Good afternooooon! This day is just whizzing by – in a very productive way!
Before lunch, I had exercise company when my friend Sarah joined me for a walk! School is out for the summer! We had a long talk about technology (post on new advancements coming!) and books and the hour flew by.
Sarah brought me some of her latest creation – Cookie Dough Nutty Butter! You never know what nut butter she will invent next : ) [Edited to add: More info on how to get your hands on it in the comments - unfortunately it's a secret recipe]
Stuff is GOOD! So of course I had to have it for lunch.
I made a CDNB & JATD [Jam According to Daniel : ) ] on toasted sourdough – delish!!
Enjoyed a watermelon and mint salad (Sarah reminded me I need to use my mint!)
And amped up the protein with about 2/3 a cup of cottage cheese topped with a little coconut sprinkle.
All in all, filling and gooood!

Cookie dough nut butter? Holy cow that sounds amazing… and a little dangerous.
Does she have a recipe for that?
i linked to it
She didn’t post the recipe on the website. That looks delicious!
Oh I’m sorry, I thought she did. I’ll ask if it’s somewhere else.
OK, got all this info from Sarah. She is actually selling it!

There is a page on my blog about how to order some. The recipe is a bit of a secret, but it’s a base of three nuts (cashews, almonds, peanuts).

Sarah – I’m interested in buying but wondering if you have any (estimated) health stats. I know it’s homemade so they won’t be exact but just wondering.
That cookie dough nutter butter looks delicious – and the packaging is adorable!
The watermelon looks soo good – It is blazing hot here today and the melon looks so refreshing!
I bet that cookie dough nut butter would be good in overnight oats! I may try to make some that isn’t too peanut buttery for myself!
Coconut sprinkled on cottage cheese! Great idea! I’ll have to try that ASAP.
Oh my goodness that cookie dough nut butter looks SO good.
Ohhh I bet that cookie dough Pb would taste fab mixed in cottage cheese!
Hi Kath- What brand of cottage cheese do you buy? I haven’t found one I like…it’s a texture thing with me – can’t be too ‘creamy’…Thanks!
Whole Foods Low-Fat Organic – I’m picky about my CC and love this one!
Thanks! I’ll check it out – though going into Whole Foods is always dangerous with me. I live right across the street form one, and always walk out with way more than I’d planned on buying … oops!
Looks like an awesome lunch! I love adding coconut to random things.
Oh mint and watermelon…YES! YUM! That nut butter looks and sounds perfectly delicious! I love how the flavor combinations are endless!
Hehe I think you’re going to need to start a KERF Dictionary – CDNB & JATD, SIAB, Hugh Jass…
Sounds like a great day so far!
: )
Cottage cheese is a hard one for me. Is there a brand/type you suggest?
I love the Whole Foods low-fat organic. I’m picky and hate fat-free CC and like it to be just the right amount of cream + curds
I subscribe to this whole foods 52 list serve and just got this recipe for almond ginger honey nut butter! Hope to try it soon! http://food52.com/blog/3645_homemade_nut_butters?utm_source=FOOD52+Subscribers+List&utm_campaign=134fee7056-FOOD52_Digest6_8_2012&utm_medium=email

Oh wow, that nut butter DOES sound good. Someday it’s going to become one of those delicious recipes everyone’s trying to figure out (like the Olive Garden salad dressing!)
Nothing better than a good ‘ole PB&J…or a gourmet version!
Oh heavens- that looks like an amazing lunch! ….I love cottage cheese with some coconut extract and pineapple chunks stirred in! Mmmmmmm!
I noticed that you haven’t been using your stainless steel straws anymore. Did you have a problem with them. I was thinking about getting me a set but not sure now. By the way I really enjoy your blog.
Nope, just swap back and forth each week (I use one about a week and then either wash the stainless or throw away the plastic)
Wow that butter looks good!!! It was so nice meeting you in Seattle!! Hope you had a great trip back.

Homemade nut butter is THE BEST! Especially if it’s a gift
I love her presentation.
The nut butter looks wonderful. But I am loving your little blue bowl and spoon the most – the one you had the cottage cheese and coconut in. How gorgeous they are.
