, which isn’t saying much because since when does the sun not rise before 7!? Tears for mid-summer mornings.
I’m actually headed to the new house today to meet with a painter and security system guru. We move on Sunday/Monday and our house is now knickknack free! All décor is packed.
I made a simple bowl of yogurt topped with oats, banana, blueberries, Cville Cluster granola, chia seeds and sunflower butter.
Lipton tea to be like mom!
Adios!

Can’t believe you’re moving so sooooon!! I have an inkling the sun will never rise today…rise above the clouds, that is.
I hate having to turn lights on when I wake up. I’d prefer the sun to do the work.
Good luck with the new house stuff today, Kath
I love waking up to natural sunlight- it instantly puts a smile on my face!
I’m gonna miss those juicy bluebs! I just can’t get enough of them lately. Good luck with the house stuff, so close!
Just found your blog and I’m loving it! You’re story and pictures are so inspiring! I love all the pics of oatmeal- I’m a oatmeal fanatic too : )
Thank you and welcome!!
I’m with you on the dark mornings … it makes me feel like I’m getting up WAAYYY too early now for my morning workouts. I miss summer!! Good luck with the painter and security guy today!!
That’s a fast move!! I bet you have a billion bowls to pack.
I love your blog and I ordered some of your granola from Open Sky and let me tell you how in love I am with the Cville Cluster Granola. Thank you so much for the awesome product! I’m sad already knowing it will be gone soon.
Good luck with the move!
So glad!!
I’m so sad that the hours of daylight are dwindling. On the flip side I’m definitely excited for Thanksgiving and using Autumn produce!
My mom drinks Lipton tea too!
I had to make a future resume for my COMM 1800 class at UVa, and I pretended to work at your Great Harvest for two years.
Hahah – love it!!
Mmm your tea looks like it’s the perfect strength with the perfect tea-to-milk ratio. These things are important.
I was torn between yogurt and oats in a jar this morning…but I most definitely had chia seeds, granola and sunflower butter…think someone has influenced my eating a little bit!? Haha
I’m not loving the darker mornings either although it does beat the dark by 5pm that’s right around the corner
Hope all goes well with the new house! So exciting
Yum! Simple is usually the tastiest! Great breakie
The breakfast pics are gorgeous!
6829-2blog = lovely! The clarity of the blueberries & the vibrancy of it…love it.
And knickknack free is pretty amazing. Great feeling when that’s all packed, isnt it!
Good luck today!
I know you guys must be so excited! Have fun today!
wow, I must say it, the first picture is absolutely STUNNING!!
Can’t believe you’re moving again! Good luck at the new house!
WHOA you’re moving SO soon! COngrats and good luck.I <3 chia seeds in the morning-so delish!!
Good luck with the new house stuff!!
I have such a hard time waking up when the sun isn’t out… it was dark/rainy at 8:15 this morning when I finally dragged my booty out of bed. Good luck with the move
Your breakfast is always so inspiring looking!
Where can I buy Chia seeds? I have looked at a couple of grocery stores and maybe I am looking in the wrong aisles but I can’t find them!
Whole Foods spices section
Or chiaseedsdirect.com – free shipping and best price per pound
Oh how I miss my chia seeds! I need to get to the store and get more! yum!!
I just drank Lipton Tea! But I can’t tell you how much…
Beautiful bowl, good luck with the house stuff today!
Good luck with the house stuff. I think you’re smart to hire a painter–I wish we could have done that. Any word on when the granola from Open Sky should be arriving?
Any day – I’m sorry for the delay!
No apologies! I just got a shipment confirmation this afternoon–can’t wait!
Oh good!!
I really miss the old Kath Eats. These days your blog is lacking substance, stories, thoughts, and depth. It’s like your blog is on auto, and the same three posts come out every day. This used to be the first blog I checked and now it’s the last out of boredom. But reluctantly I come hoping to find something new and exciting, yet it’s the same ol same ol. Has Kath lost her blogging mojo?
I’m really sorry you feel this way. Can you give me an example post of how I used to blog that I don’t anymore? I feel I’ve been making a pretty good effort to write about quick meals + recipes and tidbits of life.
i’m up before the sun too! but i have absolutely no reason to be…
Cannot wait to see pictures of your new house! I am sure I am not alone
I can’t remember the last time I had a yogurt bowl for breakfast. It used to be my go-to morning meal… it is so easy, nutritious and delicious
In fact, thinking about this has made me realize I have definitely been lacking in the probiotics department! Maybe I’ll make some kind of yogurt dessert tonight
Y’all must be so excited about your move and your new home!!
You’re so organized! I love getting to the point where everything is packed and ready to go. Exciting!
I just had to pop in to tell you that I have the same mug (just a slightly different shape), and I posted a picture of it on my blog yesterday!
Are the bears excited about the move?
Bears are pleased. They have great plans for their new room. They want Harry Potter wallpaper and one of those carpets decorated with roads for toy cars, etc. Oh and they each want beds in the shape of race cars.
I hope they get it! It certainly sounds exciting for them.
I hope so too!
They come home this weekend!
I am totally missing the longer day already! Come back loooong days!
The blueberries look absolutely beautiful!
Today, I’m trying yesterday’s breakfast. It’s very tasty!!
Good luck with the upcoming move!
That dollop of sunbutter looks extra delicious this morning,
haha the light hits it perfectly!
Ohhh you must be so excited to be moving so soon! I loved being able to decorate each room as I wished when we bought our first place last year!
That’s good that you hired painters. We painted each room of our house ourselves and halfway thru wished we hired professionals. We did a good job but it’s just time consuming with primers, 2nd coats and etc.
I am with ya on the mid morning sunrise! While I normally wake up in the dark anyway (hello 4:45) .. by the time I finish my work out and am driving to work.. I prefer sun rather then darkness. Guess I will be waiting til late next spring before that happens again!
Oooh… So exciting that you get to get back into the house today! I look forward to your home neat home posts at the new house! What colours are you painting it?
A surprise!! Although I doubt my choices will surprise you
I liked the “Lipton tea to be like Mom”!! That is the only tea my Mom will drink. She even carries some with her in her purse in case of emergency situations. Great Moms think alike!
Tell your mom I do that too! I can drink other black teas, but so many places just have herbal.
Ask her if she uses the same bag twice. I try and try this, so as not to be wasteful, but find it affects the flavor.
She thinks that Lipton is just the best! I asked if she ever reuses it but agreed that after one use it just isn’t the same strength.
Oh good. That makes me feel better about reusing them. They look strong enough but the flavor just isn’t the same. Tell your mom I go to bed every night excited about waking up and drinking Lipton Tea!
i love yogurt bowls for breakfast! the protein keeps me full for hours. now i just need to take a few cues from you on making them look so darn pretty
So exciting you’ll be moving son soon! I’m actually moving next month myself (but not to my own house yet – a rented townhouse) to Columbus, OH (from northern OH). Good luck getting all the packing done. Can’t wait to some pics of inside the new house once you two get settled
I cannot wait to see pics of the new house and the decorating you’ll do!
Yay for the new house and closer distance! You’ll be settled in before you know it
i can’t wait to see pics of the new house! i had chia seeds in a bowl of cereal today – i love the texture they get when they’ve gelled a bit, but i’m not sure i’d like chia pudding.
Lipton always hits the spot! Sometimes simple is best.
I LOVE the crunch factor of chia sees! It is so satisfying!
I am all about some chia seeds on pretty much all breakfasts foods now. Except for this morning’s breakfast in which I had some Bar Harbor Sardines in Maple Syrup with my egg whites and High Five bread on the side. I wasn’t sure how I would enjoy the sardines but they were actually really flavorful and not a bad flavor! Thanks for suggesting them awhile back, I was excited to stumble across them at TFM! I will probably be as successful as getting people to try sardines as I was with getting people to try chia seeds…
My kinda meal!
I love how paint can totally change the look of a house and make it feel like your own so quickly. How exciting!
Those blueberries look so juicy.
Good luck with the move.
I still have not bought chia seeds yet, but really want to so I can try them out to see if I like them. If anything, they pack a nutritional punch.

Ah how i wish i could have this for breakfast! in my dorm room without any food in the fridge! grocery shopping. NOW.
I love waking up before sunrise. I love starting my run in the dark and then slowly seeing everything light up. Such a peaceful way to start the day.
Good luck with the new house. I must have missed it but I didn’t know it was coming up so quickly!!
Wholeheartedly disagree!!
Disagree with the previous comments about boring blog, and look at me and perfect life! I laugh every time I read this blog and have learned so much! And, I am twice Kath’s age!
Breakfast looks great Agreed on waking up in the dark, no fun.
Later sunrise = sleepy Lara.
And it’s only going to get worse! Can’t wait to see more about the house – will you be doing a post on your decor choices (paint colors, etc.?)
Yep!!
I’m loving that first picture!!!
Your moving day is fast approaching! Yikes, that’s so exciting!
I wish that we could have beautiful cool fall weather AND bright sunshine-y early mornings
I was bummed to wake up to pitch black at 6 a.m. – so much harder to get out of bed!
Kath,
I read your blog religiously but don’t write in often. I am a runner too and really enjoy seeing all of your healthy eats. Thanks for sharing so much of yourself! You really are a great motivator and have a very healthy attitude toward food and just life in general. Love that!!! Best of luck on your move and the success of your bakery. Lots of great things happening in your life right now.
Thanks so much Maddy!
Moving is exciting!! except the actual moving of all the stuff…those blueberries look amazing. I want to pick on right off the screen! Love all your photos!
Just got an e-mail this morning telling me that I’m getting my OpenSky shipment soon! Wee!
Your photos are exquisite today! So clear!
It feels kind of weird to say that a picture of food is beautiful, but DUDE! these pictures of your yogurt are awesome. Especially that first/top one. Incredible.
Thanks!
I’m trying to do a hypoglycemia diet. How do oats work with that? Also, is this Greek yogurt? And where does one (or you)
purchase chia seeks and sunflower butter? Thanks!
