Right after we end triceps in Body Pump, Vanessa always says “Stretch those broken wings!”
My wings are broken! Class was particularly hard today on the upper body – but I kept it lighter on the lower since I’m running in the Charlottesville Women’s 4 Miler tomorrow morning!
Not too excited about getting up at 5 on a Saturday, but am excited about running in our city’s most famous race!
Recipage (and my friends Emily + Casey!) sent me their new branded shirt – “Original Content” with RECIpage on the back. It’s American Apparel – my torso has never felt a shirt so soft! <3 my Recipage.
Sandwich alert!! I like to keep Jenn on her toes with interesting sandwich combos ; ) Today’s order sheet read: 2/3 sandwich with cheddar, veggies and hummus as a spread.
How would YOU interpret that!?
I’m really into cheddar cheese these days!
On the side – a plumb and an apricot. The ape was on its last leg – wrinkles, mush and all!
Matt just went home to nap. I’m holding down the fort until this afternoon, then biking to pick up my race packet and then back downtown to see Faith in a dance performance!!

Enjoy the race! I will be in Cville, but gave up my spot because I am still injured
Don’t go out to fast, the first part is down hill! Can’t wait to read your recap!
Ohh this post has got me craving a sandwich for lunch tomo, good thing I got some cheddar at home!
Looks like a delicious sandwich. Have a good race!!!
Yummm cheddar. Never paired that with hummus but that sounds good!
I love 4 mile races! 5Ks seem too short, 10Ks seem too long, and the two 1/2 marathons I’ve done were just ridiculous. 4 or 5 miles = just right. Enjoy!
I need some GH bread in my life. This post just made me want it hardcore.
Okay…I’m slow…what’s with the 2/3?! Good luck on your race – 5 a.m – not for me
If I ever made it to your shop, I’m gunning for that sandwich. And a brownie.
Me too! I wish GH bread was local.
Good luck in your race tomorrow. That’s a great distance for a Saturday and no big stress.
Mmm you’re making me crave cheddar!
Good luck in your race tomorrow – have fun!
oh man, i wish i was running the 4 miler. i love cville in the fall! have fun!
That sandwich looks SOOOO good! I love sharp cheddar, it can never be too sharp. Yummy!
2/3 sandwich? I’d interpret that as a snack.
Have fun racing! I like the tee
Great tee, and good luck with the race! Your sandwich looks marvellous and filling as usual. Love the bright colours!
I Love Cheddar cheese! It adds such a good flavor to sandwiches!
Yay! Good luck at the race tomorrow, Kath!
haha, 2/3 a sandwich?! I’d give you the whole thing and say don’t eat it all! Good luck on your run tomorrow!
I love your original content shirt!!!
Haha I think my wings are broken too today! Too much punching and push ups yesterday! Good luck with your race tomorrow!
Welcome to the craziness of the four miler! It’s a lot of people out there! Have a great time-I think your pace is faster than mine (10-11 minutes a mile).
my cville 10 miler shirt reads “the towns most prestigious foot race”…maybe some competition for the 4 miler??
Haha. I think it’s a tie based on who you ask!
I am always on the lookout for T-shirts that are super-duper soft!!! I am all about comfort!

2/3 of a sandwich?! With a yummy combo like that I wouldn’t be able to resist having the whole thing!!
That sandwich looks so yummy!! Fresh fruit is just the best too!!!
Have a blast running tomorrow!! You’ll have so much fun!
Good luck tomorrow! I like the idea of a 4 mile race- it’s my favorite distance for training runs
the bread looks “doughy” and SO good. GH stop tomorrow for sure. have a great race tomorrow!
Plums are just right at the moment – I ate the best one I’ve ever had the other day! Good luck on your 4-miler!
haha I love your specific order. Looks like she interpreted it pretty well. Have fun at the dance performance, I love love watching dance. I take modern dance classes through my college and we are often required to see several performances to write reviews on and many of them are very engaging and inspiring, it’s a beautiful art form.
I haven’t done ReciPage with my recipes. Looked into it..decided that’s another project for another…millennium. When I dont have FT motherhood & FT job and can upload them all! Wish there were more hours in the day!
Your tshirt is sooo cute!
And I love American Apparel. SO SOFT as you said!
So is one whole sandwich too big of a portion? I find it hard to finish an entire sandwich sometimes.
Have fun at the race tomorrow.
Re. Sandwiches: ours are huge!! Sometimes 2/3 is all one needs.
You will do AWESOME in your race tomorrow! Good luck!!!
Looking good! Can’t wait to read about your race, rockstar. Have fun!
Up at 5?? Geez, does the race start at 6?
I love how even though body pump has to follow a certain format, each teacher is so unique! Its those little sayings and tweaks that make your class special!
I’ve been a longtime lurker on the KERF website and I finally wanted to say hi!
I love your triple daily posts, oatmeal posts and motivating me to live healthy. I know that you go to a lot of the bodypump classes and I just wanted to introduce you to this site I’ve been using
http://www.bodyrock.tv
It’s pretty popular with subscribers from all over the world doing her exercises which are only 15mins long. but it is SUPER hard…because you set your own determination I guess.
I do find her pics a littleeee bit well…out there (you’ll understand if you see them). But great exercises when you don’t have time!
Oh well, I am starting to rant. Keep up the good work!
Thanks for sharing!! I’ve heard of that – need to get on board!
I have seriously been sitting here trying to decipher the 2/3… I feel like I am looking at some puzzle where the answer is staring right at me! haha
Have FUN running tomorrow! I am living through runners right now as I am nursing a serious running injury :/ Enjoy every moment of it!
Good luck at your race tomorrow!
I got the Carrot shirt from Whole Foods and it was American Apparel and literally I want to wear it everyday. It’s super cozy!
My mom in law rocks as well!! Bread pudding looks awesome-almost like a creme brulee
Oh hummus. I am so saddened when I find people who have never even heard of it!
I just did a post on broken wings too, but it was a glass butterfly wing my son broke. ha! Good luck in your race! Yay! Love the shirt!
Haha 2/3 of a sandwich– just means less bread?
Cheddar is my favorite cheese behind goat– so much flavor! And the sharper the better
I love working the triceps during BodyPUMP and seeing the members and participants lovin’ the burn
We don’t get the triceps enough in the weight room, I think–so BP is good for that!
Love me some hummus and veg on a good sandwich!!
Ha, my torso felt short as well when I tried on my new Recipage t-shirt…and I’m 5’9″!!
Love cheddar – the good stuff has so much flavor!! and now I have “Take These Broken Wings” by Mr. Mister in my head.
I’ll be up at 5 tomorrow too and be thinking how jealous I am that you will be running and I’ll be working…but such is life
That sandwich combo sounds so great! Enjoy your Friday night and good luck tomorrow!
I’ll be running (well, mostly walking) the 4 Miler with my 9 year old tomorrow. Will Great Harvest be giving out bread?
Unfortunately no, we wanted to!! Panera had an exclusive
Say hi if you see me!
Bummer! I’m sure you were done long before me and the 9 year old. We did some strolling on the hills, and finished in 50 minutes. Not bad, considering that the 9 year old did no training, and I hadn’t run since mid-August. I hope you enjoyed your first 4 Miler experience.
Nice work!! I had a great time!
Getting up @ 5 on a Saturday to run?! Ugh, I’d rather snuggle with my hubs anyday!
Hmm, what will I love more today? The shirt, or the plum? Decisions…
Just wanted to say thanks for your dedication to this blog. I read it every night and it inspires me to continue to eat a healthy plant-based diet.
Aw thanks!!
i’m so jealous! i had to give up my bib bc i’m stuck working :/ it is a blast…have fun!
Bummer!!
I think I need to slip a few slices of cheddar onto the hummus sandwich I have packed for tomorrow’s lunch. It sounds like a yummy combination!
I’m always into cheddar! Looks like a great sandwich
