I love your blog, I'm striving to eat more like you do! :) Thanks for the enjoyment and inspiration... Also, the one thing I remember from Organic: "The ether bunny says ROR." My roommate came up with it while we were studying way back when. It still makes me laugh! :)

Shelby ,
The kamut berries taste like wheat berries - a cross between steel cut oats and rice. Yes, you simmer them for about 45 minutes.

Little Black Dress,
Thanks for the sweet comment :)

ModelBehavior ,
This is the no stir version - is that what you had? I would say it is a bit oilier than the "almonds, salt" ones, but I still think it's good.

Betsy in Pittsburgh,
I hate marzipan and almond cookies too - the butter is totally different!

faith ,
Blog readers have trickled in day by day for the past year. I guess mostly by word of mouth ...and....type.

I like firm tofu, baked the best.

Cool you're coming to NC!

lisa ,
I'm liking it so far. I like all the naming of compounds. Call me a nerd, but it's kind of like a puzzle to figure out how to draw 2-isopropal-3,5-dimethylpentane!

runjess ,
Sony CyberShot. It's in the FAQs ;)

HangryPants ,
I did read through that thread - interesting conversation. I thought many of you level-headed people had great responses: food blogs do not equal eating disorders but are a form of creativity. We're getting PAID. It's fun, etc.

Maryam ,
I'm not qualified to give diet advice, and without doing a thorough assessment on your eating, exercise and lifestyle habits, even an R.D. would have a tough time giving specific recommendations. I would suggest generally that you try to clean up your diet - not necessarily changing how much you eat but what you eat. The more fresh foods the better. That certainly makes a difference for me and how I look and feel.

The cheesy buns are in the recipe sidebar under the husband's page!

hey kath,

i've been working out pretty regularly (& hardcore) for about a year. I eat pretty healthy too, for the most part (except for the occassional ice cream or cake on wknds, of course!) I get my weight and messurements taken at the gym w/my trainer. My weight for the most part has stayed the same, but the measurements and % body fat has decreased, sllllllllowwwwwwwwly!! I heard that's a good thing, but i'm still having trouble accepting that my weight is relatively the same. Especially when i see someone in your case who has lost so much weight. i don't need to lose a ton of weight, but i'd like to lose at least a good 10 lbs (like any normal girl would!)
any advice you could give me or words of hope, maybe??

p.s. could the husband give his recipe for the homemade cheese buns?? i tried looking for it but i can't find it & they look awesome!!

Kath,
maybe you need to drink a glass of wine more regularly and you will build up more of a tolerance so that a glass and half won't be such a big deal and cause you to feel to feel "yucky." I know when I used to only drink wine on occasion I'd get much more of a reaction than I do now, drinking more regularly (in moderation.)

I have a new project for The Husband! When I was little I remember my mom getting part of a "Friendship Bread" starter. I remember the bread tasting delicious, and having fun "feeding" the starter for her... the problem is that I don't know how to start it myself. I know there are all sorts of directions all over the web for where to start, but I thought it might be fun to see you show off your baking expertise via a photographed blog account. Any interest??
