We had toast before we left as the sun rose:
Before we left my grandparents’ in Towson we had breakfast – my grandmother made a HUGE batch of bacon. I will always associate the smell of freshly cooked bacon with her house, as she always makes it nice and crispy for us when we visit. I had 2 slices
I whipped up a batch of rolled oats on the stove top for my sister, grandfather and I (made with water only today). I added cinnamon and brown sugar and topped it with walnuts! I love the blue china!

After a 3-hour drive to New Jersey, we went out with my family to Applebee’s around 1:30. I ordered grilled chicken and portabella on a wheat bun with a side of fresh fruit off the Weight Watchers menu. I would have gotten a salad, but we’re going to Charlie Brown’s Steakhouse tonight and they have a HUGE salad bar. My sandwich was great – loved the mushrooms and it wasn’t so big that I was stuffed. I could have used a little more fruit though! Marinara sauce on the side:
