Good morning!! I took the night off last night and relaxed and wrote tons of thank you notes!
We were all so full from cake that we didn’t want much for dinner, but we had a nice summer meal planned and just ate it late.
London Broil my dad grilled
Corn on the cob!
And a salad with a homemade dressing by moi
Tasty!
I really couldn’t even think about sweets, but the rest of the crew was into the variety we had in stock! A few pieces of cake from the shower, leftover pie, ice cream. My mom put them out as a buffet. I had a taste of each cake – still wonderful – and called it a night.
You know how I’ve been talking about getting up and walking with the morning before breakfast? Today was the day! I ended up waking up at 6:30 and not being able to go back to sleep so I came down to find my parents awake too. And my room was COLD (Dad was right about the AC and fans
Sleeping was fine). It seemed like a good day to get out for a walk before the heat set in.
So I ate a bowl of fruit (with a US Government Building spoon in honor of Team USA!) and Dad and I went out on a 3 mile walk. Hillsborough is such a nice town for walking!
When I returned Karen and I had bowls of Cinnamon Life with blueberries, banana and peanut butter.
We’re packing up and heading out after we shower up. Can’t wait to unpack my car into the nursery!!

Ice cream is where it’s at. We got a carton of Breyer’s Butter Almond last night. Mmmm! Nice job on the steak, Papa KERF!
Walks with dads are fun
And the shower looked BEAUTIFUL! What a nice turnout.
That breakfast looks just perfect.
And I can’t wait to see the nursery with all the shower additions! When my sister had her shower, it definitely upped the baby room from “semi-complete” to “full-on-baby-ready”
Glad you got a walk in with your dad!
Good luck with the car-squishing! Looks like you got an awesome amount of stuff.
Love all those blueberries on breakfast!
I finally came out for a morning walk, too! I’ve been dreaming about it for a while, and felt a little cramped in my apartment. my “morning” is a little later than yours, but it’s amazing in the park. not too hot, and a nice breeze. and just enough people for some people-watching now that I’ve sat down.
aww the nursery is going to look so cute! Can’t wait to see pics
I’m glad you had a nice walk with your Dad.
That salad looks great–what kind of dressing was that?
A mix of balsamic, olive oil, rosemary, honey, dijon mustard and salt
I love dessert buffets! I’m a big fan of having a little taste of everything! Have a safe trip home
miss karen is ageless!
Short ‘n sweet trip – safe travels back home!
All I could think of when you wrote that was…. REAL SOUTHERN BOIL
I loved going through all the baby gifts the days following our baby shower! You will have so much fun organizing everything!
I have been eating cinnamon life every morning! It’s really good in yogurt with fruit and peanut butter.
You will have so much fun getting all of your new goodies set up and put away in the nursery. Can’t wait to see pics!
Love early morning walks followed by a yummy breakfast. Even better? Sharing it with someone special
You alwas take such lovely pictures. They always seem to really capture what you’re looking at.
And Karen’s necklace is WOW-amazing! How cool!
Karen looks radiant! Amazing necklace.
All that food looks ridiculously good Kath. I’m going to need to try that dressing out, I like the idea of salads but can’t seem to find dressings that I like.
That London Broil looks really good! It looks like it was made to perfection!

Sweets overload?! How’s that possible?
Everything looks so good! What did you put in your salad dressing?
That bowl of bananas, blueberries, and peanut butter looks incredible!! Did you just mix it with cereal and milk?
Hahah every time I have life cereal, I can’t help but make some sort of dumb pun about it. So tasty, and so funny
