Ahoy from the annual Cville 10 Miler! We sliced at this race last year, before the bakery was open, and I can’t tell you how GLAD we are to have a thriving bakery this year! Many thanks to Gran Bett for our new (old) company truck that made logistics soooooo much easier! Last year we had bread crammed into two Hondas and Ikea bags. This year we had plenty of space in Blue Betty and real drader racks!

So far we’ve seen 10 people we know and wished the racers good luck.

The race just began, and we have just under an hour to enjoy breakfast bread and coffee!

Cheers!

Haha, love the name Blue Betty – that’s great. Yum, your bread slice with toppings looks great!
That looks divine! Congratulations on all the success with the bakery!
How fun! I’m sure the racers love to see you all! Have a great day!
You must have had an early morning! Hope it is a great event for you and the runners.
My husband will be there. He’s pretty speedy, so hopefully he’ll get some bread before it’s gone!
Oh fun! Hope he got a slice!
He did, and pronounced it “fresh and tasty.” He finished in 78:24!
Oh good!! Great time!!
I would run ten miles for a slice of that cinnamon chip in the background (if I’m not mistaken!)
Yum that looks so good! I’m sure the racers will be excited to have their own bread awaiting them at the finish line!
I’m about to head out for a run myself! Have a beautiful day
as far as I care foresee it’s shaping up to be just that.
Oooh I remember when you guys did this last year! I’d be willing to run even further than 10 miles for some Great Harvest bread – especially if it looks like the piece you had for breakfast!
Nice truck! Did you purchase the truck to use for Great Harvest purposes? Or is it just to use when you need it?
A coffee sounds good right now

Kath said at the top of the post “Many thanks to Gran Bett for our new (old) company truck…”. They got it from someone in the family.
Yes, it was Gran Bett’s old truck and she is downsizing her house and needs. We are very thankful!
You’re totally glowing!
I have to say that pregnancy suits you so well! You really are glowing
Thank you
You are up early! What kind of race is it…sorry I am a little clueless! Your slice of bread is my little piece of heaven that I dream of indulging in! Looks like a lot of fun!
10 mile road race!
Aw- how cool to be providing breakfast for the runners. The bread with nut butter, smashed banana and honey looks to die for. That’s my standard “pre-hiking” breakfast.
That looks amazing
I would race for that breakfast! Haha. And congratulations on having such a successful business!! It must be a great feeling to see how far you have come.
you look so pretty in that first photo! must be the pregnancy glow.
your bread with the PB, banana, and honey looks yummy!
Oh, how fun! I’ll take a loaf of that bread :p
Whatever loaf is behind that slice…..I want to eat the whole thing. It looks like something I should stay away from for fear of addiction.
Looks like a good time out there at the races! I’m sure all the runners are freaking out about how awesome your bread is.
have fun!! as a runner, i can tell you the post-run samples are my favorite part of any race
That is a fantastic picture of you!! And your bread looks divine.
That looks like the best post race treat!
Ohmy! What is that under the honey?
That looks so delicious
It looks like mashed banana, nut butter, and honey.. am I right Kath?! MMM!
Indeed!!
Barney Butter!
That’s a great truck… should call her Bread Betty!!
Agreed!
I remember that post from last year…jeez can’t believe it’s already a year ago! My husband had a 95 blue tacoma a few years ago that we called Blue betty as well. It was even more baby blue than yours though and I’ll admit, pretty embarrassing to be seen in!
I never comment but read BOTH of your blogs…I was there this morning and saw you guys and wanted to say hi but I was volunteering and setting things up and couldn’t get away. I know the runners appreciated you being there!
Congrats on the pregnancy as well, I’m just ahead of you by about 6 weeks, it’s crazy how time is flying!
Oh bummer to miss a hello! Thanks for reading!
This looks like such a fun Saturday morning! And a yummy breakfast as well. I recently found out there is a Great Harvest about 45 mins. away from me in Rockford, IL. Have you heard anything about this location? I definately plan on stopping there next time I’m in Rockford. I’ll let you know how it is when I do! Have a great Saturday, Kath!
PB, honey, banana is my guess…whatever it is, it looks quite fabulous! Glad you were able to bump into folks you knew!
Your breakfast bread looks kiiind of amazing!
Enjoy the race!!
That’s neat that you are there supporting the runners! How fun.
I’ve always done peanut butter with banana on top, but never the other way around… Going to try this right now for breakfast! It’s nice to change things up
mmm yummy breakfast! have fun!
Agreeing with everyone else, there’s something about that pic of you. You look amazing!
I absolutely love your blog; it has such a comforting look and your photos are great! I am also a Registered Dietitian with very similar food tastes to you. I love all of your nummy ideas. Keep up the great work!
Thanks Melanie!
I want THAT as my post race snack!
Can’t go wrong with the PB, honey and banana on bread. Best way to enjoy freshly sliced bread!
That’s a great and hearty topping for toast/broad. It almost looks like caramel…I know it’s not, but I mean, would that be so wrong?
I see a cute little baby bump under that apron!
So glad the rain is holding off for you guys! I will have to get Karen a trucker hat
Have fun!
Haha. Indeed!! By the way, my sister and Matt had dinner with Jessica’s Duke friend this past week!
No way! Sarah is featured in my blog today, she was the best MOH who loaned Jess her sunglasses for this pose. We are all just 6 degrees of separation…I’m giving out unsolicited parenting advice so you may not want to read it yet
Haha – fun!!
I wish the Monument 10K in Richmond this morning had Great Harvest bread afterward, but Ukrops’ White House Rolls were pretty tasty. Your breakfast looked amazing and you were GLOWING!
I would run 10 miles for Great Harvest bread
That’s so awesome that you guys do this – I bet nothing tastes better than your bread after a long run!
That sounds so fun! I bet the racers will appreciate your goodies!
Thank you for being there at the race today! I was happy to see you guys and enjoy your bread.
Glad to see you!
I seriously need you to send me some bread. That looks beyond wonderful!
Hi Kath,
I love your blog! I read it everyday, but never comment.
Sorry that this is kind of off-topic, but what is your favourite type of nut butter?
Favorite type is definitely sunflower butter followed by a tie between almond + peanut
Thanks
I love this picture of you, you look really beautiful, radiant even!
